crucial pieces of their infrastructure and now is the dust settles, the trump administration is now turning up the heat on russia. the secretary of state rex tillers and calling them complicit more simply incompetent in the syrian chemical attack. joining us now for more at life from monologue over the president is tonight is our own john roberts. >> i'm told by press secretary sean spicer that the president is very pleased with the execution in response to lesson its cruise missile attacks in syria. the military performed magnificently. the big question is what happens next? in terms of keeping the pressure on assad, the allied nations ambassador it said at the u.s. could take further action, she hoped it doesn't come to that but sent a very, very strong warning to president assad was something like you pulled on tuesday, we could potentially hit you again. the treasury secretary said elites today that he is about to
2:02 am
announce more sanctions against the syrian regime in order to try to stop these attacks. not just the chemical attacks but all of these attacks against syrian civilians hoping that by depriving people of being able to do business with syria, that will put further pressure on the regime. now to russia, what happens with the united states relationship with russia? rex tillers in saying this afternoon saying he is disappointed with russians this response, they are still going all in back bashar al-assad, we had statements from dmitry medvedev, the spokesman for vladimir putin, all condemning the attacks i am told there is a lot of public bluster going on here. that include sending the russian frigate into the eastern part of the mediterranean. for the official diplomatic channels, there hasn't been a whole lot of blowback from russia over this. they've got two cracks here,
2:03 am
they've got the public posture telling their populace that they are strong, they're going to be talking about this in very strident terms with the united states in the diplomatic side, it seems like they are much more muted in their response. we will get a greater sense next week exactly what the relationship with russia is in regards to this end where it might be going forward when it rex tillerson the secretary of state meets with his russian counterpart sergey lavrov in moscow. >> sean: it's very interesting because we know russian earlier this week they said that there for bashar al-assad was not unconditional. they distanced themselves a little bit from this attack or at least attempted to. we are now getting pictures of the war room inside tamara lago from last night, the secure war room that they set up there and will put those up on the screen for our audience, it's an interesting back story because the president was dining with the head of china, the premier of china at the very moment of
2:04 am
those were in the air. i'm hearing the president had to lean over and tell him what was going on, do you know anything about that? >> here's the tick-tock in the final day because there were four nsc meetings that led up to the decision to take action in syria. the last one came at 4:00, hr mcmaster, and james madison said it we have the answers to all the questions you have want to have answers because the president had a lot of questions in the run-up to all of this, here's three options. if we were told with the other two options were but the one of them was do nothing we don't know what the other one was or we can hit the space. the president made the decision at about 4:00. then he went into the meetings with sheesh and paying and the two of them were having dinner as the missiles were in the air, he turned to sheesh and presid,
2:05 am
here are the reasons why come according to the white house, he indicated to understand the president was doing, an official statement from the chinese foreign ministry, china had said that they are urging peace on all sides and to try to not proe anything that would increase tension in the region. >> sean: interesting back story, i know you worked a lot of long hours, thank you. if that going on in syria, catherine herridge, that's what the latest? >> military intelligence is investigating whether russia had a role in the chemical of its attack, tried to a drone belonging to either syria or russia, returned later that day, this time at a hospital where the victims were being treated in a short time after that the hospital was bombed.
2:06 am
based on the defense department document released today, there is no doubt the syrian government jets carried out the temperament chemical attack. the red dots on that flight path showing the jets were over the town twice in the nine minute. when the sarin gas released. these plans were developed a few years ago so that president obama could deliver on his redline pledge. today a senior administration official said the punishing air strike may not be over. >> the united states took a very measured distemper last night. we are prepared to do more. we hope that will not be necessary. >> the intelligence is so solidly u.s. already has a strong indicator is the airbase had chemical weapons and despite the assurances to the obama administration, syria had not given up its program. >> sean: when we talk about these air strikes and what i
2:07 am
heard, all 59 tomahawk missiles, they are 18 feet long, a thousand pounds of ammunition, two feet wide from a range of about 600 miles in some cases pinpoint accuracy, all hit their targets. >> extremely accurate and just empathize for people at home. we have such good intelligence about these airbases, it's so granular in nature. we know exactly where the jets are, where the helicopters are, the maintenance facilities. it was from these intelligence streams that we knew they had chemical weapons are stored that base. the clock was already ticking for the syrian president and we were waiting for him to make a mistake. >> sean: phenomenal and they didn't hit those chemical weapons, that was by design that was all by design because that would've carried many miles away it would've put a lot of people's lives in jeopardy. we'll go through this later at the show, they fly at low ranges, they are not that high up in the sky. april i'm sure were watching

them flying in, phenomenal military work and pinpoint accuracy, they deserve our support tonight. we'll show you later in the program how amazing these tomahawk missiles are. now first joining us thank you from the pentagon with much more, lucas tomlinson is with u us. >> here's what we know, just hours after those two u.s. navy destroyers fired 60 tomahawk cruise missiles into syria, the pentagon noted that a russian warship armed with advanced caliber cruise missiles had gone from the black sea through the phosphorus straight into the aegean sea. the russian frigate admiral grigorovich is expected to enter the area this evening, the russian warship is headed toward the uss ross and porter. the navy has been washing the ship, monitor and take his movement. russian state media said this is a routine transit to the syrian port of tardis with russia
2:09 am
leases. there were no russian warships in the eastern mediterranean, we asked this question when it became obvious to u.s. navy was preparing a missile strike. now the eastern mediterranean is a little more crowded. these two guided missile destroyers can hold 70 tomahawk cruise missiles, i'm told of just a short time ago, one of those destroyers is presently steaming to an undisclosed location in the mediterranean to rearm. >> sean: thank you for that report, joining us now with much more the former ambassador to the united nations, fox's contributor john bolton. i'm going to have my model are coming up in the next segment, i deleted obviously for the breaking news tonight. america is back, if a red line is drawn, there will be action, there is no u.n. approval needed spirit this is a very different america the world as it tonight than they were seeing 27 hours ago. >> the obama era for american foreign policy is clearly over.
2:10 am
if i thought this strike ordered by the president was very measured, very precise. had a very limited rationale because of the use of chemical weapons. but very effective and i think the message that it sent around the world to adversaries, potential adversaries, china, russia, iran, north korea, will be on the syria something that needed to be heard and i think it's going to change a lot of calculations. i don't think you can underestimate the reverberations were going to see from this. >> sean: i am certain that pyongyang north korea, i'm certain that iran in certain that russia got a very different feel for america last night. what do you make of it in your capacity as a former ambassador here is the president of the nine states cummings having dinner with the premier of china and has to lean over probably during dessert and saved by the way, i probably need to give you a heads up, i just launched a 59 tomahawk missiles at syria because they killed innocent men, women, and the children
2:11 am
with chemical weapons, what does that >> it's an honestly important, what trump basicallys when a country like syria undertakes solemn commitments in the chemical weapons convention and the famous john kerry deal that we thought eliminated or at least the obama administration thought a limited serious chemical weapons. when countries violate those commitments they're going to be consequences. when a donald trump raises the north korean nuclear weapon program today, xi jinping knows unlike the last eight years is up against somebody who . >> sean: all saying obama's redline in the sand with syria, that caused them to eliminate all of their chemical weapons. they were wrong, they were dead
2:12 am
wrong. we saw the impact this past tuesday, dead children lying in the street and many others suffering and bleeding and dyin dying. my question is this, what if obama and kerry edit susan rice were as wrong on iran and the deal that they made in the capacity they made nucler weapons as they were in syria ag rid of weapons? >> these people live in a fantasy land where rogue states authoritarian governments make commitments and live up to them and we can verify that they did at the bridge in syria we saw the consequence of this. all those chemical weapons were taken care of. barack obama were told us. they could verify it, just like they were sure iran has stopped its efforts toward deliberate nuclear weapons just like they could cut a deal with north korea, this is a lesson for the new trump administration when you sit down across the table with the russians, with the iranians, with the
2:13 am
north koreans. they may agree with what you want, they may tell you all kinds of interesting things, they don't have the slightest intention of meeting their obligations. that is where the risk to america really comes in. if >> sean: must question because we have this very public posture by russia and then we saw a russia pulled back a little bit earlier this week when they said of their support for syria was not unconditional. it seems like they are doing a little saber rattling but behind the scenes they do not want to take on this issue of syria and the united states. did they have the capacity to put up their missile defense system and they didn't do it att this air force base? >> i think the one thing that comes out of this that is good and we did give the russians advance notice and they did not apparently. >> sean: we had a treaty. >> we had a commitment. i think the russians are embarrassed by what asada did in the chemical attack a mother not concerned with the humanitarian aspect, but they know now they have got a problem.
2:14 am
the principal russian interest is perfecting their naval base, i think they'll stick with assad as long as they can. they would only replace them with somebody who would allow them to stay there. that's what their interests are and that's what they'll maintai maintain. >> sean: very different america than 27 hours ago, thank you for being with us. coming up, last night at the world of saw a major difference between living from behind and leading from the front. that is the subject from tonight's monologue, that's next. >> russia has been constructive and helping to remove 100% of the declared chemical weapons from syria. >> they got rid of the chemical weapons and that was very important. >> sean: you hear that by members of the obama administration dead wrong when they told you back in 2014 that bashar al-assad headed no longer chemical weapons at his disposal. look at reaction tonight from

monica crowley they way in next. also tonight, last night's military air strike lasted only several minutes, was completely at successful, pinpoint accuracy. we'll get a reaction and understanding of what this tomahawk missiles is capable of with lieutenant colonel oliver north of war stories, i no longer live with the uncertainties of hep c. wondering, what if? i let go of all those feelings. because i am cured with harvoni. harvoni is a revolutionary treatment for the most common type of chronic hepatitis c. it's been prescribed to more than a quarter million people. and is proven to cure up to 99% of patients who have had no prior treatment with 12 weeks. certain patients can be cured with just 8 weeks of harvoni. before starting harvoni, your doctor will test to see if you've ever had hepatitis b, which may flare up and cause serious liver problems during and after harvoni treatment. tell your doctor if you've ever had hepatitis b, a liver transplant, other liver or kidney problems,

>> sean: welcome back to "hannity" come out last night with air strikes into syria, president trump showed you in the entire world the difference between leading from behind a living from out front. in other words, the united states of america is back and that is tonight's opening monologue. the so in response to the syrian government using chemical weapons against innocent men, women, and the children last night, president trump ordered the launch of tomahawk cruise missiles to destroy the air base where this attack was carried out from. in doing so, the commander-in-chief is ascending every sounding message to you, the american people and if the entire world, america is back. syria, north korea, iran, russia, china and the rest of the entire world of saw a very different united states of america last night instead of weakness, we now have strength. instead of appeasement, capitulation, we now have decisiveness and leadership.
2:20 am
if timidity has been replaced by bold action. this is a far different cry from that of the obama administration. you want to see how profound this difference is? just take a look at syria, member back in 2012 when president obama drew the red line in the sand with syrian president bashar al-assad and this is what he said way back then, take a look. >> we have communicated in no uncertain terms with every player in the region that's a redline for us. there would be enormous consequences if we start seeing movement on the chemical weapons front or the use of chemical weapons. that would change my calculations significantly. >> sean: as we all know, assad crossed that line and what did president barack hussein obama do? absolute nothing. the obama administration was up there bragging about how they worked with russia to get rid of all of serious chemical weapons.
2:21 am
watch this. >> we were able to find a solution that actually remove the chemical weapons that were known from syria in the ways that the use of force would never accomplish. >> russia has been constructive in helping to remove 100% of the declared chemical weapons from syria. that was in agreement we made months ago and it never faltered even during these moments of conflict. >> people may criticize us for not having launched missiles against a sought after chemical weapons had been used cap, but keep in mind why we didn't write wouldn't because they got rid of the chemical weapons. that in fact was very important. president obama, john kerry, susan rice also the same thing, assad had gotten rid of all his chemical weapons, but guess what? they were all dead wrong. unlike his present assessor,
2:22 am
president trump acted swiftly, decisively to stop the syrian regime from using chemical weapons ever again. by the way, here's our final thoughts. the obama admin assertion, remember the horrible deal they made with iran? they claimed it would prevent the mullahs in iran from developing a nuclear weapon. what if they were wrong about that like they were wrong about syria and asada getting rid of their chemical weapons? joining us now reaction, our friend monica crowley former spokesman rick grenell. let's just ponder that question for a second, what if they told the world that they drew a redline and they didn't act because assad got rid of his chemical weapons? we saw on tuesday we didn't they didn't get rid of their chemical weapons. what if the deal they made with iran, let's say they are wrong there too which would not surprise me. >> it's very troublesome, we have to see the full iran a deal right now.
2:23 am
it's imperative that secretary rex tillerson release this iran deal let's look at its because we need to be able to check. what we now know as we've been hoodwinked. the previous administration trusted russia, they trusted in the u.n., they trusted assad to say how much chemical weapons that he actually had to. you can't trust that. remember the old adage, trust but verify. you can start by trusting what you must verify it. we haven't verified the information and we certainly haven't verified the information in iran. we know they are actually cheating on the obama administration looks the other way while they are breaking the new agreement. i think we need to get a hold of this agreement and to verify. >> sean: that's the point, he said with such certainty obama and kerry and susan rice they all said with such certainty that asada got rid of all these
2:24 am
chemical weapons, they are bragging about it, they're talking about how their appeasement policies actually worked and they drew the redline and they did nothing. we know the irani and deal is this bad that we have billions of dollars that we transferred so we can continue spinning those centrifuges and if you ever marry radical islamic terrorism and radical mullahs with weapons of mass destruction, that is a prescription for a modern-day holocaust on a scale that would make tuesday look like nothing as horrific and evil as that was. >> that's exactly right, you have this statement from the obama team that they were able through diplomacy to eliminate the syrian chemical weapons stockpile. we now know that is not true that is a huge obama legacy fail and the crisis that's now president trump is tasked with cleaning up. if you .2, iran is the linchpin
2:25 am
of the middle east. that's actually the linchpin of global war and peace. iran is the most in powerful and influential terrorist state. once it is equipped with nuclear weapons, all bets are off. what obama did in the last 24 hours was sent a message to the russians and assad to the north koreans in chinese, primarily this was a shot across the bow to tehran. >> sean: think about this, the media paid very little attention to president trump meeting with president el-sis of egypt, and what a great relationship they seem to have. they made a statement this crossed many, many red lines. at that to that meeting the crown prince, a reset of the relationship prime minister netanyahu. an emerging alliance against the originating

iranian hegemony. north korean, iranians, syrians command russia iceland from the rest of the world. >> what president trump has demonstrated is when the united states exercises power and leadership, our allies follow. the fantasy of the international community and the fantasies of the united nations, the lie is pushed to all of that. when the united states exercises our leadership in the world, we know that our allies are reassured and our enemies are put on notice which is something that's been sorely missing for the last eight years. our sunni arab allies you mentioned jordan, the saudi's, the egyptians, they have all been incredibly supportive of the action that we have taken in syria. they have been parched, they have been thirsting for american leadership. this was a tremendous signal to them as well that the united states has their backs
2:27 am
and american enemies around the world, you are put on notice that this president will take action and will be unafraid to do so. >> sean: we have about 15 minutes, in many ways i think this new alliance was created by obama making this horrific iranian deal. >> it's been a problem we keep hearing about it. throughout the region. i actually am a little encouraged that the calculus is now changed. right now what we need is diplomacy with muscle. we have to be able to bring in the turks let not forget they are a nato ally. they are extremely happy with what donald trump has done. the egyptians, the jordanians, all of those that monica just listed. now is the time to bring people together and try to see if we can remove asada peacefully. i think this is a real moment and we should seize it. >> sean: i think this new alliance in many ways created by obama's weakness and i think the new president certainly has an opportunity here that may not that they existed for decades, i
