steve: we've got some more quick tuesday headlines for you. first up this painting portraying police as pigs has been hung -- has been hung for a while and then taken down, up, down, up, down, now it is the center of a lawsuit. democratic congressman lacey clay expected to file suit this morning against the architect of the u.s. capitol for removing the painting from the capitol complex.
5:25 am
clay argues removing the painting violates his constituents right to free speech. and american grammar is racist and has an unjust language structure. that message coming from the university of tacoma's writing center. this poster now hangs in the center saying the school will prioritize rhetoric over grammatical correctness. brian: could be today holding firm his promise to keep americans safe. >> i've taken decisive action to keep radical islamic terrorists of hell out of our country. brian: our next guest stands with the president saying the countries included in the order are an absolute mess and there's a reason so many of them are running to get here. joining us right now to discuss it, u.s. army veteran

what do you think of general mcmaster? >> outstanding pick. he understands the nature of our enemy at the tactical level but also the nature of the fight at the strategic level. this guy's been in combat, is a captain engaging tanks as a tank commander but also a rest of town in attack that he is a commander that has made sure that the counter insurgent strategy has worked. he is universally respected and what's so unique about his background, he's been in the fight tactically, and then moves as a strategist and then gets back on the tactical side. no better thinker. no better warrior. and alongside mattis and kelly and the team that has already been built, he will do a great job. he's also going to have to be willing to challenge president trump if he has a different opinion. this guy wrote the book on challenging a president. about the failure of joint chiefs in vietnam to challenge political assumptions. so i think this guy is going to give honest advice to the president. brian: and we understand that

5:39 am
you say you take a different position than secretary macdonald did who fought against a lot of these accountability bills? >> well, i think what i heard the secretary saying is it's very important to have a due process. you don't want to fire people. >> i could be fired right now. half of our viewers could be fired when they walk into work right now for not doing their job. but you have va workers that sell cocaine or watch porn at work. >> watch us. people who show up to work and do cocaine or watching porn at work are going to be fired because i'm not going to tolerate it, and they're going to be out of our system, and you watch our results there. but remember, we're talking about the vast, vast majority of our employees are dedicated -- they could be working anywhere in health care. but they choose to work at the va, and i'm going to support them, and i'm going to stand behind them. >> a lot of people who have been fighting this on the front lines already are whistle-blowers. the reason we know about phoenix to begin with where
