thank you for joining us. we appreciate it. >> absolutely. good afternoon. >> i think you'll have a little bit of a difference of opinion here. the rally yesterday backing up the president's first month and off this. i want to get your reaction to the media reaction. perhaps a little different from the reaction we saw after the press conference last week. i want to ask you, was his message more effective? >> i think it was right on. he is going to be keeping his promises. i think that you will look for him to continue his movement on fulfilling those promises. i think the one thing that he relayed to the american people was the fact that government is moving slow. he is used to running things like a business and he is used to act fast. i think he is letting us know

and expose same kind of the behind-the-scenes of government. i think it was great. it was informative and touched on what he had done and what he is trying to do. the relationship i will say but the media going forward is going to be strained and this is why you are going to see him every day on twitter. >> i assume you have a little bit of a difference from the action and setting up the first month. donald trump as saying things are running very well behind the scenes and then we heard no well say that really he is used to things working at a different pace. >> e. as a chief executive. there is no question having spent 10 years in government and does not move at the speed and that is frustrating to president

trump was at a circular as chief executive. go in after the public, been in the rally, that is his element and gets his energy. indirectly to the people. here is what i would say about the fact that mess. i was equally as critical of president obama for being the campaigner in chief during his eight years in the white house says. guest comment you need to go to the people, engaged to people to governing in convincing congress to get on board with your agenda. there has to be a balance they are and you can't rely on public opinion or rallies to actually do the business. >> the president had no shame in the fact as a campaign event. >> i think rightfully so. i disagree. the reason i disagree with my

week i sat down with ukrainian foreign minister. they have a little bit of its hands with russians meddling in internal politics and invaded their country. listen to what he said. >> listen, the russians can't be trusted and secondly, any deal with the russians should be on the basis of strength. >> echoing ronald reagan, peace through strength. we are talking, not necessarily at the top level for the president level. is there a feeling the trump administration wants to deal for a position of strength or are they willing to negotiate more weight? >> i think there's a lot of questions. basic and that the president's message reaching out to the russians have the same positive things about putin is marked because it opens the door for living cooperation on key areas. at the same time, it doesn't necessarily show the level of

ground and keep engaged in the conversation because the right thing to do. elizabeth: i heard a woman in the crowd or whatever you do, do not privatize it that is where some of the fears are. is that which you are getting from the crowd, the fears that someone be privatized and perhaps taken away. what were they voicing to you? >> i definitely heard a message through the five hours there was a lot of disruption, equity and yelling. when i had the conversation, there is a belief in an age that they trusted the government much more than i do. i want to empower people to make choices and bring market pressures to bring us down. elizabeth: was surprised you most about yesterday? you anticipated some of the animosity. obviously very personal. people's lives depend on it. was surprised to yesterday? >> doesn't surprise me. we've been doing town halls in day one. he's got a listen to people in the 200 plus town halls that
