>> jenna: see you back here in an hour. "outnumbered" starts now. >> sandra: this is outnumbered. i'm sandra smith. here today, harris faulkner, meghan mccain, melissa francis, and today's #oneluckyguy, we are so lucky to have them back with us, the host of "the o'reilly factor," mr. bill o'reilly is here. by the way, bill's new bucket, "old school: life in the sane" is out in stores today. it's already a best seller on amazon. we congratulate you and we remind you you are outnumbered. >> bill: i know and i'm outnumbered and i'm very frightened. the >> harris: we love having
9:01 am
you. >> bill: i hope you'll be very gentle. >> sandra: we'll see what that means. the call growing warehouse intelligence chairman devin nunes to either recuse himself from probes into russia's meddling in the election and possible ties to the trauma campaign and the kremlin or step down and entirely. this after the congressman revealing he visited the white house grounds the day after before announcing incidental surveillance of the trump team. he says his source provided intelligence that the spy agencies have may inadvertently captured president trump and his associates during routine visits with foreigners. paul ryan giving an emphatic no when asked if chairman nunes should recuse himself. that won't be enough for adam schiff who is calling for nunes to step aside. >> much like the attorney
9:02 am
general to recuse himself, it would be wise for the chairman to do the same thing. it would enhance the public's trust that we are doing our investigation credibly and in a nonpartisan way. >> sandra: wait for it, the leader of the senate democrats, chuck schumer, haven't heard from him lately, joking, wants more than just a recusal. >> if the speaker ryan wants the house to have a credible investigation, he needs to replace chairman nunes. he seems to be more of a partisan for the president and an impartial actor. he has not been cooperating like someone who is interested in getting to the unvarnished truth. >> sandra: chairman nunes firing back on "the o'reilly factor" last nigh night. >> i'm sure the democrats do want me to step aside because they know that i'm effective at getting to the bottom. there was no sneaking around, i walked onto the ground, said hi
9:03 am
to people. did not go to the west wing, did not talk to the president. when i did talk to him, had nothing to do with russia. >> sandra: me time, as reporters were hounding him on capitol hill this morning, chairman nunes asked if he would recuse himself, replying "why should i?" dominic >> bill: this is so dumb. you only recuse yourself if you're investigating and you are in charge. this is a whole committee. if adam schiff doesn't like what nunes is doing, he can do whatever he wants, shift. nunes can't stop him. he can say whatever he wants, asking questions, call witnesses. nunes is in charge, he hasn't some authority during the hearings, but he can't shut them down. it's a big committee with republicans and democrats. recuse? for what reason?
9:04 am
it is true that nunes was involved with the trauma campaign in the transition phas phase. the democrats won't like that and they'll say he's a friend of donald trump. it's true. that doesn't automatically disqualify somebody from doing their job unless the democrats can show misbehavior from nunes, the chairman, they don't have a legitimate gripe at all. this is all grandstanding. adam schiff has just as much access to the media as nunes. >> sandra: i was a bit of sarcasm on my part about chuck schumer. we hear a lot from him. he said not only should he recuse himself, he should step aside entirely. >> bill: he also said he should be deported. and he should be forced to live in paraguay the west of his lif life. again, dumb and stupid. schumer's primary job is to subvert the trump administration.
9:05 am
that's his job. as the senate minority leader, just like harry reid. at the same job. he's not there looking out for the american people. he's there to wreck the trump administration and the republican party. that's his only job, schumer. his only job is to destroy the opposition. you saw with harry reid. the republicans do it too, but not to the extent that the democrats do. when this stuff comes in, i don't even take it seriously. i threw it right in the garbage. >> harris: the paraguay stuff, you are kidding. >> bill: know i was in. if schumer had his way, and nunes, trump, and everyone else would be shipped south. >> harris: we are starting to see a trend here. the republicans have to start to -- we're looking at nunes today, does he need to have some sort of explanation ready to go? it seems like there's a bit of a target therefore republicans.
9:06 am
i watched your interview. should be looked on the road a little further, outsmart these guys and say i have an answer for that, let's move on. >> bill: i told him last night on the factor, i told him, i didn't ask him. when you go to the white house to examine documents, you leave yourself open to this. you should have, with all due respect, met your source, who is going to show you these secret documents somewhere else. >> harris: or have an explanation -- >> sandra: did he have access to it somewhere else? >> bill: all politicians are going to tell you this. what happened was he got a call, nunes got a call from somebody in i think the national security agency, the nsa. he said you need to see these intercepts that we have because there are american citizens on the taps, and other identities
9:07 am
are out there. you need to see this as chairman of the committee. i'll meet you at the old executive office building, which i'm being told he didn't deny. nunes should have a meal he said i'll meet you somewhere else. i don't want this tainted in a political way. >> sandra: part of the problem was sean spicer was asked of the press briefing yesterday. isn't there a law, doesn't come from us and i have to be clear? they weren't prepared for this question and it made it a bigger thing. >> meghan: if this ends up being true, it will be a bigger scandal than watergate. all i want to know is did the obama white house spy on trump tower did the transition of power? i don't believe he is going on on tv simply to suck up to the
9:08 am
white house or whatever the accusation. that being said, at this point, it is incumbent upon him to let us know what he knows because clearly he saw something that was egregious enough that he felt compelled to go on from the white house press corps and say so. as you're pointing out, it's so highly politicized on both sides, i think people are tuning out from the fact that at this ends up being true, it could be a break template to entrust of the united states of america and our national security. i'm at the point where i'm upset this has become as politicized as it had. >> melissa: this is whatever he wants to know, this is the actual substance at the bottom of all this nonsense. what was in those documents, what were they listening to, what did it reveal? he stressed again that is not connected to russia at all. >> bill: that's an fbi play. they can undermine the fbi investigation, any political body, and say this is what i saw, this is what on the list.
9:09 am
he made it quite clear. that's a law enforcement and a law enforcement is investigating it for possible criminal charge charges. >> harris: it's almost on par with the unmasking. we've gone to a place now where secrets aren't secrets anymore. we have to wait to see what will happen. there are some secrets that should be kept where they are. >> sandra: i wiggle back to the big picture. we are going to get to jared kushner meeting with the committee. >> bill: that's another ridiculous story. >> sandra: where we out right now? >> bill: we are destroying mode. the left wants to destroy the right and trump in the right, they are scattered now. there is not a coalition because they don't -- a lot of conservatives don't like trump. there is not a unification. the theme is, we are going to destroy the trump administration, period.
9:10 am
we are going to go and do what we have to do so we can win the election in 2020. it's very simple. >> harris: what's interesting about the timing with jared kushner -- >> bill: you better explain what you're talking about. >> sandra: we were going to stay on nunes. jared kushner will be meeting with the senate intelligence committee. there's a lot of questions about his role in this white house. did he meet -- >> bill: he's the son in law ivanka. trump loves him, think he's a genius. he brought him in the administration. after trump won the election, he was designated to meet with certain people, jared kushner wants. that happens in every administration. every administration. >> meghan: i don't think it's jared kushner raising questions, paul manna four, general flynn,
9:11 am
there are a lot of players. i think it's one more person whose meeting -- >> bill: our competition on cable, this is a big big story now. he met with this one and that one. those of us who understand how this goes, there is no story here, unless jared kushner took $50 million from the russians. a meeting is a meeting and it happens in every transition tea team. >> sandra: he's clearly very close to the president. >> bill: that's his job. >> sandra: this is what they're talking about, he met with officials from a russian bank under western economic sanctions and it happened in december, before -- >> bill: it you can argue the validity of allowing the meeting. i say that's a debatable topic. should you allow a meeting under sanction? you can argue that, but you can
9:12 am
see why the bank would want the meeting. they're trying to get the sanction lifted. to me, unless there is wrongdoing, evidence of wrongdoing, all of this is blather. it's b.s. the goal is to have one after the other after the other after the other and erode any credibility of the trump administration. a >> meghan: michael flynn stepped down. again, i don't like being in this element that we are, because i think that it's taking it to a place that completely undermines the administration. >> bill: flynn got money from turkey. i would love to know what he did with turkey. he got money. those are legitimate. >> sandra: we have to leave it there. house republicans waiting for the first time since the clash of their bill to repeal and replace obamacare. what's next for health care and whether republicans and democrats will be able to work together. plus the white house cracking

it's nice and you want your kids to like you, but you don't patronize them. you don't give them things they shouldn't have or allow them to do things they shouldn't do. >> melissa: this is what i love. you have to allow your kids to confront these situations, as opposed to the snowflake generation, they shield them. i thought of this, i was on a playground of my son when he was younger and someone came over and smacked him with a wood sword. this was downtown and chelsea. a normal parent would have yelled of the other kid. i look to the other parent and i said people have been whacking you with things your whole life. you have to figure out how to deal with this. my thought was, move away from this crazy child. that was a lesson he should learn. but you always go out and protect your child from everything going on. >> bill: sometimes kids have to be protected.
