i am encouraged for having these conversations. abby: let's look at what the proposal stands now and go through what it is that could be improved. president trump's bill, the republican plan mandates a repeal, a monthly tax credit, preexisting conditions coverage to age 26, medicaid expansion, medicaid is one of the big issues for you. >> i met with paul ryan yesterday. we have to repeal and replace obamacare, they are going to get rid of taxes, get rid of the mandate, very good beginning to make sure we are getting rid of it. we are not and expansion state. what is important to me is not get treated unfairly. you look at the dollars being sent to another state, make sure our taxpayers and citizens are

treated fairly, get healthcare. as we go through this, there will be other bills coming out which i will fight for what is good for florida. >> you are in the big state of florida, you hear every day from voters about healthcare, obamacare, what do they tell you about what they want to see happen. what do they want to change? >> president obama promised cost would go down in the opposite happened, cost of skyrocketed out of control, consumers can't pay for healthcare, companies can't afford it, taxpayers can't afford it was the big thing is we have to have a program that will drive down costs. you need more competition, people by the insurance they want to buy, not what government tells you to and take care of yourselves. do these things, drive down the cost of healthcare which is the biggest problem with healthcare, it is driven by increased cost. we will have better access.

>> paul ryan said he does believe this will pass as it is now. what do you think about that q >> i know paul ryan is working hard. it is a work in progress. i will continue to work up here to make sure we have a bill that is good for each state. i am encouraged. abby: there are three phases, as part of the third state, on neil cavuto's show, that is when they can incorporate across state lines, to buy insurance, estate you are not living in, bringing the cost down, the most important part of this. >> it is important to do that, competition, by their own insurance across state lines, people taking care of themselves to drive down cost which is the real problem here. >> do you think older americans

will be impacted unfairly as it stands right now? you have a lot of retirees that head down there. this is fair to them? >> as you know our state, we have to make sure whatever we do helps them. young or old, the problem is healthcare is driven by cost. if we do that we will spend our dollars better and have better access to health care. abby: with you make of the criticism that republicans had eight years to figure out how they want to replace obamacare and you don't have republican is in agreement here, what would you say? >> everybody is working hard for what they believe in. i'm encouraged, i like to talk about having these conversations, healthcare reform for a long time, i'm encouraged by all the conversation going on
