they embarrassed themselves which failed few seconds after taking off. we have to remember that kim jong un has a shaky regime. this is incredibly humiliating for him so he has to strike out and do something, another missile launch, maybe detonation of the nuke that they buried in the mountain in northeast north korea, whether he see something. i don't know what it will be but it should probably occur soon because kim jong un wants to show strength. pete: we have seen a turn from china, a little bit more pressure on north korea, is that working or will the regime continue to lash out? >> pete, i think it's important what didn't happen yesterday on the 105th anniversary of north korea's founder and that was the tet nation of north korea's sixth nuclear test. a lot of folks were expecting that. we saw a lot of activity around test site and it didn't happen. we have to ask ourselves why.

a few things have gone on since president trump met with president xi at mar-a-lago. a number of ships were turned around, two, the chinese-state run agency said which is often a mouthpiece for the chinese regime, look, north korea, if you detonate this nuclear test, we are going to stop selling you oil and then 3, we've had this kind of interesting back and forth between president trump and president xi where they're essentially complementing each other. you to ask yourself what kind of deal was struck at mar a law agoo and we are seeing them turn the screws on the north korean regime and changed calculus when president trump said, china take care of this or we will. pete: is this a guy who ebles they have robust military capabilities or are they -- do they know ultimately they're fighting a losing hand and they're going to beat their

chest to make and look themselves feel good. >> i think kim jong un believes in his regime long-term because most of the time, most of the time they have china at their back. it was very good that president trump -- xi jinping leaned on kim jong un not to test nuclear device. nonetheless, when we don't pay attention to china, when we don't turn pressure on them, the chinese will go back to the old way of doing this which is pyongyang because pyongyang has short objectives with the chinese. he can get through the next two or three months, he will be okay, that means that president trump needs to keep up the pressure. pete: colonel waltz could include limited action, what would be the pressure for trust taking a proactive measure? s are our intelligence
