this means lifting restrictions on oil on shale and natural gas and on clean coal. we are going to put the miners back to work. the miners will go back to work. you want to enforce immigration laws and to defend our borders. you want their trade deals end of level playing field. we don't have a level playing field. you understand that the american workers win, america as a country winds and winds bid and every country over the last long period of time has been taking it a niche of the stupidity it of our politicians. it's not going to happen any longer. [applause] you want lower taxes, less regulation, and millions of new jobs and more products stamped

with those beautiful, beautiful words, made in the usa. [applause] laura: and one apparently unfiltered moment the president told a supporter on stage. >> madam president trump during the election promised all these things he was going to do for us , i knew he was going to do this for us. c a star is born. laura: the present later joked that the secret service was probably not happy about that and just across the street from the rally the opposition was out in force as well. protesters gathered was signed but the crowds broke up once the rally got underway. kristen fisher has the latest on the trump administration that but we begin with steve harrigan at the rally. what was the mood like at today's event quetta looked pretty big. reporter: laura there was rock music playing for hours before the president got here and

packed about 9000 people in here. that's all the airport hangar in melbourne florida can hold that there were thousands that didn't get in. the line began forming before dawn and stretched for blocks almost one mile people wanting to get into see president trump. his first attack at the outset was on the mainstream media. the media has been hitting hard. they got a huge round of applause and when we talk to people outside who were waiting hours in line to see him they echoed some of his comments that they believe president trump's not getting a fair shake from the media. >> we see a lot of negative fake news out there and we are not seeing people supporting him every day like you see all these people here. we are like way, we have summary supporters for him and we just does want to come out and show him that we are so thankful that he is there and he is looking out for the american people. reporter: it is little odd to be standing on the podium with all the cameras here.

president trump attack the media and we heard the crowd go wild. there were two huge applause lines one when he attacked the mainstream media in the second when he attacked radical -- radical islamist terrorists who we quote are going to get the hell out of it -- hell out of here. as far supporters go it was an unusual move halfway through the 40 minute speech to pull one of those supporters up on stage with him. apparently president trump record is one of the people interviewed several times including bite us who got first in line who came out of 4:00 in the morning to see president trump. he brought them up on stage. earlier we talked to the trump supporter and here's what he had to say. do you feel like he needs a boost right now? >> i don't think he needs a boost. you know what you know what a boost is? when he comes off air force one today, it's us, we do people. that's what's going to fire him up. that's why he won. he loves us.

reporter: it's a real question now of what kind of boost is going to be and how short-term or long-term. a person want to show he could bring up the numbers. he certainly was able to do that tonight. pass the president has gone out early after elections but usually to push a certain item like president george w. bush trying to push a tax cut. there was no single issue and it felt like a campaign rally and was sponsored by trump for 220. back to you. laura: steve in the middle of it all thanks to much. meanwhile the trump of is working to build its team. meetings are set for tomorrow for national security adviser. that after the white house fired michael flynn. we are told david petraeus out of the running and the list includes three military officials plus ambassador john bolton of "fox news" contributor. our team coverage continues now with kristin fisher.

what are you hearing about the latest on the search for the national security advisor? reporter: laura on his way to the rally on board air force one he said the process of finding a new national security advisers going very well and had hoped to announce his decision about who is next national security advisor will be in the next couple of days. with the last two hours we have learned president trump is going to be meeting with four candidates tomorrow at mar-a-lago and their west point superintendent lieutenant general robert kaplan acting security adviser keith kellogg or mia in a bus with her jumbled and lieutenant general h.r. mcmaster. there is potentially more meetings with more candidates in the pipeline but for now those are the four names that are definitely meeting with the president tomorrow. also happening tomorrow president trump is going to taking calls with three more world leaders and he's also going to be sitting down with several members of his senior staff and health secretary tom price to discuss the

administration's strategy to repeal our place obamacare. another busy working weekend in west palm beach. laura: while the president was here the vice president was overseas. what do we know about what he had to say? report that this is the first major foreign-policy speech of the entire trump presidency. this was also vice president pence's very first trip overseas as vice president so feel -- a big deal for hippie was speaking at the munich security conference in germany and he said the trump administration plans to push for peace and strength and tried to reassure our european allies that the trump administration remains committed to nato. c today on behalf of president trump by bringing this assurance the united states of america strongly supports nato and will be unwavering in our commitment to this transatlantic alliance. laura: the vice president also addressed russia. he said the u.s. will continue to hold russia accountable even as we continue to search for more, and get ground. laura: kristin will have more on the security conference on the fox report. the president has been in office for nearly a month so what are the people saying about how he's doing so far? reporter: "fox news" released a poll yesterday and it shows his approval disapproval ratings are about even. when voters were asked do you approve or disapprove of the job of mr. trump is doing as president 48% approved and 47% disapproved and 6% said they don't know. another poll that i want to draw your attention to is this one though. voters were asked who is more likely tell the public the truth the trump administration or reporter's?

this man right here was arguably the face of radical islam in the 80s and 90s. in fact he was credited as inspiration of the september 11 attacks. the blind sheikh his link to the 1993 bombing of the world trade center in which a truck bomb detonated below the north tower killing six and injuring over 1000 others. while not convicted of the attack directly prosecutors said he inspired the seven men who carried out the attack that he was known for his radical sermons at mosques in you know dark city and new jersey and early 90s denouncing the united states and israel calling for jihad or holy war against what he called the infidel. he was found guilty in 1995 of conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks in the u.s. including blowing up the united nations headquarters a federal building to tunnels and a bridge. he wanted to do all of that in one day in new york city as well as conspiring to assassinate then republican senator of new

rally today a replacement is on the way. >> we want a health care system and by the way we are going to be submitting in a couple of weeks a great health care plan that takes place of the disaster obamacare. it's called repeal and replace. lorne garrett tenney has more from our d.c. bureau on this. what is the status of republican's efforts here? reporter: we are a long ways away from anything showing up in the presence desk but this week we got a first glance at what the g.o.p. has in mind for the replacing replacing repeal efforts and thursday house leadership met with republicans behind closed doors to lay out their vision for the replacement bill we are told that was more about the big picture ideas rather than the fine details of how it will work. ultimately g.o.p. leadership including house republican conference chair kathy met morris rogers said the changes

will create a more patient-centered health care system. >> when you think about the replacement provisions and the expansion of health-based accounts. what we are going to do with medicaid. it is tax credits. if those provisions we believe are going to lead to a smooth transition to a patient-centered health care approach. for. under the leadership's plan americans would no longer receive subsidies from the government for buying insurance or the on line marketplace. said every american would receive refundable tax credits to buy coverage. medicaid reform is you heard represents what the morris mentioned reform is a big part of g.o.p. plan including eliminating the medicaid expansion that occurred under obamacare. it's important to note within the g.o.p. there is plenty of disagreement over both of those specific proposals as well as other parts of the plants of members are expecting a lot of debate when they get back in town to work through those in -- issues and to figure how they

are going to pay for all of this. laura: gareth what are people saying about the chance of democrats are going to get on board with this plan? for. it's like justin bieber says, never say never. there's no indication will happen. the good news for republicans they have enough of a majority in the house that they can pass whatever bill they decide on as long as they get all their members behind it and that is the challenge for the last two years. it's a favorite attack lines among democrats who repeatedly brought it up at a town hall this morning in new york city. >> the republicans have said that they want to repeal and replace but we know that's a smokescreen and a mirage. repeal and replace is a slogan. it's not a solution. they have no credible plan. laura: the entire state of california facing some dangerous weather this weekend. in the south folks are getting hammered with torrential downpours. the storm is blamed for the deaths of at least two people and tens of thousands of people are still without power. northern california crews are working round-the-clock to shore up the largest deal him in the before more rain falls. oroville dam. we have been talking about this all week to the situation at the dam force the decoration of some 188,000 people last weekend. we have fox team coverage on all this. will carr monitoring the storm damage down south but first we go to alicia live from oroville california with the latest on the dam repairs. alicia some people are still not

home to nikon is that right? reporter: sandhu remained in the evacuation center right now but that is by choice. the mandatory evacuation order was lifted on tuesday but it came with a warning for four authorities that folks need to be ready to get out fast. >> i want to continue to remind people we are still operating under an emergency situation. there is always the risk or there is always the potential that as the risk increases we could go back to the level requiring an immediate evacuation. reporter: among the people who live below the oroville dam there's a combination of panic and planning underway some promising not to wait until authorities bring another round of mandatory evacuations of their doorsteps. rather if they see the water levels rising again they will leave. laura you heard the sheriff say there is a warning for a possible evacuation however he

thinks it's the likelihood is pretty low it will happen again. laura: what's being done with her pairs of the dam? >> keep looking at the big hole in the know there's a lot of work to be done. doesn't look like it's going to be done fast. how's it going? reporter: neither easy nor fast and crews have been working 24 hours a day around-the-clock to avoid a potential disaster. the water authority is telling people the lake water level is lower but we need that extra room in the reservoir and we have been watching helicopters dropping rocks in cement to fill in the areas depleted by erosion all day. the crews are trying to get as much done as possible before the arrival of what is referred to as the next atmospheric river. >> the storm we are having today but also the one we are hearing about on monday and tuesday. that's important. there is a lot of concern over that but i would suggest the reason why we have spent so much effort to remove water from the

reservoir is to allow the storms to come in. reporter: the reservoir right now is at 855 feet above sea level. they're hoping to get that level by the end of the weekend to 850 feet because there is another 10 inches of rain expected to come here. it's not just that fresh rainwater that's the danger it's that fresh run up and when it hits the pillow brings down debris and it will melt some of that snow in the mountains and it will then add to the water levels here. some people are still pretty nervous. laura: every day gets sketchier as we watch the weather commence a hopefully everything holds. thanks much for that report and keep us updated. in southern california there have been downed trees and power lines and even sinkholes and could continue into early next week. california is getting it. will carr is live in studio city. how much rain did they get in

studio city to create the sinkhole? this is a very populated area. reporter: they got 6 inches of rain last night and within the last hour or two we had another come through here with a lot of rain. they brought a lot of equipment into up the water and the last thing they want to do is have anyone get into the sinkhole which is across the street. take a look at some of the video shows the aftermath of what happened around 8:00 in the neighborhood last night. that's when they first opened up and swallow two cars. one had a woman in it. she was in a mercedes suv. she was able to get out the car and she climbed on the trunk and started screaming for help. firefighters raced to the scene and pulled her out. a short time later the other car fell into the hole. thankfully no one was seriously injured. we talk to one resident earlier that lives around here. let's listen to what he had to save. >> have a hole that big and that

deep with cars falling and it hopefully they are strapped in because that probably saved them from being injured. reporter: take a look at that woman's suv at her and was pulled out of the sinkhole. the shows you how dangerous this actually was. they had to close down the airport when the runway flooded. lax in los angeles. flights were impacted and more than 80,000 people without power throughout the los angeles area. laura: what does the city do to make sure the streets surrounding areas are safe? i have lifted now they -- l.a. for a number of years. once you have the rain you have the season called a the mudslide season so what's being done to keep people safe? reporter: that's right, right now what they are doing is trying to stabilize and you can see the metal sheets. they will be putting those into the holes and do everything they can to secure it.

one big question we have had from a lot of people who live in the area is how will they know if there will be another sinkhole especially with more storms that are supposed to come we spoke to one city engineer to take a listen to what he said. >> we are expecting some indentations in the streets. we will see a bowl shaped in the street. reporter: the other thing they have going on is they have cameras running through sewer pipelines picking sure they are okay. the reason this happened was it was an 8-year-old sewer pipeline that had soil go into it. that created a bubble which created the sinkhole. laura: incredible images. will carr thank you so much. still to come on "the fox report" we'll introduce you to a family of refugees working to make a new home in the united states. the inspiring story of hope. >> the american people give hope to these families.
