tv   Justice With Judge Jeanine  FOX News  May 14, 2017 9:00pm-10:01pm PDT

9:00 pm
we will be back monday. we have a full week, special report and we will have all the days news. lately, there's a lot of it. thank you for inviting us into your home tonight. hello and welcome to a special sunday night addition of justice. i am judged jeanine. thanks for being with us and happy mother's day. another weekend of controversy for the white house. mainstream media attacking resident trump once again after his decision to fire fbi director james coming. the president confirmed he is considering stopping white house press briefings. up tradition that dates back to wood whil woodrow wilson. we discussed some of the biggest issues facing the country today.
9:01 pm
i will be addressing my reaction to the interview with tonight's special panel. first, here is the interview. >> mr. president, thank you for having us here in this cabinet room, a room where so much american history and decisions were made. éj8 how was your week? .> i think it was great we did a tremendous amount of work on natural gas going to china, cattle going to china. we opened it up. i remember you years ago when ty stopped any cattle from going to china. we have a tremendous amount of things happening, literally today. >> i have to interrupt you because, i think in spite of all the great things that we can talk about, the james comey story got in the middle of everything.
9:02 pm
was this the wrong time to fire him? >> there's no right time. let's say i did it on january 20, then that would have been the big story as opposed to the inauguration. i was thinking about it then and i was thinking about it during this period of time. there's no right time to do it. i'm okay with it. he agrees i have the right to do it. i was a little surprised because all of the democrats hated jim jim -- james comey >> does it suggest to you that is not even about
9:03 pm
the level of hatred by the democrats and republicans, first you have a free pass and then he came out with james comey and ultimately he gave her a free pass. they should have liked him, but because he did what he did for her, it was unbelievable. with all of the guilty, guilty, guilty and then he says she's not guilty. the fact is, we are on to other things and we had the right to do it, there is no right time to do it. what i'm most proud of is what's happening with the country. jobs are up and you look at what were doing in terms of trade deals, it will be unbelievable the trade deals we are making. we had the worst trade deals ever made by any country anywhere and were making them
9:04 pm
into great deals. the business we are reopening with china that's been gone for many years, especially when you look at natural gas in the deal we made on cattle. it's really something special. >> all of the good things and the good stories you can talk about, whether it's the passage of the health care bill by the house. >> we are doing very well with healthcare. by the way, it was a continuation of a negotiation but we are doing very well with that. now that's before the senate and i think the senate will come up with some really great additions and changes and we will have a plan that will be really great. obamacare is dead. it's dying. i've been saying that for a long time. at night just pulled out. we have to come up with a plan. obamacare is dead before would you agree that but for your totally getting involved in the house and working with the
9:05 pm
freedom group, or not you being as hands-on in involved, that would have not passed. >> i agree but i would also say they are great people. i read so many great stories. i was in business and i didn't know a lot of these congressmen and congresswomen. they are great people. i've met so many people that i really like. it was intense. many said i wonder if he was really involved. i was speaking to 30, 40, 50 a day. i got to know them well and their great people. we have wonderful people when presenting this country's before given what it took, it took you to get involved. jeanine: doesn't that suggest that same kind of hands-on has to apply to democrats and across
9:06 pm
the aisle. >> they are obstructionist. they want to obstruct and delay and i'm very surprised with chuck schumer because i've known him for a long time. i really am surprised he's become so far left in order to get into the elizabeth warren group. i think he's hurting himself and the democrats. he has really been brought to the left. i also don't think they can win elections must they start changing their tune. they become obstructionist. all that means is delay and all of the things they do and we will end up winning. we've been winning. we have the house in the senate. don't forget. before the election, the republicans were going to lose the senate, the house and the presidency. two weeks before the election i
9:07 pm
was watching your show. you weren't exactly thrilled by the numbers you were seeing and the last two or three week time period was amazing because you started seeing very good numbers for the point is, we were supposed to lose all three and not only that, they said it would be the greatest election failure in the history of this country. i said that's bad, but i worked very hard and we ended up winning all three instead of losing all three and it became a great success. i think we are doing even better than that. jeanine: your agenda is not getting out because people are caught up on the james comeyue . lfífv5gcngmqn one thing and another group says
9:08 pm
the other thing. >> that's interesting. i actually said today let's not do any more press releases. the way they ask questions, i want, i want, screaming, there's never been anything like this. in all fairness to sean and in all fairness to sarah huckabee and anyone who has stood up there, they don't know me. i'm a very active president. i'm dealing with china and japan and north korea and all these different things. russia came to see me, the foreign minister and right after that, they didn't say that but right after that the foreign minister from ukraine came in. i said fellas you gotta make peace. they only talked about russia coming in. we took pictures, they took pictures, we release the picture and they made a big deal out of it. they didn't talk about ukraine. the point is this, when we have
9:09 pm
those press conferences, i said we shouldn't have them because sarah huckabee -. jeanine: for 100 years we've been doing them. >> but we've been doing them and getting higher ratings -- >> would you seriously consider stopping these. >> we would do it in a different way. we would do it in a piece of paper with an accurate beautiful ledger. they are asked 100 questions or 50 questions and they get one out of 50 just a little bit off and the next day at the front page story. press conferences weren't even covered for obama. they were on c-span and c-span to and there was nothing going on. these press conferences are like the biggest thing on daytime television. you see the ratings, they are blowing away everything on daytime television.
9:10 pm
what i would love to do is stop them. it's not fair to the people lo look, i am a very active person. i have a lot of very positive things going on for this country. it is impossible for a person or two people or three people who are press to cover every aspect of what i'm thinking and what i'm doing. i think it's unfair. if they get it just a little bit wrong, they don't mean too, but then they are liars and horrible people. it becomes a big story for two or three days. it's very unfair to a person in that job. i think it's a tough job, especially for me because i'm having meeting after meeting and cutting the price of airplanes and doing all of these things pretty making deals for china, with china, i'm trying to solve a problem in north korea, which
9:11 pm
by the way is a really big problem before are you moving so quickly that your communications department cannot keep up with you? >> that's true. >> we just don't need press conferences unless we have them every two weeks and i do them myself. i think it's a good idea. you have a level of hostility that's incredible. it's unfair. sarah huckabee is a lovely young woman. you know sean spicer. he is a wonderful human being. he is a nice man. jeanine: is he your press secretary tomorrow? will he be there tomorrow. >> he has been there from the beginning. he just gets beat up by these people. they don't show the 90 questions they asked and answered proper properly. if there off just a little bit.
9:12 pm
the difference between me and another president doesn't do what i'm doing. i'm not saying that in a bragging way or anyway. another president will sit in the oval office and do practically nothing all day. i am doing every minute of the day, i'm doing something. i'm cutting prices. this nation has such unbelievable potential. they can't keep up with it. they do their best. i would recommend we don't have it. jeanine: when will you make that decision. >> over the next couple of weeks. they will be very unhappy because the readings are so hi, i don't know what these networks will do. they will start cry. they get free ratings because of me. >> here's the bottom line.
9:13 pm
you have this russia story, cory booker said the other day the russians are coming. i thought it was 1950. jeanine: wouldn't it be better, because all of this is being overshadowed by this russia story. >> by face fake news. >> or by face -- fake news. >> everybody's convinced. they say there is no collusion. they are all saying there is no collusion. i would like it to move fast, if possible, but what i really want, there is no collusion. we have nothing to do with
9:14 pm
russia and everything else. there was a question, was it russia or who was it that when in and try to hack? there are other questions jeanine, why didn't the dnc, why didn't they allow the fbi to check their server? why didn't the fbi insist on checking the server. jeanine: they have subpoenas. >> they have very powerful subpoenasrh'3e> so get it out of the white house. do an independent commission then you can get your agenda out there. >> i'll tell you what. you have a before the house and before the senate. i know some of the people on those commissions are highly, they are very ethical, talented, smart people. i think you let them do it.
9:15 pm
they been doing it for a long time. jeanine: they may never be finished. how do you prove a negative. how do you prove you weren't involved. this can go on for years. >> i think it's been proved already. to be honest, i wanted to be accurate also. i would like it to go fast, but more importantly, i want them to be sure russia or anybody else, if it did happen, and everybody agrees it didn't change the election and that's important to me, but i don't want to ever to be a question again. if it takes longer, let it take longer, but let them do the job. jeanine: the risk of the country not being able to see your successes. look, we are coming up to january 2018. we are talking midterms soon. unless we get health care, tax reform, how are you going to do all that. >> i'll give you an example.
9:16 pm
we made an incredible deal with china last night at 11:00 o'clock. the front page of the papers had more to do with unimportant stories. i think that's very unfair. jeanine: it is, but you can't change it unless you take it off the table. >> i think it will be off the table as soon as they announce the results. with all due respect, i want to see it done properly. i don't want to be in a position where something took place having to do with russia or any other country or person, but i don't want to be in a position where it's not done correctly. let them do it correctly. let them take their time. jeanine: you're talking about the house. >> i'm talking about the house, the senate, the fbi. jeanine: so no independent commission. >> i don't think you need it. >> but they're playing politics. can't you see that?
9:17 pm
jeanine: yesterday the department of justice nullified the eric holder, obama marijuana drug policy. yesterday 1400 gang bangers were arrested. all of this is being subjugated to ridiculous -- >> i think the people are saying it. i have a very strong base of incredible people. i think they know what's going on. i had dinner with a group last night of great people, great friends and they come in and they're very angry about what's going on. they are angry from our standpoint. the very angry. i think the people see it. they see our successes and putting the supreme court judge on within a hundred days and i don't mean just nominating, having him confirmed and he will be great in so many other things. they said we did note legislative work. we signed 32 bills. did you hear that?
9:18 pm
thirty-two bills. they were saying we signed none. that means it went through congress and signed it. in addition we freed up the system which was all glued up so that people could build houses and factories and build so much. our trade deals will come. they will be unbelievable. i honestly believe people see it, but there's no question, it would be wonderful to go fast but i wanted to be done right. >> next, part two with my interview. find out what he said he has already done that his predecessor couldn't pull off. >> the past administration worked on it for three years. they were unable to do anything. i got them out in less than a minute. jeanine: we will talk about his search for a new head of the fbi as well as north korea and the status of the border wall.
9:19 pm
part two of my sitdown with president trump next. >> to me that's one of the most exciting questions you can ask. jeanine: okay, good. people would ask me in different countries that we traveled, what is your nationality and i would always answer hispanic. so when i got my ancestry dna results it was a shocker. i'm everything. i'm from all nations. i would look at forms now and wonder what do i mark? because i'm everything. and i marked other. discover the story only your dna can tell. order your kit now at ancestrydna.com.

9:23 pm
jeanine: welcome back to justice. here is part two of my interview with resident trump inside the cabinet room of the white house. what about the new director for the fbi. before -- >> to me that is one of the most exciting questions you can ask asked. we have great candidates, were interviewing people, we will pick someone who is outstanding. jeanine: when you asked for loyalty and fidelity. >> i wanted loyalty for the country and the united states of america. but i think we have some wonderful candidates. jeanine: people suggest that the question, that the new york times is selling that whether or not he -- whether or not you had
9:24 pm
his loyalty was inappropriate. did you ask that question. >> no, i didn't, but i don't think it would be a bad question to ask. loyalty to the country, loyalty to the united states is important. it depends how you define loyalty. number two, i don't know how that got there because i didn't ask that question. jeanine: what about the idea that in a tweet you said there might be tape recordings. >> that i can't talk about. i won't talk about. i want him to be honest and i hope you will be. jeanine: this new director of the fbi, will it be someone within the ranks. >> we have a lot of choice. everybody wants the position. it's a great position to have. we have extremely capable people. in some cases, people of great prestige. people who have had tremendous careers would like to do it. we will have somebody fantastic barely quickly.
9:25 pm
i think we owe it to the public to do it quickly. jeanine: do you think the senate will confirm. >> i want to pick somebody who can be confirmed. i thought this would be a very popular thing that i did when i terminated james comey the cards all of the democrats couldn't stand him. because i terminated him they said we get some political point to go against trump. i assumed it would be fairly popular and they got together and said, we are talking obstruction. this is total obstruction. they got together and all of a sudden, it's funny when you listen to schumer and other people, they couldn't stand him a few months ago. it's a very interesting thing. >> we be able to work with schumer. >> it's pretty tough to work with him. i'm surprised because i've known him a long time. he has gone very far left.
9:26 pm
he does not have good control of his party. i think it will be difficult to work with him. hopefully what will happen is in 18 we will elect some republican senators. honestly, they just want to stop things. they want to clog up the wheels and we can't let that happen. jeanine: i interviewed general kelly last week or the week before and he said he can see in your first term, the north korea having the ability to put a nuclear warhead on it intercontinental ballistic missile. >> they should've been stopped a long time ago. i remember when clinton wrote in his book all about the wonderful deal he made. they started making missile the next day. jeanine: what can you do about the. >> i can't talk to about that
9:27 pm
but i think were having some very good thoughts. jeanine: are you going to build the wall? >> absolutely. is there question about that. jeanine: i stood with the parents of the girl who was murdered. i cried with the parents. you made this huge sweet. >> we are sweeping the hell out of the country. they are being swept of a and we go]08alpblq4á8yp7,:0c(b into towns i've known and they are living in fear. jeanine: there petrified. >> general kelly goes in with his guys and they are tougher. they said the equivalent of al qaeda in terms of their mentality and toughness. we are cheering as we take these people and throw him into the vans. they are cheering. it's almost like they've been freed or liberated. this is in the united states.
9:28 pm
under obama, they were just pouring in. ms 13, we have thousands of them in this country. they are going very, very fast. jeanine: finally, you're going to the middle east. saudi arabia, israel and rome we are going to the big conference of our countries. jeanine: what you think you will accomplish. >> we've established great relationships with a lot of countries that we didn't have. one thing i did, a young girl who wa was in an egyptian priso. president obama worked for three and half years to get her out. i had a meeting with a general of egypt and within one minute we made an agreement and she was released. she was going to be there for 28 years. she is a wonderful young person, and i will tell you, i was very
9:29 pm
honored by what the general did. not only here, they let her husband out and a total of eight people. they were going to be there for many years in an egyptian prison. the past administration worked on it for three years. they were unable to do anything. i got them out in less than a minute. that's what we need. jeanine: given your ability and your successes, all of the things you can talk about for two hours, how are we going to get that across to the american people. >> i hope they understand it. i hope they see it. again, this was a plan because this was just an excuse that the democrats came up with for losing an election. they lost an election. they lost a badly. this was just an excuse for losing the election. i think people are seeing through it.
9:30 pm
jeanine: i will discuss my interview and the search for a new fbi director and the news this week with my panel. i decided to go in search of three justices to find out why he couldn't catch a break from the democrats and the mainstream media. if you are working hard and doing the best job in all of the sudden, no matter what you do, you are a villain. >> i know the feeling. i'm a stepmom. [laughter] jeanine: street justice, coming up. stay with us ...

life of america's news headquarters i'm kelly. here's what's happening. north korea sign in the vessel they launched this weekend was a new type of long-range rocket that could carry a nuclear warhead. this is coming just days after south korea elected a new president. nikki haley is saying that it's unlikely president trump will want to sit down with the regime after this test. the nsa and fbi work to defy the hackers that is believed to be the largest online ransom where that affected more than 100 countries. this includes the us. they demanded hundreds of dollars in exchange for those ke files. experts worry the hackers could strike again possibly this week. france has a new president, 39 -year-old emmanuel macron and was sworn in as sunday to start his five-year term. he's the youngest >> welcome back to justice. french president ever. i'm kelly. back to
9:36 pm
9:37 pm
the other issue is the trump russia collusion. i think that's a huge distraction being used to undermine our president. jeanine: david, is that a huge distraction? >> yes, it's a huge distraction. this is a huge problem because it's undermining our instituti institution. trump decapitated the head of the fbi which was in charge of doing an investigation on him. you asked a very important question in your interview. you asked why doesn't he support in independent commission or
9:38 pm
special counsel? his answer really didn't add up. you are right. we need one of those things to have a fair, independent investigation of what happened. that is what all of america needs and deserves. jeanine: david look, first of all you said the fbi was doing an investigation of him. that is inaccurate. they were not doing an investigation of him. number two, clapper himself said there's no evidence of collusi collusion. and adam schiff says there's no evidence of collusion. the fact that the dnc e-mails were hacked, what makes us think that our institutions are under assault? >> if i can respond, it's very clear that the fbi was doing and is doing an investigation of president trump campaign. he was at the top of the campaign. he is also, possibly, a suspect. i'm not saying he is. jeanine: you can't say the president as a possible suspect unless he is. david, you respond. >> i have a wager with one of
9:39 pm
your viewers that david can't get through this segment without saying richard nixon's name because it took the democrats all of one second to make this political. clapper's comments are outrageous. the russians have been trying to undermine u.s. institutions for decades. the most important thing is, do we have a president that is standing up to the russians and making sure they understand very clearly where we stand, what our expectations are of them and how we might be able to work together with them to not only cooperatively have economic partnerships together, but more importantly, how are we going to deal -. jeanine: amy. >> if pelosi, schumer and reed called for the firing of james comey, don't they look like hypocrites. >> indeed they do and they been
9:40 pm
made to look very bad this week when you just play their previous comments, now with the current comments. all of this is designed to chip away at the presidents widget legitimate see. diane find sid feinstein said iy there was no evidence of collusion. you have adam schiff who has said he had not turned up any evidence of collusion. richard berg was the chairman of the committee on the senate side, he said there is no collusion this is being used politically. &(anlzdó9#4 jeanine: we may never know. >> let me finish. that's why you have an investigation. you wait until you hear all the evidence and all the people amy mentioned have said they haven't seen any evidence yet but they want to wait and judge the evidence when it comes in. they've all mentioned they are very concerned about this. so. [inaudible]

jeanine: north korean officials saying the country has successfully sent a mid- to long-range missile test aimed at verifying the capability of carrying a large scale heavy nuclear warhead. we are back with our panel. i'm going to go to you david. how do you prove a negative, specifically david's.that they haven't come up with any evidence yet.
9:46 pm
how long do you wait, and is this job security or prophylactic for the head of the fbi to stay in the job forever? >> you can't, and the reason he was fired is because he had come to use a military firm, combat ineffective. no one trusted his decision-making or his motive. james clapper in march said there was no proof of russia influenced, joe mansion has said that, diane feinstein had said that. jeanine: we don't want to waste time on that. everyone has said there's no evidence. to david's point, he is saying look, we never know what may come up so david, you tell me, how long do you wait? >> it's not like the congressional committees haven't done investigations before. they are proceeding as they do with an investigation. they need to talk to witnesses and look at documents and do subpoenas. we saw there were some subpoenas sent out by the fbi. the fbi is proceeding in the same way. as a judge, you know you have to
9:47 pm
wait until you have all of the evidence and evaluate the evidence. really worrying people is that donald trump is acting as if he's guilty by firing the head of the fbi. jeanine: what? well, whoa. stop. the fbi after testified had to send a letter to correct his soul sworn testimony that it was not accurate. he has not been functioning in the job. >> judge, in answer to your questionvññ?ñ and you post it tt
9:48 pm
president trump, we have this idea of due process but you don't allow a clouded decision to hang over someone indefinitely. that's not fair to this person. this show is called justice but justice delayed is justice denied and that's fair for true for the accused. you have to wrap it up and settle these questions and move forward on the agenda. jeanine: what david is talking about is giving it time. if ji james comey can figure oun e-mail prosecution, do you think you can figure out a russian investigation. >> what do the democrats have left. they don't have much impact on policy. what else do they have to do accept partisan pouting. it's not stopping president trump. he continues to work his agenda and that's what we will see in the upcoming weeks. david i'm giving you the last word. >> democrats and republicans should stand up for the rule of law. that means allowing our judicial processes to go forward in a fair way. we should have independent counsel to investigate the congressional committee should investigate and we should have a
9:49 pm
new fbi director who is going to allow the fbi agents to do their job and figure out who is responsible. >> david okay, we get the point. when you say allow them to do their job, they are doing their job. the deputy director of the fbi said there was no white house interference and everything is a matter of record within the fbi. they will continue the case. the fact that james comey is gone will not stop an investigation. are you not confident that the house of the senate committee and fbi can do their job? you think that's not good enou enough? >> there are many reasons to have an independent commission or special counsel. >> those are two very different things by the way. the commission is pursuing a political one. you keep saying those. [inaudible] jeanine: street justice is next. don't go away.

they wanted james comey fired in the first place? >> the left once james comey fired. they want him gone and then the president fires him and now the president is a villain. what's going on. >> it sounds hypocritical if you ask me. jeanine: the president fires comay. the left is in a tizzy. they wanted him fired two, but they don't like his timing. what should the president have done. >> the president should have left him in place. what the left wanted was for james comey to stand up and resign. jeanine: what's going on? >> we love president trump. he did the right thing. james comey was no friend of the president. >> trump colluded with the russians to win the election. james comey is not a political appointee and he should not be fired. jeanine: the left says he's the

9:56 pm
>> yes. >> if he saved somebody's life tomorrow they would say he did it wrong. jeanine: did he do the right thing at the wrong thing. >> wrong. impeach him. >> why do you want to impeach the president? >> we don't even know where were at right now. here we are. thank you. that's it for us. i just want to say to my mother, i love you mom, thanks for everything. to all your moms, thanks for watching. and the dads too. we will see you next satu new bike? yeah, 'cause i got allstate. if you total your new bike, they replace it with a brand new one. that's cool. i got a new helmet. we know steve. it's good to be in (good hands).
