live from houston, texas, where "fox & friends" currently is as you can see right there, we're hiding out in this plastic structure because it's a little rainy here in the heart of houston in discovery green. and as we hear the band out there, just know this. we gave the seahawks a great guy guy. we brought in the sienna stallions. we took a picture of nate boyer, the former seahawk. >> it's been so fun for all the little kids to meet the celebrity players. they're talking with us on the show. all these little cute kids that look up to these individuals get a chance to take pictures with them. >> we got to bring in bill o'reilly right now. bill, we not only ask the kids to help us out, their coaches run them through a practice while we're playing. do you think that's fair? >> i might go on strike if i were these kids right now. but you know what's true? seven in the morning texas time, a marching band. isn't that what everybody dreams of? >> i know. >> come on. >> super bowl sunday, come on.
5:02 am
>> bill, we'll have to share the story. last night you was at an event at one of the hotels around here and i was talked with some of the -- my friends outside in the hallway and these ladies, i could hear them say, i mean, if i hear that band at seven o'clock in the morning again, i'm going to wring someone's neck. and i just walked away like this this. >> bad news for them, we started at five. bill, and we started this morning with the fox news alert, u.s. cellars out in california rejected the trump administration request to restore the travel ban, so essentially the people from those seven countries who are not american citizens are still going to be allowed to come on in. what do you think of this? >> well, you know, you're talking about the ninth circuit, which is very liberal. it's a political decision, i think. i think it'll be overturned eventually. you know, look, i'm not a lawyer lawyer. i'm not a constitutional guy. but it seems to me that any president and president obama did this as well in iraq, as you
5:03 am
guys have reported and we reported on "the factor," if you feel that there isn't any supervision in a country, and these seven certainly don't have any supervision on their end, you can do that, if you're a president for national security reasons. so it's just logical. i expect it'll be overturned next week. >> hey, bill, one thing is different about everything you said, a logical thing, we're not attorneys. i get it. but it has not stopped the protests in australia, in london in philadelphia, in los angeles. this, to me, the intensity of the protests on really one side, against donald trump, has stunned me. has it stunned you? >> no. i'll tell you why. because this is all organized, this isn't spontaneous stuff like the vietnam protests in the late sixties and seventies where regular people said, "you know what? i don't really believe this is the right situation, and so i'm going to go out and make my opinion known." this is organized left-wing, anti-capitalism, anti-american.
5:04 am
that's what this is. and now you can do that quickly with the internet. you couldn't do it quickly at any other time in history. you have to get people discussing it and what you can do now, it's like in response. so it isn't surprising. it's all the same crew, all right? all of it. if you look at the leadership, if you look at how it's put together, it's the same crew, " "we don't like america, now we really don't like it, because we don't like like trump. we can tolerate it under appropriately. we can't tolerate it under trump trump." >> fox is hosting the super bowl this year, so whoever is hosting the super bowl, whichever network, gets to interview the president. you got to sit down with him, it's going to air today. what did you get from that interview when you walked away? >> well, we had to do the interview earlier because the president had florida engagements. we knocked it out. it's a 40-minute interview.
5:05 am
and it's very wide-ranging about policy, about -- and policy that's relevant to what we're talking about now. so i think you'll be surprised at some of the things he says, very blunt. you know, a few times he wanders but we get him back and we're going to use ten minutes of it at four o'clock on the super bowl pregame show, and then we'll use the rest on "the factor" on monday and tuesday. but it's not boring, i'll tell you that, it's right to the point. >> before we get to the specific sound bites, i want to ask you, do you notice a change in the guy that ran for president to the guy who, by the way, is a friend of yours, who is now president? have you noticed as he walks the white house he seems different at all? >> a little bit. he's a little bit more focused as far as his work is concerned. i didn't get to follow him around ever. i mean, i've known him as you guys know, for a long time, but i've never really looked at the -- you know, it was all social, was all sporting events. so i didn't see how he conducted

5:07 am
but he doesn't give you that. he explains a little bit about how he sees the rollout, but he doesn't say "i was disappointed disappointed." >> you know what? that's a good tease. we're going to watch for that. but you have released a couple of sound bites for us. the first one is where you talk to him about vladimir putin, a cold, bloody killer. what did he say? here's the clip. >> do you respect putin? >> i do respect him. >> do you? why? >> well, i respect a lot of people, but that doesn't mean i'm gonna get along with him. he's a leader of his country. i say it's better to get along with russia than not. and if russia helps us in the fight against isis, which is a major fight, and islamic terrorism all over the world, major fight, that's a good thing thing. will i get along with him? i have no idea. >> he's a killer, putin's a killer. >> a lot of killers. we got a lot of killers. you think our country is so innocent? >> what does that mean, "you think our country's so innocent innocent." >> well, the follow-up is, he

goes, "a lot of killers," and then i say, "i don't know of any in our government, you know, 'cause it -- you know, putin -- i was trying to get at with him not only is he a tyrant, but himself, he orders assassinations. so the president then goes on to say that the usa has done a lot of things to other people dying as well. so it's a good back-and-forth. and, you know, look, he's trying to get putin to cooperate with isis and a few other things, and we'll see if he's successful. >> it's going to be very interesting to see when he gets his whole staff together what it's going to be like. and lastly, do you think the criticism that he's getting bothers him to the point where it's affecting him? >> i asked him that, too. and he basically says that -- and this is what he says pretty much all the time, because there were some questions you have to ask but you know how he's going
