general jeff sessions takes aim at sanctuaries, pulling funding for any state or local government that refuses to comply with federal immigration law. some are defying the order. >> sacramento is open to anyone who wants to pursue the california and american dream. >> we will continue to be an inclusive city. >> reporter: that is not all. the mayor of new york city demanding ice agents day off school grounds unless they have a warrant and the governor of vermont finding a new a limiting police involvement for the feds. in massachusetts a state representative using facebook for an upcoming ice raid. section appraising efforts to push back against the white house. >> the president's immigration policies are destroying local economies, causing chaos and panic in families and communities who have done

nothing nothing nothing wrong. >> reporter: senator schumer vowing to block budget proposals on federal immigration forces and starting that border wall project. abby: thanks for that. this morning, syndicated radio host dana lash taking got a democratic strategist arguing in favor of protecting illegals. heather: where was the outrage when obama criticized sanctuary cities. >> people who enter the country illegally which is breaking the law and furthermore, all of these mayors and yourself i don't recall a single point in history where you guys criticized former president obama who said this exact same thing one year ago. nobody had any criticism when it was obama's law. you are talking about protecting illegal entry, this is a crime.

if you do not want to do the time don't do the crime and if you want to receive federal funding you need to comply with federal law. it is easy to understand this. this is our law, it was law under obama, it was law under trump and we need to do something to uphold the law. abby: several people detained in the ambush of police officers, veteran detectives charles wood and terrence white were undercover in this unmarked van investigating gang activity when a group approached firing 20 rounds at the officers, criminal pictures showing their van riddled with bullet holes. white remained hospitalized and similar condition, woods was released with another -- a man is in secret service custody at this hour after claiming to have a bomb, stepped away from the president's home. the suspect was at the white house fence when he said he had a nuclear detonator in his bag.

central texas to north central texas, running slowly to the east, those are reports of hail, but reports of wins, this is running its way to the dallas area, east of the dallas area we will continue to see storm reports pile up as the system shifts to the east. early this morning reports of tornadoes very early moving to the dallas area toward oklahoma city. this is a large system that will work off throughout the morning. this afternoon looking at the shifting towards the arkansas area, louisiana area, a really big system we will be paying close attention to. we are talking severe weather moving across the southeast until the end of the week. >> springtime definitely here. >> warm air and cold air meeting. heather: some nice warm spring weather. abby: democrats forceful
