7:00 am
abby: we've got so many friends. texas, florida, even someone from utah. >> yeah. from my high school. wilson high school over here. >> friends and family. abby: all right. have a good saturday. we'll see you tomorrow, guys. >> before his big rally in florida tonight, president trump stopping at a boeing plant in south carolina yesterday. that's where they're making the new dreamliner plane. trump: we want products made by our workers in our factories stamped with those four magnificent words. made in the usa. >> the president promising more manufacturing jobs for the usa and some here are saying that's a big reason why stocks are up. and why consumer confidence and retail sales are up. are they right? hi, everybody, i'm dagen
7:01 am
mcdowell. this is bulls and bears. joining us this week welcome, everybody. gary b, we know this. the dow is up more than 4% since the inauguration. the best 30 days for any president since fdr in '45. right, gary b? >> exactly, dagen. look, this is a president who has tapped into what the majority of america wants and why they voted for him. look, we have to remember. we're in this little media bubble. even here in fox news. the vast majority of america does not read the new york times. they don't read the new york post. they don't tune into the academy awards. they don't hear what meryl streep has to say. they're normal people. and now they voted for a president out there who says you know what? i'm going to give you jobs. i'm going to protect your
7:02 am
borders. i am looking out for you. you can hate donald trump for all of your worth, but you have to admit he has the americans interest at heart. he wants america to be great. that's why you're seeing this enthusiasm. that's why the stock market is up. i think you're going to see more of the same. dagen: and we've seen companies step it up saying we're going to create more big name jobs. about 55,000 new jobs promised. more than $20 billion promised in investments. so that's real jobs. real money. >> it is and the perception is that you have a very in the white house. and i believe that perception is reality. you look at what happened from the stock market from november 2014 to november 2016. it was essentially flat. the only that changed is that president trump was elected. you have to understand also manufacturing. when you talk about
7:03 am
manufacturing and the jobs lost. there were 18.8 million jobs in 1980. about 12.2 million now in manufacturing. you lost over a third of your jobs. but production. manufacturing and ability has gone up. the future is things like boeing. is high-tech. look at what elon musk did with his tesla factory. his gigafactory. jobs start at $25 an hour. he realized it was more to his advantage economically to build a high-tech manufacturing in the united states. that's what you're going to see, i believe, under this administration and with a lower corporate tax rate. and that is really good for the economy. >> since the election day, $2.7 trillion has been added to the total stock market. that speaks volumes about what people expect from president trump down the road. >> well, certainly markets are reflecting optimism, specifically expectations that president trump along with
7:04 am
congress will have agenda. tax reform, as we've already seen executive action on regulation. so if we do put those policies into place, we can expect for the economy to grow. not just putting people back to work in good jobs but wage growth across the board. and that's good for all american workers. >> chuck, it's even good for union workers. keystone pipeline. how with you not like that? >> well, when barack obama came into office, the stock market was around 8,000, a lot of republicans don't give him credit for that. but guess what? i will give him some credit for that. but also, gary b, i will give donald trump credit too because just like john said, it's a business-friendly environment. when you talk about taking regulations off of business, which i think are bad for consumers. but guess what it's good for? it's good for business. so people start buying a lot more stock. so i will give donald trump credit. gary b says i will go after him on everything. but i do give him credit on this. and i also give him credit
7:05 am
when he's talking about ford and chevrolet and folks keeping jobs in america because i think this is the biggest achilles heel for democrats. you need to understand he's playing outside the box that we're used to playing in and like gary b said, he's talking to those people thank they've been forgotten about by their government. dagen: and, jonas, you're seeing that confidence with businesses and the jobs they're promising but also with individuals with retail sales coming in much better than expected. >> first of all, the made in the usa -- that's not a business-friendly thing -- that is what union -- when you shame a company into putting their jobs here, that is not pro business. that said, all the other stuff trump's doing is pro business, and that far exceeds this show mannship that goes on. as far as the stock market that is all about tax cuts and spending that's going to happen. and that is going to boost stocks. and as far as what gary said,
7:06 am
i actually think a majority of people might start to hate a lot of the things trump is doing. doesn't mean the stock market is going down because the very things those people do watch the academy awards are still good for the stock market. you have to admit it's not going to hurt your stocks. so you might be confident in your 401(k). you might still hate the policies and acknowledge it's good for earnings. dagen: gary b, i want to get you in on this just two days before president trump visited that boeing plant down in south carolina. there was 74% of boeing workers there that voted against unionizing and that will also help create more jobs. big picture about 100,000 jobs boeing helps in south carolina. >> well, you know, a few thoughts. first of all, union membership as we talked about a number of times on this show.
7:07 am
people see it no better than the opec cartel, which it is. holding prices high at the jobs. bowing was entirely with this. chuck is a political strategist. i saw chuck at the back of his car the other day it said trump 2020. so, look, i'm just putting that out there. [laughter] look, i think trump is doing good things. all of this stuff you do is practically good for the economy. i agree with jonas, some of the might not be. but the point is he has the right message out there and that means he's out for them. dagen: and even with the boeing vote against the union, as you point out, trump also appeals to that union worker across the middle of the united states. >> that's why you see consumer confidence up. people in the middle class,
7:08 am
people in the upper middle class, they've been making money off the stock market. they've been making money. as you can see behind me. i'm in las vegas. disapproving back to the economy here like a lot of workers are. and when you're giving that money back, and you're spending that money, you see the confidence go up, you see those companies make more money and gary's right. donald trump's the best thing that ever happened to political consultant, and i'm glad he's there just for that very reason because in four years, there's going to be what we would say in john's world, a free for all and going to be like a big wrestling match on the democratic side. dagen: you've clearly been spending your money on a new jacket for us. >> no. this is my smoking jacket. dagen: john, final word. >> i hate to disagree with gary b. but chuck doesn't have a car. he has a big ol' truck with big mud tires that he uses to go cat fishing with. look, i think the administration has figured something out. companies are hiding money from the united states. look at apple they have
7:09 am
$216 billion in cash but 19% of that is overseas. if you figure a way to row re: patriot that money. dagen: that means president trump is going to have to walk the talk, and you boys know what that means. thanks, guys. cash in just an hour from now. what do you have coming up? >> president trump won the working class but that's not stopping democrats accusing him of waging war on him. so president trump is taking his message straight to the people tonight. is that the best way to get his message out? plus a new report of our crumbling infrastructure. will we pay the price whether we fix it or not? the cashing in will see you at 8:30. dagen: thanks. we can't wait. but up here first. antitrump protesters across the country this week. they didn't cost you a penny. but the next protest just might. we'll explain.

7:13 am
>> live from america's news headquarters in washington. i'm elizabeth. president trump taking his message on the road today. he'll be holding a rally at a airport hanger in melbourne, florida. the same venue where he held a rally during the campaign last september. it's if we could to start at 5:00 p.m. eastern. of course we will bring that to you live. this after the president visited a boeing plant in south carolina yesterday where he talked about jobs and the economy. and authorities in california are cautiously optimistic. the worst is over at the orville dam. engineers say they're confident the lake's spillways will be able to handle any runoff from approaching storms that are expected to bring heavy rain. crews have been working to repair the dam since last week. but people living nearby have been warned to leave at a moment's notice. i'm elizabeth pran in washington d.c. back to bulls and bears. for all of your headlines, log onto foxnews.com.

dagen: protesters hitting the streets nationwide this week to bash president trump's agenda on everything from illegal immigration to the environment. now, some americans are reportedly protesting his policies by reducing to pay their federal income taxes. john, what would happen if everyone who didn't like the government did this? >> we have no revenue. look, these guys are idiots. there's no nice way to say this. to say this happened in history, there's also people who believe the moon is made out of cheese. just because you do something in history makes you unoriginal. it doesn't make you right. i don't like the speed limit. i've gotten tons of speeding tickets in my life. i pay every one of them. you pay your taxes because it's part of the low. protest some other way. if you want to protest, that is your right. not a legal issue like taxes. dagen: has hadly. >> not only is this illegal, but it's really misguided. the people who oppose trump,
7:15 am
let's talk about where our federal taxes go. twenty-four cents of every dollar to social security benefits, 25 cents of every dollar to medicare, medicaid. health care programs $16 to defense and 10 cents to safety net programs. is this what you're to? i don't see president trump changing this a lot. but let's think about the ways we're protesting whether or not they're going to be effective. dagen: jonas, i have two words. leslie snipes. he went to prison for not paying his taxes. >> well, funny you should ask about federal -- don't protest -- if you don't think you legally have to pay some taxes because it's some quacky -- that is a good way to go to prison. that's worse than not paying your taxes. okay. first of all, you don't get to just not pay your taxes. what if -- the tea party people didn't want to pay your taxes because they didn't like obamacare. they require taxes to be semi functional, so you have to pay your taxes, even though your guy is not running the country, or gal.
7:16 am
so that's absurd on the level. but what would happen if everyone did it? we would have to move to high royalty taxes that don't have the ability to collect income taxes because everyone tax outlaw, which hopefully won't happen here because it ruins your economy in some ways to move to that sort of system. dagen: gary b, talking about i'm not going to pay for the wall. well, you know what? i don't like paying for shrimp on a treadmill but that's not my choice. >> is shrimp on a treadmill something that is available to you? dagen: yeah, we have video of it. there you go. boom. >> okay. we'll just leave it at that. look, it's kind of ironic because most of the people, you know, the whole trump resistance are on the left the left generally likes bigger government as john points out, the government would go broke. so they're kind of arguing against one of their main tenants that the government needs more and more revenue. second, i don't even see how most of the people are going to do this because most of the taxes, federal taxes are taken
7:17 am
out automatically via your payroll stub, your w-2. so that's not going to happen. finally, you know, i think the government is right. jonas -- whether it would become a military state and they're knocking on doors to collect taxes or whether the national sales tax, value-added tax. the government will need the money. they will want the money. they're not going to go quietly into that good night, as they say. so really, it's a resistance is kind of silly, i think. dagen: right. and, chuck, a good liberal knows that that government needs money to spend. >> and they know that this liberal is giving a big chunk of it now that i'm a political consultant. look, we should hold the government accountable at every single level and if you disagree to policy, you should go to the streets, you should protest, you should do everything that makes this wonderful and protest. you shouldn't break a window because that's illegal. same thing with paying your taxes. if you're mad because he got elected, don't just not pay your taxes. pay your taxes but show up and vote.
7:18 am
and vote for a democrat that's running for congress or the senate or governor and really make a difference because that's how you let your voice be heard is get out there and actually cast that ballot. dagen: instead of that smoking jacket, i'm surprised you're not wearing a sandwich -- >> well, i ain't going to die. dagen: john. >> look, i think we should spend our money on something wise. i think we should buy a 538-person boat and send congress on about a 90-year cruise. i think that would be the best thing for america. dagen: jonas, you're going to get the final word. >> they don't need 90 years. they still have to pay taxes to pay for our bloated defense budget. so they don't believe in some small policy that's going on. dagen: well, i think you could argue. >> don't earn money. that's the way to not pay taxes. dagen: well, i think you could argue for some of the people who are advocating for this probably aren't normal. anyway.
7:19 am
cavuto on business coming up. >> we're going to have a fair and balanced debate, and you decide for yourself is he right or is he wrong? plus workers walking off the job to join a day without immigrants. big protests. but wait a minute. don't them day without illegal immigrants? see you at the bottom of the hour. dagen: thank you, neil. we'll be watching. but up here first. the trump administration expected to issue a new executive order on refugees next week. but some here say we should try what some european countries are doing. pay refugees to live in their own country. would it work?
7:20 am
why is there neverite, enough of it? a john deere 1 family tractor with quik-park lets you attach and go. imatch quick-hitch gives you more timewhat y. so it takes less work to do more work. autoconnect drive-over mower deck?
7:21 am
done. they're not making any more land. but there's plenty of time if you know where to look. now you can own a 1e sub-compact tractor for just $99 a month. learn more at your john deere dealer. dagen: president trump said to roll out a new executive order. but someone said try this instead.
7:22 am
hand out money to refugees to
7:23 am
dagen: president trump expected to sign a new executive order on refugees next week. one he hopes will survive the courts. now, some here say we should do what germany and sweden are doing. offer refugees cash payments to return to their homeland. john, you like this idea? >> i don't like the idea of paying them to stay in their homeland or return. i like the idea of helping them over there. you've got to understand what germany did. germany helped about 450,000 refugees with about $80 million. understand what we did last year. we helped about 70,000 refugees relocate with $1.1 billion because we're going over there and flying them back to the united states. we should help. the question is how. taking that billion dollars or whatever it's going to be and expending it over the middle east to help those refugee camps make their life better over there and help them
7:24 am
integrate into societies they're already in is a much better help and much more humanitarian to help more people than it is to just fly a few refugees over here. a very small percentage. dagen: pay them to return. i know you've done the cost-benefit analysis. >> i have, actually, and it turns out the u.s. spends in the first five years to resettle someone from the middle east about $65,000. so in a kind of modified marshal plan, if you will, if we spend anything less than the $65,000, say, it's $30,000. turns out to do a lot of good things. the refugees have the money, they can spend it as they see fit. i think it helps goodwill toward the u.s. it addresses the concerns of many americans here about refugees coming in potentially being terrorists or taking jobs or, you know, shopping off the great welfare system we have. it's probably a smart idea as long as the numbers work out. dagen: jonas. >> we made a mistake in world
7:25 am
war ii not letting more refugees go but that's because there was nowhere to go in europe. syrians aren't under that kind of intense pressure. so there are solutions that are probably more cost effective and will help more syrians, which is ultimately what you want to do, not just so you can feel good about the mistakes you made in the past as a country. we don't want to go overboard because steve jobs' dad was a syrian immigrant. so you don't want to have no immigration. but i think just letting people in isn't the way to go. dagen: chuck, you like this idea? >> i think it's interesting. germany had a unique problem, and i think a lot of our focus on the middle east we should keep in context here that a huge part of our influx from refugees come from western africa where people are fleeing for their lives. there's a young refugee who works for me who came here he was 2 years old who goes to howard university who is going to be an amazing u.s. citizen. we shouldn't put everybody together on one pot. dagen: has hadly.
7:26 am
>> a lot of refugees we have to consider there's too much too fast, and we have to consider something now. dagen: and a big drop off in terms of refugees coming in about 600,000 less. thank you, guys. has hadly and chuck, always great to see both of you. and snap. why all the buzz about snapchat going public has one of our guys saying you should snap up a different stock. next. remember when you said men are superior drivers? yeah... yeah, then how'd i get this... ...allstate safe driving bonus check? ...only allstate sends you a bonus check for every six months you're accident free. silence. it's good to be in, good hands.
7:27 am
. . .
7:28 am
7:29 am
>> predictions, go. >> dagen, i have investing rule of thumb, never buy a stock whose stock is free, that includes snapchat. apple up 30% this year. dagen: john. >> a way to play with huge deal. i own it. it's up 20%.
7:30 am
dagen: jonas. >> software improvement the google network is not much closer to being a reality but the old-fashion internet can make you money with 20% of the year. dagen: speaking of hot air, that's it for us. niel, everybody, is right now. >> the media is trying to tack our administration because they know we are following through on pledge that is we made and they are not happy about it, for whatever reason. tomorrow the headlines are going to be donald trump rants, i'm not ranting. neil: you know, he's right. i'm niel cavuto and like i said, he got that one to a tee because an hour and 17 minute conference and accusing the media, here at fox we are all for fair and balance and giving you the good
