10:00 pm
>> tucker: that is all true by the way. whatever you thought of his political opinions, he was a deeply nice man and gentle. we will miss him. good night. >> kimberly: welcome back to "hannity." i'm kimberly guilfoyle and for sean. ban and once again called the media the opposition party. watch this. >> look at the opposition party and how they portray the campaign, how they portrayed transition, how they portrayed the administration. it's always wrong. if you remember, the campaign is most chaotic by the media description, most chaotic, most unorganized, then you saw them all crying and weeping thatao night just like they were dead wrong on the campaign, just like
10:01 pm
they're dead wrong on the transition they're absolutely w dead wrong about what's going on today because we have a team that's grinding it through president donald trump promised the americanan people. the mainstream media better understand something all the promises are going to be up lamented. m they are corporatist, global cyst media that are adamantly opposed to an economic nationalist agenda like donald trump has. he is going to continue to press his agenda and as economic it's conditions get better as more jobs get better, they're going to continue to fight. if you think they're going to give you your country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken. >> kimberly: bannon also talked about president trump's agenda. it was take a look. >> if you want to see the trump agenda, it's pretty simple. it was all his speeches. he went around to these rallies with a tremendous amount of content in them. all he is doing right now is
10:02 pm
he's laid out ans agenda with those speeches and the promises he made, and our job every day is just to execute on that. it's to simply get a path to how they are executed. he's maniacally focused on that. every business leader with head and said it's not just taxes, it's also regulation. if you look at these cabinet appointees, they were selected for a reason. that is the deconstruction, the way the progressive left runs is if they can't get it passed, if it's good to put in some kind of regulation in an agency, that's all going to be deconstructed. >> kimberly: vice president mike pence capped off the night with a rousing speech, here are some of the highlights. >> you have elected a man for president who never quits, he never backs down, he is a fighter, he is a winner, and i promise you, he will never stop fighting until we make america great again.ck this is the chance we worked so hard to see, this is the time to prove again that our answers are
10:03 pm
the right answers for america. a strong military, more jobs, less taxes, respect for the constitution, and the valuesob that made america great in a deep and abiding faith in theon goodness of the american people. let me assure you, america's obamacare nightmare is about to end. >> kimberly: joining us with a reaction, our former obama economic advisor, austan goolsbee, and trump transition executive committee member, anthony scaramucci. from what wei see from the medi, does steve bannon have a point in calling them the opposition party? >> listen, the media has been very rough on the administration. they wereni rough on the transition and the campaign. for those three reasons, i think steve is t right. this is a great day for the administration.
10:04 pm
the messaging was fantastic. peopleta got to see the harmony between reince priebus and steve bannon, which isn't well reported in the media. they also got to hear from the vice president. the messaging isic fantastic. it's a great lead-in for president trump tomorrow. the really goody news is that te business council dinner is going on in d.c. right now. there's 100 business leaders down there. i left d.c. aha couple hours ag, and the business community is very fired up about the president. you can see it in the stock market. >> kimberly: you are part of the transition team can be worked on a daily basis with the president, with rents previous and it steve bannon and what was your experience like with mark >> they are great guys. you heard what steve was saying about the deconstruction of the idea right now, and often isn't going to like this, but the idea is to unravel all these regulations that led to the 1% growth. give it agu little bit of time, and you will see that the e economy humming. a steve mnuchin was on this morning talking about the tax policies. there will be a harmony here, and the team is really starting to cometa together.
10:05 pm
i thought the messaging was fantastic today. >> kimberly: certainly strong message of unity there in achieving, a lot of the goals and objectives that candidates trump has promised to achieve as president trump. what did you make of the situation today, specifically steve bannon talking about enacting the economic nationalist agenda of president trump? >> there was a lot going on and whatat he saw steve bannon sayi. opposite, it's a red crowd, so he wants to throw them some red meat. >> kimberly: their bellies are full after that. >> yeah, i guess i would object to one thing which is he portrayed it that chaos is completely created by the media and not reality. let's remember, it was not the media who hired and then had to fire at the national securityur advisor in the first three weeks. it was not the media who signed
10:06 pm
an executive order on immigration at three different federal court said it was unconstitutional and ill-thought through. it wasn't the who promised during the campaign to have a secret plan to replace obamacare that was going to cost less, cover all americans, and to beo better in every dimension come upns fact, donald trump had no such plan, and they are scrambling now to figure it out. maybe it wasn't the right venue, but this -- we could never admit that we did anything wrong that we ever made an error or that we are going to try and fix it. i think it's not healthy. i think that the trump people run the risk of squandering their honeymoon. this is when you pass things, the first six months or when you passed up. >> kimberly: they're trying to do that, the other party has been obstructionist in terms of not allowing him to have his cabinet picks. >> listen. often and i are good friends. we go back a long time. that washa the whole vacantit
10:07 pm
situation. we are going to disagree on this. the president does have a a pla. he is probably getting that plan every day. are they going to mistakes in the early part of the administration? nobody knows that better than austan goolsbee. we saw that happen in many administrations but the gelling of the team is there, the messaging is getting tighter. i could see him smiling becauset he knows it's true. the stock market something that we follow very closely has been on a tear and that's because people see growth, they see a tax cut coming, they see earnings revitalization and profits for companies, but you know what else they see? they see middle-class wages growing because of president trump's agenda and his jobs program. so, yes, is it perfect? nothing's perfect. i like what i see i know over the next 60 days, you're good to be very happy with this administration. >> kimberly: i'm being nice,t what we saw here across the country was this strong movement of working-class men and women that came out in droves for
10:08 pm
president trump that really felt they were left behind, they want to put food on the table at the money to pay the bills, and send their kids to good schools. they feel like they were left behind the by the obama administration.. >> first, they came out in droves, he has never had the support of the majority of the american people, not in the election. >> kimberly: he won the election, how about that? >> for a new president he has the lowest approval rating in the history of polling for a nec president, that includes the fox news pole. i would be a little careful. he did strike a chord, we saw wage growth over the last 1.5 years, but for sure, we've gone through a 25 year period that's been very tough on ordinary americans. i hope he does succeed at continuing the growth we have had, and the 15 million jobs we've added in the last seven years. i hope we continue that. that would be great for the
10:09 pm
economy. but he has not filed, let's call it the jfkfk strategy. jfk barely wins the election. he wins bigger than trump won, but t it's a very narrow victor. she comes in, and the first thing he does, he says he's going to appoint republicans to major positions in my cabinet and start policies of things that we can agree on and give me agr chance. i will govern for both sides. trump is not taken the approach, and i think it will cost him after a few years. >> kimberly: your a reaction. >> 1962 is not calling us anymore unfortunately, you're in a totally different environments down there in washington. the president came as a change agent, the american people are listening. we can talk about the polls if you want, i think the results that are going to matter, let's give this a little bit of time. 100 days from now, my prediction is the stock market will be continuing on its upward trajectory and the tax-cut will be looming, it will be very good for the american people very
10:10 pm
good for the middle-class and good for the middle-class and working-class families. >> kimberly: people expecting results as it relates to obamacare. real quick, as it relates to it's general flynn, it was the media that was perpetuated this false narrative that he had committed a crime the law he did not violate, the logan act, there was no finding of wrongdoing with respect to general flynn and the president was clear about that. >> than why did donald trump fire him? that was my only question. >> kimberly: of the issue relates to what he had to say to vice president pence. it's unfortunate, but you still got to move forward the agenda. that's what we heard very strongly from the president and his team today at cpac. 2 gentlemen, thank you so much. coming up, we will have more highlights on cpac and get reaction from dr. bill bennett. and later. >> you see what's happening atat the border of the sun for the first time, gang members out, drug lords out. were getting really bad dudes
10:11 pm
out of this country. at a rate that nobody's ever seen before. they're the bad ones. >> kimberly: that was president trump earlier today talking about his immigration agenda. this, as speaker of the house paul ryan toured the southern border yesterday congressman mike mccaul, they'll be here later with details. plus, it was a hard day for the fox news family, our dear friend and colleague alan colmes passed away at the age of 66, sean will join us later, stay with us. want longer lasting heartburn relief? try...duo fusion fusion goes to work in seconds and lasts up to 12 hours. tums only lasts up to 3. for longer lasting relief...in one chewable tablet try duo fusion from the makers of zantac dearthere's no other way to say this.

10:16 pm
far one of the toughest jobs of seat of my life to make it run every day and make the trains, you only see the surface. what's going on underneath and planning three weeks on the road to the degree that we are planning, all these illustrations. reince is indefatigable and saying we have to drive this board, and we have to drive this forward . this started back in august, when we have this campaign, we are out run, outmanned, outspent. it was because president trump had a message, he has his charisma, and he has people like here at cpac, it would just our heads down. reince has been unwavering since the very first moment i met him. >> kimberly: that was white house chief of staff reince priebus, and white house chief strategist steve bannon at cpac earlier today, giving some insight into the relationship, and of the inter-workings of the trump administration. joining us now with reaction is fox news contributor and host of the bill bennett podcast.stti you can listen to this and that
10:17 pm
subscribe to his brand-new free podcast dedicated "translating trump." on itunes. bill bennett, thank you so much for joining us. your reaction and the joint cpac appearance. it was quite interesting. everybody was tuning in. a lot of discussion about what's going on in the different factions of the administration. you have the two top guys in there. thisis put to rest the theory tt priebus and bannon don't get along. >> it should but i doubt that it will. i love him, but we've seen to be reince before. but steep income of this was a sunlight debut for him. they are different guys, but they get along very well. this was the right kind of debut for steve bannon. i think you know him a little bit. the guy was direct but not dark. he was straightforward but not sinister. he was candid but not scary so,
10:18 pm
i think he did fine. obviously, a very smart guy, operating at a high level and engaged in a high level argument, which no doubt, the media and the corporatist, as he called them, will now take up. are there going of course. w be rivalries in the white house? will there be differences of opinion between the chief of staff and the chief strategist? of course. i remember being a near secretary of education being summoned to the white house many times because of disagreements.a it was usually because i wanted a lower budget and some ofec president reagan's people wanted a higher budget but ronald reagan always fixed that. these are strong men with strong points of view. the issues are tough, the load is incredible, there will be differences. i thought it was just fine, and a good idea. >> kimberly: a good idea, otherwise there's been a lot of public discourse about it. we've seen things on "saturday night live" and otherwise. this man that went forward to speak on his own behalf, steve bannon did. someone who was such a big part
10:19 pm
of the movement across the country. the trump movement, that brought out in droves the working class men and women of america that thought they were forgotten. it's nice to perhaps, hear from someone who is on the inside and talking a little bit about the messaging and now the movement and direction of the conservative party. >> i think it's a conservative trump party a trump conservative party. a little bit different coloration, a different emphasis. there's a clear intellectual base for this. you can accuse steve bannon of a lot of things, maybe gratuitously after today. he's very, very smart. as is reince priebus. he saw a lot of enthusiasm there at cpac too. what i thought was key, i don't know if you thought this, was that match lap who was the host and reince both talked about the fusion of conservatism and the republican party, and that that
10:20 pm
is kind of an unstoppable force. i don't know if it's always unstoppable, but it's pretty informal. gnashing of teeth and rending of garments during the campaign it would be a total split of conservatism and republicanism. it's finding its way, there will still be disagreements. what's the old saying? the dogs bark but the caravans moves forward? the dogs are barking, i thought it was very interesting what bannon had to say about the press.th if you think the press, the mainstream media, will give up t this country without a fight, you've got another thing coming. he's right about that. >> kimberly: kind of a call to arms to say you cannot rest on your laurels. if you want this movement to continue forward in thee agendant to enact his that he was voted in on wholeheartedly, you're going to have to fight for it. do you think that was a significant unifying message and moment to try and pitch this movement against the mainstream media?o
10:21 pm
>> i think it was reassuring to people, simply the presence of those two together was a good thing. it was kind of a call to arms and for perseverance in this effort. they're going to go after donald trump every day. one of the things that happen for me, i hope you don't mind me mentioning this. he talked about similarity between these two guys, we hadt this podcast that's now out with mike pence, vice president pence and he talked about how awestruck he is with the job come up with the history, we follow that with a podcast interview with steve wynn, he described going through a tour of the white house with donald trump. he said the most reassuring thing to me was to see how awestruck, how respectful donald trump was of that white house and its history.
10:22 pm
that to me, as a citizen, is a very good sign. these guys know what a big deal this is, what they are part of. they take it very seriously. as well they should, i'm glad to be part of this even if it's an onlooker. >> kimberly: absolutely interesting, with that big job, raising all the money as a finance chair for the party going forward. dr. bennett, we look forward to your podcast, congratulations. the two key interviews that we are excited about it, you'll have steve bannon coming up. thank you so much to him a that on itunes. coming up next, right here on "hannity." >> you see what's happening at the border. all of a sudden, for the first time, we are getting gang members out, we are getting drug lords out, we are getting really bad dudes out of this country. and at a rate that nobody's ever seen before. they are the bad ones. >> kimberly: that was president trump earlier today talking about his new immigration guidelines. this comes after speaker of the
10:23 pm
house paul ryan toured the southern border. congressman mike mccaul and john carter who went with t speaker ryan yesterday will join us next to explain what they saw. and later. >> i think donald trump is already done a number of things which legitimately raise the question of impeachment. >> kimberly: congressman keith ellis one of the favorites to be the next chair of the dnc claims that president trump could be impeached. steve hilton, charles hurt, and richard fowler will have a reaction, that and much more as "hannity" continues. , that and s "hannity" continues as a control enthusiast, i'm all-business when i travel... even when i travel... for leisure. so i go national, where i can choose any available upgrade in the aisle - without starting any conversations- -or paying any upcharges.

10:28 pm
because what has been allowed to come into our country, when you see gang violence that you've read about like never before, all of the things, much of that is people that are here illegally. they're rough and they're tough, but they're not tough like our people. >> kimberly: that was president donald trump earlier today at the white house talking about how he is working to keep america safe. white house press secretary h sean spicer later clarified the president's military operation, saying that he was using that as an adjective. yesterday, speaker of the house paul ryan toured the u.s.-mexico border, and joining me now is one of the lawmakers that was with speaker ryan yesterday, chairman of the house committee on homeland security, congressman mike mccaul, think serving on the graham demise. what did you see on your tour of the border yesterday, did anything that you see impact or change your opinion about what's necessary? >> well, it was a very productive trip to have the speaker come down, he's never seen it before.
10:29 pm
you really have to see the border to understand it. he sought from the air by black hawk helicopter, by river patrol boats, and by land on horseback. i think of a lot of what we saw, most importantly, is the morale of border patrol has increased exponentially since the last time i was down there. i think that's because they now have a president in thent white house that supports them, and we now have the political will to finally get this done. and i just can't emphasize that enough. i think one of the greatest takeaways also, kimberly, isis when you look at what you call the wall or infrastructure to provide physical barriers, they have a levee system that's made of concrete that i think can provide a very creative way that the community accepts. because it helps against flood to provide flood control. a way to but not offend the local
10:30 pm
communities down on the border. we in texas have a difficult challenge because unlike in o san diego and el paso which has a lot of fencing already, we have a river that goes from el paso down to mcallen and into the gulf of mexico. i thought it was very insightful, there are some greatest takeaways. >> kimberly: i was reading some articles earlier, you are on record, you didn't believeti perhaps that a wall might be necessary based on what you saw, what did you mean by that? >> i said consistently that physical barriers are necessary. we're going to see more fencing down there. when you look at the levees, they are made out of concrete.sa they do provide a wall, a physical concrete wall in the rio grande valley. but i think you have to have a smart border too that not only relies on physical barriers but also technology. kimberly, it's very important to have aviation assets, sensors,
10:31 pm
surveillance, so we have 100% visibility to see from the sky what's happening on the ground. and the cameras to pick up what's happening as well. >> kimberly: you have to utilize all the tools necessary to be able to effectuate that safety and national security. real quick, what are you looking for to see in between mexico and our new secretary of state rex tillerson? >> i think to have a concerted effort to secure our southern border and mexico's southern border and, quite frankly, mexico's southern they have a border problem of their own. i think working together with mexico to get this thing done is very important, i think rex tillerson is a talented guy. i talked to the mexican ambassador myself, he wants to work with us to get that security. i think it's possible. >> kimberly: mutually beneficial, both sides have interest in making sure security is maintained. congressman mccaul, thank you so much for your time.ne >> thanks. >> kimberly: joining us now isfo another republican lawmaker to
10:32 pm
the border with speaker ryan yesterday, congressman john carter. thanks for being here tonight, let's get your take and your impression and if you believee the wall is needed. >> well, the speaker made a whirlwind tour, but he got to see every element of what we've got on the southern border. the southern border of texas is very peculiar and different from any of the rest of the southern border in california, arizona, or new mexico because of the river. not only because of the river, because of, people own the land that borders that river. that makes a big difference in what we can do down there. the speaker saw the challenges. i think he's got a real good view of what's going on. >> kimberly: the american people were resounding in their support to put president trump in office that they wanted to build the wall, they want to have mexico pay for it.
10:33 pm
do you believe the wall will bec built and how are we going to pay for it? >> well, i think the wall willil be built, and the wall, where walls will work, will hopefully be built shortly. how it's going to be paid for? that's going to be up for the various negotiations going on and what the other committees are working on as a way of coming up with the funding to pay for the wall. and all that will be up in the air temporarily, but i'm lookine forward to the supplementary we're going to get in march. hopefully we'll have funds for homeland security which will allow us to get started on this. >> kimberly: you do support that we at least put forth the bills ahead of time, not so much worry about collecting it, let's get it built and done. >> if there's a plan foror collecting it, i'm for that. but i'm not aware of the plan. i do need the funds in order to build the wall, and i support building that wall. >> kimberly: go out and get
10:34 pm
them, thank you so much, congressman. coming up next, right here ont "hannity." >> i think donald trump has already done a number of things which legitimately raise the question of impeachment.t. >> kimberly: he hopes to be the next chairman of the dnc, and now congressman. keith ellison is talking about impeaching the president. up next, we'll get reaction from steve hilton, charles hurt, and richard fowler. later, as you know, it has been a very hard day for the fox news family. we are mourning the loss of our dear friend, our colleague alan colmes. later tonight, i will speak with sean hannity about what alan meant to him and to this network. stay with us. what alan meant to him and this network, stay with us [car engine failing to start] [clicking of ignition] uh-- wha-- woof! eeh-- woof!

10:38 pm
>> kimberly: welcome back to "hannity." now, on saturday, the dnc will be voting to elect its new chairperson. last night, one of thean frontrunner candidates, congressman keith ellison, had this to say about president trump. >> i think donald trump has already done a number of things which legitimately raise the question of impeachment. and right now, it's not about only donald trump, it's about the integrity of the presidency. so, yeah, i think we need to begin investigations to not go after donald trump, but to protect our constitution and the presidency of the united states. to make sure nobody can monetize the presidency and make a profit
10:39 pm
off of it for their own gain. >> kimberly: joining me now with reaction, former advisor to u.k. prime minister david cameron and fox news contributor, steve hilton, fox news contributor richard fowler, and fox news contributor and opinion editor for "the washington times" charles hurt. what do you think about congressman ellison's remarks? he thinks that president trump has done enough damage or sufficient means to impeach him which is, you know, shock and awe right there. >> definitely shock and awe. we've waited eight years for democrats to fail to lead, voters have thrown them out of power. they don't have a single lever of power anywhere.ea now their only responsibility it to be the loyal opposition, and they can't even do that. ellison is acting like a spoiled child throwing a hissy fit.
10:40 pm
and i think it's a perfect example of why democrats managed to lose, what, some thousand seats since barack obama first won election eight years ago. >> kimberly: yeah. steve, what dosa you think the strategy is here? they suffered devastating losses in the house, in the senate, they lost the oval when they were counting on it, they were counting their money in the cards on the table. can't do that.e what is the point here? they seem to not want to go all the way to the left with these bomb-throwing statements? >> i think the specific immediate point is keith ellison trying to win the election, so he's basically saying what his base wants to hear, it might be pandering. the i think the bigger point is actually in a broader sense, it may serve him well for his audience and the weekend in the dnc chair election, and the over-the-top rhetoric really undermines the credibility of the person who says it.
10:41 pm
it actually introduces a element of hate and divisiveness to politics which i thought the democrats were against. if you're looking at it as a d republican, i think this stuff is something you should be cheering on, because as long as the democrats kind of wallow in their hatred of trump and don't do the hard work of really figuring out why, as you said, they lost elections up and down the ballot right across the country and why working people in america no longer believe that the democratic party represents them, then that willn help republicans in the long run. >> kimberly: richard, what is the explanation for this kind of lunacy and this bizarre behavior?? making comments like that, do you think that ellison is the odds-on favorite? is he going to be able to achieve this by tacking to the left of everyone else he is up against? >> we'll have to see. the election will find itself out on saturday. "hissy fit" is an interesting
10:42 pm
word that charlie uses there. if my memory serves me correctly, about eight years ago, a guy named donald trump went around the country and talked about obama's birth certificate, and he threw a rather big hissy fit. sadly, he's president today. here's the problem, i think instead of worrying about what the democrats are doing, republicans should start. legislating. by this time in obama's legacy, they'd passed at least four or five bills.re right now, republicans have passed -- wait for it. goose eggs. zero bills. zero bills to the president's desk. >> you raise an interesting point, and i'm not defending republicans here, but what does that say about democrats that this monster you talk about eight years ago is not sitting at the white house? isn't that evidence that democrats have completely failed on every level? >> charlie, that's a good point, i think it's less about that, don't get me wrong, i think we got this election wrong. i'll be the first to tell you that. with that being said, i think at the rate that donald trump is going, republicans should look in the mirror.r. here's the point, think about this way. anything the president saysng makes news.

when the president goes outhe there and says it's an attack ie sweden and he says that it's false, and when it's false, false is another word for fake. he's a perpetuator of fake news even though he says he's against fake news. >> kimberly: i'm going to give less than 30 seconds here. >> he's right to say, in the end republicans in power will be judged by their results in confident they are determined to get those results in so they can have a good record for the elections coming up at 2018 and coming up at 2020. in the meantime, the democrats only have words. if the words they use are over-the-top hysterical statements, that is not good to serve them well and try to win elections in the years ahead. >> kimberly: it sounds like the left needs their own brexit, like lexit. thank you so much. coming up, it's been a hard day for the fox news family, stay with us. ox news family, stay with us i've been blind since birth.

he believed it passionately. people remember us for that w back and forth in the debate, and sometimes it would be contentious. we had a common goal, we wanted to this show to succeed and it did. we ended up beating larry king, who was just an icon in cable news at that time. and we never looked back. it was the number one timews slt and the number two show on cabla news for a long time. i was very, very blessed. t we always would say to each other, we would say how lucky we were that fox took a chance andd roger ailes took a chance on us and put us on air. and also gave us the time to grow. the one thing you saw and heard there is alan's great sense of humor. what was really hard about debating alan is, because he was a former stand-up comic, he wasa a great radio guy, he loved radio, loved the audience, love the microphone, he had a sense of timing that was impeccable.

i was thinking, i just made the greatest point ever. he'd crack a joke and off into the ether or whatever great point i thought i made. i want to say one other thing. everybody in the building loved him. the one thing about alan is, he was one of the most liked people at fox news ever. there's a lot of infighting sometimes in cable news. not with alan. alan was loved by everybody.ov and he had a decency that is -- it transcended all politics. in this day and age, that's kiny of a refreshing thing to hear. really, my thoughts and prayers tonight are with his wife, jocelyn, of course his sister-in-law, our friend, monica crowley. his whole family, rory, his manager who was with him his entire career. they are all devastated and as heartbroken as we are.

my prayers are with all of them tonight. he was a friend. one other thing. he faced -- i won't go into the details of what he faced. we had offices next to eachth other, we talked all the time, and he came and he told me the story about his illness, he was very optimistic. he said, my only fear about this, even though he wasss facig a daunting, a daunting challenge, his only fear was, i don't want my wife to worry about me. i don't want her to suffer, i don't want her to go through all of this. and it just speaks volumes ofll about a guy that had that kind of love and compassion and real humanity about him that he always put other people first. i was very honored to have him as a partner through all these years. we had so much fun. we worked so hard together, and we had a common goal to deliver for our audience every night the best show we could. you just, you can't replace him. he's just going to be missed
