from washington, d.c. he has the latest for us now. >> good morning, pete, jon and abby. north korea paraded what looks to be intercontinental missiles during other heavy weapons during celebration honoring country's founder as the world watches in anticipation of north korea's sixth nuclear test. the message out of pyongyang is clear, they're ready for war. north korea's vice foreign minister on friday saying they are prepared. >> we are taking into account the most aggressive and dangerous option that the u.s. might come up with. we'll go to war if they cheese. >> the foreign minister also saying north korea views the trump administration as much more vicious and aggressive than the obama administration. this comes as vice president

mike pence travels to south korea this weekend to reassure our ally in the face of rising tensions how the u.s. will respond should north korea conduct that nuclear test. in china now reacting to the ratcheting up the north korean provocations. china's foreign minister warning that quote, storm clouds are gathering and if war breaks out then no one win ghs that situation. but how president trump will respond in the face of that test is anybody's guess. the uss carl vinson is positioned off the u.s. peninsula and clearly capable of missile strikes if necessary. and reports of a preemptive strike by the u.s. were shot down aggressively by pentagon officials yesterday, so we wait and watch on this easter weekend to see if provocations and these tensions rise even more. not only could we face a test, guys, of the nuclear test, also whether they will test missiles like we saw in that parade. pete: that's right. griff general since.

thanks a lot for that update. most important day on the north korean calendar north korean sun. abby: 105 years. pete: missiles down the real we don't know if they are real or fake. all this chest beating of the regime which they have used over time, many, many decades to build up a nuclear arsenal. they weren't supposed to have one. they have got one. >> jon: coincide with the day of the sun. are. abby: another huge test for president trump when it comes to foreign policy. think about the past few weeks and what he has been really asked to do to handle these situations. he is saying we are going all. in this is going to be very different from the past 8 years. we are going to lead from the front. pete: america first mixed with american leadership. what does it look like in the propaganda of north korea say is he reckless and unpredictable. he is not predict being. also shown a willingness to use military force whether it's the chemical weapons, attack for chemical weapons in syria or the mother evidence all bombs in afghanistan. but this is a different approach.

it's a willingness to say we will use military force if necessary which changes the caucus of north korea. what we have done so far in north korea hasn't worked. in fact, the five previous nuclear tests and i think we have a full screen of the five previous tests that north korea has done and how the u.s. has responded. in 2006 the first one. u.s. blocks military equipmentrs there. in 2009 a lot of talk labels it a grave threat but no embargo. january of 2016 you can see it really ramps up in 2016. law passing sanctions and then there is two more -- well there is 2013 we moved some defense equipment, missile shields in december of 2016 we pushed for more sanctions. so a lot of sanctions. a lot of talk. u.n. resolutions their march to nuclear bomb continues. >> jon: north korea is so tightly allied with iran. you can't think of two worst actors on the world stage right now. but whatever technology north korea manages to put together is quickly going to be in the iranian arsenal.

pete: such a great point. abby: interesting timing for mike pence to be traveling over to south korea today to be there tomorrow. i think that's a very smart move. we had ambassador john bolton on fox news yesterday. he said it is so important when it comes to north korea to act now. here's what he said. >> we don't have much time. one of the reasons that we're, i think, so pressed now is after eight years of the obama policy of strategic patience, which is really a synonym for doing nothing north korea's capabilities worldwide are much greater. let me just add one other point, when north korea gets the capability of-to-drop an icbm with nuclear war head on the united states iran will have it the next day for the right price. pete: they have a couple dozen nuclear weapons. deliver that pay load to our shores which makes it a very real threat to us. you mentioned iran. what a lesson north korea is on iran. north korea we brokered this deal in 194. president clinton, supposed to

are failed launches because they are not able to gets into the stratosphere. the reality is they're practicing like they did in 2013 for blast in the atmosphere to take out the american power grid. pete: some are saying this is just on the korean peninsula. why do we care? why should an american care? tell us why an american besides allies which we care about why should they care whether north korea has the abilities to deliver it no. >> one of the problems with north korea is they don't have a lot of money and partners in the world outside of cline. so you are -- when you develop technology, that is going to go to the isis ebay as soon as it's out there and they can get some money for it the other problem is, a couple years back, president obama allowed north korea to put a space satellite into orbit. i don't know what technology they have that they need to have it beam down to pyongyang, but the reality is that a real satellite? there is a lot of threat and speculation out there that

plirlt is america's team. and why can we spot celebrate a win on behalf of them? why do we not celebrate all of it? i mean, you think it doesn't make us as service members feel good and empower us to want to go out and do better things? how does it make you feel when you celebrate for a team and that team sees that their fans are cheering them on? it's the same way with american military. abby: dakota you have seen firsthand what these terrorists are capable of. you have been there on the front lines. what does this do to the mind set of these terrorists and also what does it do to the mind set of our military that are out there fighting against them? >> well, i mean, look, the mind set of these terrorists, look, there is only one solution to them as the problem. and that's exactly more of this happening. but, you know, for the u.s. military, i think you take a year ago, we had a commander-in-chief that would let you get captured by iran and not do any repercussions. what do you think the mind set is there versus now we have got a commander-in-chief

that's saying hey, run your military like you need to and do whatever it takes to get rid of the enemy. pete: dakota, what does it mean to be on the ground to make those decisions because president trump has pushed decision making down to commanders at the local level. you made a lot of decisions that earned you the medal of honor. if you had to call up and report and ask permission every time it causes delays. how big of a change is it when you push decision making down to the working level? >> it's huge. you take the battle that i was in, we lost guys because of the reason that they didn't -- they were so worried about collateral damage, right? i will never forget that the village we are shooting at. finally we have got someone coming in and saying hey, run the military like it needs to be. you have, instead of worrying about politics and the court of public opinion, hey, do whatever needs to be done in order to be successful. abby: all right, dakota meyer, good to have you here and getting your perspective. pete: the home team. >> this is. we're the home team. jon: north korea is threatening war with the united states in a fight that

>> north korea is a problem. the problem will be taken care of. i will say this. i think china has really been working very hard. jon: president trump taking a hard stance as tensions with one our greatest enemies rise to alarming levels. north korea showing off a flight of new missiles at its annual day of the son military parade today. including intercontinental missiles. what are the president's options when it comes to this growing threat? here to discuss former cia officer brian dean wright. former army intel officer lieutenant colonel shaffer and national security analyst for the clarion project ryan morrow. thanks each of you for being with us. tony, there have been five nuclear tests from north korea before we expect there could be another one this weekend.

>> right. brian: brian. jon: not much has happened after the five previous tests frankly. how should the u.s. respond this time if it happens? >> we have to break a pattern. i was there in 1994 when we first started get the north koreans off that let me tell you, johnny, there was heightened tensions just like now. when i was in seoul, i was actually contemplating how we get out of the country should we go to war. we have to understand this has been going on a long time. wheat notable here is president trump is finally talking about breaking out of this pattern of allowing the north koreans to do things like build a nuclear arsenal, do tests and actually get rewarded for the bad behavior. i think this is the key here is that if there is another nuclear test, i think the results of this event will not be more rewards. i think mr. trump will do things to make them pay a price. that's going to become an issue that we have to discuss. jon: brian, it is always said that china is the key. the president seems to feel

that he has china's backing this time. >> yes. and that is a huge, huge change. you see, for many years the world has passed a variety of different sanctions. and everyone has known that the only reason that they would be successful is if china actually did something about it. today-to-date, they never have. and what you're see something president trump saying all right, i'm going to force their hand. why? because we know that the chinese wants stability over all things. if we start making that region a bit unstable that will force the chinese to act and that's why you are seeing them do the things they are doing now like withholding coal shipments and so forth. you will see a lot more action shows the force backed up by things like syria. jon: president trump says he wants to be predictable. he doesn't want to telegraph his next move. ryan, tell us how that plays into the korean mind set here. >> trump always called himself a counter puncher. now what you are seeing is the arrival of a counter punching foreign policy. the problem he now has is if

he fails to counter punch this time, then it looks like we back down and our credibility is injured. because of that. so, some options that trump, i think, should exercise is declassify the information that links the iranian nuclear program to the north korean program so people see them as one entity and also announce measures to reach the north korean people so that the regime realizes that the information blockade and the consultish environment that sustains the regime comes to an end. jon: you are all on camera at this moment so i want a show of hands, how many of you expect a nuclear test today? >> went next few weeks. let's say that. >> two weeks. jon: so within the next few weeks. and the response, tony, what should it be? >> well, first, as stipulated. i think the chinese have to take a very serious look at what they do. we have options. let me be clear so i don't say anything i'm not supposed to. we have options against their program. we have been planning these things, jon, since the 1990s.

>> you mean in terms of attacks us? abby: yeah. >> they target the minds of americans. they don't target our military capability. so they're not going to be able to -- they are not existential threat to our military. they are a threat to us. because what they want to do is hide in holes and kill just enough americans to frighten american taxpayers and voters into pressuring our political leaders to pull out. and if they can get us to pull out, to turn tail and run like they have been able to do in the past, like what happened in vietnam, for example, and happened in iraq and happened in afghanistan the first time, then they accomplish their goal, so by smoking them 0u9 of those holes and showing them that know, that's not going to work this time, i think it sends a more powerful message to the leaders. pete: of course, usama bin laden believed we would be a paper tiger, would tuck tail and run. you understand this enemy. you literally waterboarded ksm. you were in charge of the interrogation of many of the -- >> -- in charge is not a word that i would use.

but i certainly participated. pete: fair enough. you have understand the nature of this enemy. what do they expect? what do they fear from the united states? >> they respect power. they respect power. they view tolerance and a willingness to compromise as a weakness that they're god has put in our heads so we could be defeated. so they respect power. they respect it when we follow through on threats and when we follow through on promises. so, we have to be steadfast. and it's going to take them a little while to figure that out because over the past 8 years. the notion that have used political correctness, for example, to endanger our troops by not giving them rules of engagement to fully engage those folks fighting on the ground has emboldened them. i think the key message that they should get is that donald trump is not a president that's going to use 10,000-mile screwdriver from the white house to try to effect what happens tactically.

abby: kim jong un showing off his country's military arsenal and may be on the verge of another test. >> jon: cia operative who led the first team into afghanistan after 9/11. he joins us now. how would you assess the danger level right now with regard to north korea, gary? >> well, we have had many, many presidents that have faced off against the north koreans over the years. many have made the mistake of giving north koreans incentives not to have problems with us. donald trump is taking a different tact with him. not here to try to bribe him. donald trump has sort of changed the death deck in a way and is holding a hard line against the south koreans. incentives and bribes have not worked and multiple presidents over multiple decades have failed to slow down this

machine, which is developing weapons of mass destruction and their ability to deliver them. so, i support what the president's doing. because, what's been done in the past has failed. pete: gary, what is the next step then? what hard line do we take next to prevent a nuclear capability and pay load able to be delivered against us? >> i think that north koreans have to be -- i expect cruise missiles in syria is the first marker the president has put down. at some point, some president, some national leader is going to have to take a step with the north koreans to diminish their military power in one way or another. and i think that the chinese are going to have to be convinced that we do this. because, it's not in china's interest to have a conflict on the korean peninsula and have 20 million refugees pouring across their border.

so, as -- and this is brinksmanship of what's going on right now. the other player, the really important player is the chinese in convincing the chinese that we'll use military force if he does not stop and the chinese can cut them off from oil. they provide 90% of the oil from the north koreans and hopefully that will be the thing that the chinese will do. we have to enlist cline's support. if we don't we have to some of his capability. that will be a dangerous thing. if we don't, at some point he is going to create a nuclear weapon that is going to be small enough to put on a device that he could transport across the pacific. abby: there is a lot going on around the world. gary, you were one of the first cia officers in afghanistan to take on the terrorists after 9/11. your reaction to this action that took out nearly 100 of the isis fighters. >> first off, i compliment the president for putting those

abby: retired u.s. marines bomb technician john joey jones joins us now. good to have you here. >> good morning. abby: what made you want to tweet that? >> well, this is an issue that's really close to me. like i said in the tweet upfront, very carefully i lost my legs in afghanistan. clearing basically what is a mind field. we were trying to take a town that was a ghost town there were very low risk for civilian casualties, and only mission there was to clear that town and get the bad things, the ied components out of that town. we could have easily just wiped that town off the face of the earth. out in the middle of the desert. civilians had left. we gave them et opportunity and they abide you had. there was no real strategic reason to hold the town. we should have bombed it wiped it off the face of the earth. perhaps i would still have legs. perhaps some marines would still be alive. but i believe and we believed at the time the headline on the "new york times" saying u.s. bombs afghanistan was a higher political risk than even our lives and that's not a good thing to feel when you are deployed overseas.

should have been held 13 years ago from the use of chemical weapons and this moab was dropped. and it wasn't dropped in the desert for show, it was dropped as a tactical weapon to destroy these places that isis was living. i think the message it sent was that not that we just have cool, big, weapons. we do. but we're willing to do what needs to be done to destroy these terrorist networks around the globe, and i think not only did it send a message probably to north korea, but it definitely sent a message to our enemies around the globe. dagen: yeah, you served in both iraq and afghanistan. what do you think to do so to the mind-set of these terrorists? >> so here's the thing. the reason we ended upturning the sunnis onto our side, and we ended up frankly winning from the surge was not because of only the addition of 20 or 30,000 troops. it was because president bush at a time when everyone saying you couldn't win in iraq made a strong statement saying not only are we going to win in iraq, we're going to double

down and send more troops, and you can't defeat us on the battlefield. so i think when this bomb went off and took out 90 isis members and had a huge impact. it was president trump saying we will not be defeated. you think you can outlast us on the battlefield, well, trust me, we're willing to do what's necessary to defeat yo y. >> and, congressman, you're very familiar with that surge in iraq. and that's boots on the ground and in this case we're seeing overwhelming air power being used. you're a pilot yourself in iraq and afghanistan. what are the limits of what air power can do versus what boots on the ground can do? >> so air power is not a substitute for ultimately occupying territory. it doesn't mean it has to be american troops, but it has to be maybe afghan national troops or partner troops when we're talking about iraq. you can -- it's like dropping iraq in a bathtub; right? you initially have an area that's very clear of water and the water just flows back in. so using strong air power like the president's doing lake our heroes in the military are

doing, has to be backed up by indigenous force coming in and holding ground, and that's what i think is happening now in the strategy of afghanistan ultimately we have to empower our afghan national partners and in iraq, we have to empower all the partners there that can do the same job. >> that moab bomb along with the cruise missile on syria seemed to send a message around the world. how do you think that's being received in north korea? >> i think loud and clear. you know, look, north korea's very unpredictable. we need to be very worried about the potential of a war on that. but we also have to be very strong in protecting our allies and frankly protecting our country. i do not envy president trump in this decision-making process. but i think if kim jong-un had any doubt that the united states under the leadership of president trump was willing to do what's necessary to defend our territory, i can't imagine he doubts that now. and, again, you know, when you have the russians in syria saying if you bomb assad, this is going to be the beginning of world war iii, we bomb his

air force, and they do absolutely nothing because they don't have the power to, now i think north korea is going to start to think about what are their chances about actual are he tauiation? so this sends a strong message. abby: we're showing footage there. day of the sun, 105 years of their dictatorship. many concerns that in the day or weeks to come they could test another missile of some sort. at what point, congressman, do you think the u.s. needs to respond? >> so that's really up to the administration to decide. basically north korea is now where we were -- we are trying to prevent iran from backgrounds, from going. so the nuclear deal was put in place to keep them from getting to this exact position. so i think the point that the trump administration sees they can marry miniaturize nuclear warheads that can hit our allies or west coast or set off an emp above the united states, this is why we have to invest in the military even more than $50 billion. i think we have to invest way more in missile defense and taking out these launches at

what's going on here, man? why are you people looking at our property? so there's a privacy issue, but it's happening, and it's just going to continue. pete: so the idea is the more powerful the visual, the likely someone is going to want to buy that place; right? >> yeah. a picture is worth 1,000 words and there's different dimensions. like we showed last night, these different types of technology that i'm sure my 11-year-old grandson knows better than i do. and they go through the house and they have, like, 3d dimensions like of a kitchen. 3d dimensions of, you know, your bedroom. it's remarkable. but it's becoming so prolific that now, those people -- as a matter of fact, the guy we had on last night says that his sales went up over 50%. he actually got certified to fly the drone since he's been reducing that technology. so it's just part of the way it's going to be. abby: the reality. >> you help a lot of people on the property man. one couple in particular in this new episode.

>> yeah. you know we -- we travel, and we talk to people, john, and what we're finding out still in 2017 that they're still having problems with lenders. these particular people were wrongfully literally thrown out of their house. they went to a lawyer, got hired, and i assisted in solving one of the problems that they had, which we lo as though later on in one of the episodes. but what you'll find is that people are still fighting with lenders, there are people that have been living in their home for seven, eight years, haven't made a payment, trying to make a payment, trying to figure out why someone won't take their money. so here we are in 2017 experiencing things that has gone on seven, eight, nine years ago, and that's a poor commentary. at the end of the show i do something called a massie memo and what i do is tie everything up from the show, give them tips hoping to help them solve their problems and of course we have the website and wonderful people like you who allow me to come on and talk about it. abby: we'll be tuning in. you can catch the property man fridays at 8:30 p.m. eastern on fox business network.

the property did not sell. can i deduct that money that i infested in the house from my taxes? >> now, sandy is a professional in real estate, and she's going to be filing a schedule c, she can likely deduct some of those things. but this is is more of a hobby, she has to wait until she sells. >> bob writes i sold my business this year. what can i do to minimize the capital gain? >> well, one thing he can do is reinvest and open a new business. but if he's not so interested in doing that, this is a great example you should be talking to a professional because they can find all theins and outs of what you can do. >> it is, again, april 15th and that means it's tax day but the government in its largest is giving you the rest of the weekend and until tuesday to get those returns postmarked. >> absolutely. >> all right. aaron, thank you very much. new bike?
