10:01 pm
president trump's now fighting back and setting the record straight. take a look. >> i am making this statement directly to the american people, with the media present, which is an honor to have you. many of our nation's reporters and folks will not tell you the truth. and will not treat the wonderful people of our country with the respect they deserve, the press has become so dishonest that if we do not talk about it, we are it's doing a tremendous disservice to the american people. a tremendous disservice, we have to talk about it. d because the press honestly is out of control. the level of dishonesty is out of control. i will tell you something, i will be honest because i sort of enjoy this enjoy this back-and-forth and i guess i have all my life but i've never seen more dishonest media thenen frankly of the political media. i thought the financial media

was much more honest. there is nobody i have more respect for -- maybe a little -- and good reporters. it is very important to me. especially in this position. it's very important. i do not mind bad stories. i can handle a bad story better than anybody. m as long as it is true. over a course of time i will make mistakes, and i am okay with that. i am not okay when it is fake. i think it should be straight, i think it would be frankly more interesting. i know how good everybody's ratings are but i think they would actually be better. you have a lower approval rating there in congress, i think that is right. is that one right? i heard, lower than congress. the public -- they read newspapers and see television. they do not know if it is true or false because they are not involved. i am involved, i have been involved with the stuff on my life.
10:03 pm
i know when you are telling the truth and when you are not. i just see many, many untruthful things. i see tone -- you know, the word tone. the tone, such hatred. i'm really not a bad person, by the way. the tone -- i do get good ratings, you have to admit that. the tone is such hatred. >> sean: he did not stop there, he talked about the massive mess he is inherited and what he's doing to fix it. s >> i inherited a mess. i it is a mess. at home and abroad. a mess. jobs are pouring out of the country, you see what is going on with all of the companies leaving our country and going to mexico and other places. low pay, low wages, mass instability overseas. no matter where you look, the middle east is a disaster.
10:04 pm

certain amount of information given to vice president pence who is here today. i was not happy with the way that information was given. he did not have to do that because what he did wasn't wrong, what he did in terms of the information he saw, what was wrong was the way that other people -- including yourselves in this room were given the information. because i was classified information, it was given illegally. that was a real problem. you can talk all you want about russia, which was all fake news, a fabricated deal to try to make up for the loss of the democrats. the press plays right into it. how did they get this information that is classified? it is an illegal process and the press should be ashamed of themselves. more importantly, the people they gave out the information to
10:06 pm
the press should be ashamed of themselves. >> sean: president trump also addressed russia after fake news, the press insinuated that he may have direct ties to the country. >> the failing "new york times" wrote a big piece, it was very much discredited as you know. it is a joke. the people mentioned this story, i noticed they were on television today saying they never even spoke to russia. the three people that they talked about, all totally deny it and i can tell you, speaking for myself -- i own nothing in russia. i have no loans in russia. i do not have any deals in russia. president putin called me up very nicely to congratulate me on the win of the election, he then called me up extremelyel nicely to congratulate me on the inauguration, which was terrific. so did many other leaders, almost all of the leaders from almost all other countries. russia is fake news.
10:07 pm
this is fake news put out by the media. the whole russian thing, that is a ruse. that is a ruse. by the way, it would be great if we could get along with russia. just to understand that. hillary clinton did a reset with that stupid plastic button that made us all look like a bunch of jerks, he looked at her like what the hell is she doing? i would love to be able to get along with russia. we've had a lot of presidents, look where we are now. >> sean: finally, while his temporary travel ban is being held up by the most liberal court in the country, the ninth circuit court of appeals, senate president made a very big news about issuing a new executive order about keeping you, the american people, safe. >> we will be issuing a new and very comprehensive order to protect our people. that will be done sometime toward the next week. as far as the new order it will
10:08 pm
it's be very much tailored to what i considered to be a very bad decision but we can tailor the order and get just aboutet everything and in some ways more it's but we are tailoring it now to the decision. we have some of the best lawyers in the country working on it. the new executive order is beine tailored to the decision we got down from the court. >> sean: all i can say is wow.he what we saw today was a historic beat down of the alt left propaganda media and they had it coming. we have been showing you example after example of the press purposefully distorting the president's plans and his agenda. it is very refreshing to see commander in chief who will fight back against the dishonesty smears, and set the record straight with you. coming up next, right here on "hannity."

10:16 pm
constituency, the vote coalition, he spoke to people that felt like they hadn't been spoken to in years. he gave voice to people that felt like they were voiceless. he tapped into that and that is something that most people did not see. that something i said the next day,s bravo. very impressed.y, >> sean: how is the relationship now? >> it's great, really good actually. i didn't know him, he didn't i didn't know him, he didn'ti know me. we met basically once. we speak constantly. we talk all the time, we are working on the same plan. what i did we put together a 200 day plan during the transition, we put together a 200 day plan for the president to get this agenda that we all have agreed on through the system. we are exactly on track and on our timeline without agenda.on >> sean: that's the biggestxa part of what i wanted to discuss. let's go through what donald trump has done. he started the executive orders,
10:17 pm
he eased the burden of obamacare, impending actions to freeze my get rid of 75% of all regulations, he withdrew from tpp. he had a federal hiring freeze. and money from going to foreign countries for abortion. signed executive action for the keystone, the dakota access pipeline. the border law, sanctuary cities, extreme vetting and we will get to that in a minute. he used executive action to rebuild the military, a plan will be on his desk in seven days to defeat isis, neil gorsuch was nominated. saw me with the premise serves canada, great britain, and yesterday of course bibi netanyahu. this is the biggest question i am getting, he is moving at the speed of light, and people have beens asking me, at the top stoy on "the drudge" report today. where is congress? for eight years, you guys had a plan, they kept saying and promising you will repeal and replace obamacare. people want to know, when will
10:18 pm
things get better? >> we are are exactly on the timeline that we set for ourselves. the bill is coming in march. the reason we are doing regulatory reform right now is we have a certain window of time where we can go back into the obama administration and cancel the regulations. it has has a shelflife for just a couple months. we have been consuming, february and march going back into the b obama administration andg canceling the regulations and so first it is regulatory because we have this window of time to 's cancel that obama regulations and then we are doing obamacare. after we're done with that, we are doing our budget. a our budget -- the second's tax reform. working two budgets and one year has never been done before. it's faster than it's ever been done before. there is a legislative process. we've all of these things we ran on, we are now in the middle of
10:19 pm
doing those things and january and february is the regulatory stuff because the clock on the ability to go after obama regulations ends soon. >> sean: here's the big question, the president ran on an agenda. you said he tapped into something that other people missed. we have 13 million more americans on food stamps, 8 million more in poverty. lowest home ownership rate, donald trump says he will build a wall, replace obamacare, vet refugees, makebu america energy independent, seven brackets to three, 15%, allowed repatriation, he runs on education back to the states. building up our military, this is the question that i think conservatives and americans -- the forgotten man election, i heard everything from obamacare will be done day 1.
10:20 pm
it's been all over the map, just from other people. >> it hasn't been all over the map for me. it has on the rumor mills but not for us. we are exactly on the timeline that we laid out for ourselves. that is not the plan. the plan is to repeal and replace the slot like we said. we ran on a plan. tom price helped write that plan. >> sean: it's now a consensus plan? here's my question, i just listed my agenda of what he ran on, for the forgotten man. >> that's the agenda we are working on right now, that's the definition. >> sean: is there an item that you disagree with? you are saying to the american people and conservatives that are inpatient -- including myself -- and you heard my monologue -- >> getting congress to

it is more than that. they believe that they are destined to governmo the world, anyone who does not agree with them, they will kill. they are working on the means to achieve that. their greatest enemy they think is the united states.. they think everyone else is a derivative. they are developing the capacity to deliver on their slogans, death to america, we have a grand mission. it is not a mission that we invent. we did not invent these icbms. we did not invent their nuclear programming. we do not invent the terrorists that they send throughout the middle east and the world. iran has a terror network of dozens and dozens of countries. they operate with their own operatives and instruments. >> sean: they have been fighting proxy wars for decades. >> terrorists themselves, they are building, planning,
10:53 pm
preparing them throughout the world and asia, and africa, and europe, in india, and in this hemisphere as well. >> sean: pretty scary but you know, let me go to are palestinn issue. you said -- the president said one state, two state, may be ati new paradigm. and then talked about settlements briefly. it might be helpful not to for now. i do not want to harp on that point so much as i want to ask this. if this coalition can be built, could it solve that problem too? >> it could. it will begin to affect the persistent refusal to recognize israel and any boundary, which is a source of the israeli-palestinian conflict. the palestinians continue to agitate for israel's destruction.an they do not care about this territory or this settlement.
10:54 pm
everything is a settlement. tel aviv is a settlement. jerusalem is a settlement. we have to get rid of everything, that's what they think. some normalization in the arab world could help begin to change attitudes there. even if we did, i think they would have to come and recognizt the jewish state. you want peace? the first thing is you have to get rid of the thing that prevents peace. the thing that prevents peace is the persistent refusal to recognize the right of the jewish people for a state of their own. >> sean: it's been preconditioned, they don't recognize it -- >> if you want to end the conflict, that is a prerequisite for peace. >> sean: it's interesting, the prime minister and i spokeke off-camera and he was telling me how his wife sarah, the first lady, melania trump, they had a great time and a great relationship. well, things have changed a lot. coming up next, tonight on "hannity"... >> we have already had productive talks with many foreign leaders. to move forward towards stability, security, and peace.
10:55 pm
>> sean: also, our important question of the day, m straight ahead. and peace. >> sean: also, our important question of the it's an important question you ask, but one i think with a simple answer. we have this need to peek over our neighbor's fence. and once we do, we see wonder waiting. every step you take, narrows the influence of narrow minds. bridges continents and brings this world one step closer. so, the question you asked me. what is the key? it's you. everything in one place, so you can travel the world better. batteries you can trust against the ear hair you can't.
10:56 pm
without them you're conducting business with an armpit on the side of your head. that's not just some battery. that's a duracell battery. that's a power you can trust.

if you bundle them both with progressive. i'd like that. great. whoo. you've got soft hands. he uses my moisturizer. see you, dale. bye, rob. >> sean: welcome back to "hannity." president trump during his press conference spoke about his communication with foreign leaders. let's take a look at this. >> on foreign affairs come up with already begun in or miss the productive talks to move forward toward stability, security, and peace in the most troubled regions of the world, of which there are many. we have had great conversations with the united kingdom and meetings, israel, mexico, japan, china, and canada. really, really productive conversations. i would say far more productive than you would understand. >> sean: all right, that leads us to tonight's conversation
11:00 pm
from today. what did you think of the press conference? facebook.com/seanhannity, @seanhannity on twitter. "the first 100 days" with martha maccallum starts right now. >> martha: breaking tonight, president trump came to work swinging today, determined to fight back amidst charges that the white house is a flailing and besieged. he declared apparently out of the blue, let's have a news conference today, shall we. it was the likes of which we have never seen, a full frontal jousting parry with the press and a packed east room at the white house. he slammed them, intel leakers, fake news, congress, perhaps tired of letting others communicate for him, he tried to write their ship as a multi-headed opposition tried to drag it down with a watergate anchor slung around its neck. welcome today 28, everybody. i'm martha maccallum. good happy with us tonight. what may have set
