italy and brussels and nato. these investments that were made today, these are investments in american jobs, infrastructure, and the idea that you have got the media on this side of the atlantic ocean arguing about whether the president should even remain in office is so ridiculous when you compare it to what he's doing as president of the united states. judge jeanine: what is the significance of the president on his first international trip selecting saudi arabia as his first stop? >> that's what i'm saying. he wants to go into the heart of the muslim world and show unity with them in pushing back extremism. this trip is significant because

it reestablishes certainly america's dominance as a global leader. and we are look for cooperation in what the president has said from practically day one of campaign let alone his presidency. we want to push back on those who want the death and destruction of good people. he has gone to saudi arabia to show unity with niece muslim nations. judge jeanine: i understand president el-sisi and other others will be there. the united states is realigning with its former allies. is this significant in terms of the repudiation of obama and the iran deal? >> i haven't heard anyone mentioning president obama in

thinking about this trip. the only time i have heard him mentions is when experts in this field talked about how saudi arabia and others in this area had to suffer through 8 years with not having a strong cooperation in defeating terrorism and extremism. it's important to recognize the growing threat of iran. it made a terrible that even some senators like chuck schumer was critical of. the direct threat to israel and people around the globe. judge jeanine: what is the effect of the first lady being on this trip.

her being with him, what signal does that send? >> it's not a signal as much as the substance of it. we have a brilliant first lady who is an immigrant herself who understands the rich diversity of the globe and is side by side on this trip with her husband the president of the united states. everyone will focus on how elegant and poised and dignified she is all of which is true. but who she is in terms of her partnership with her husband the pathr president of the united states and how she is representing this country in a beautiful, dignified and elegant way. i personally as the mother of four school-age children think so much of the first lady putting her motherhood first

saying publicly that their son needs one of his parents with him at all times. judge jeanine: people talk about how elegant she is. we'll talk about that later in the show. tomorrow what can we expect from the speech? it's interesting because we had president obama's first speech that was an apology for being an american. i suspect it will be different tomorrow from the *? >> america first does not mean america alone. the cooperate action together to push back on the growing threat against radical terrorists and extremism.

the president of the united states believes all children, muslim, jewish, christian, atheist children ought to live in peace and pursue their dreams. judge jeanine: last question, there is a lot of question as to whether he will use the term "islammic terrorism" tomorrow. do you know? >> i won't get ahead of the president's speech. it has been previewed to the press. the previews are consistent with what i said tonight. he has been clear about his views and his willing necessary to go to the midwest and share the cooperation. judge jeanine: joining me now with more reaction, congressman ron desantis. good evening, congressman. this lavish reception, i mean,

dancing and the red carpet and the king almost running down the red carpet when the president landed. when you juxtapose that against the reception of president barack obama of which there was none, you have to draw some conclusion. >> it was amazing it was the trump tower sand box edition. it was extravagant. gulf states like saudi arabia being the most prominent realize iran has gained a huge amount of power the last 8 years. iran is wreaking havoc around the region. trump arctic late the danger posed by iran and made a commitment that the united states will stand with our allies.

that's a huge deal for a country like saudi arabia. they have a good relationship with president el-sisi of egypt. the israeli relationship has improved. king abdullah of jordan and the uae. they will be much more effective fighting isis. when you talk about going into sunni-arab parts of iraq iraq, they may not like isis, but if they see the united states groveling towards iran, they don't want to be dominated by a shiia power. judge jeanine: isn't historically, saudi arabia, aren't they historical enemies? >> saudi is basically the heart of sunni islam. iran is the heart of shiia islam

than is fighting going on between them. judge jeanine: how do you look at the fact that the president has chosen saudi arabia for the first visit. >> the moderate arab countries work with israel. a lot of it is behind the scenes because they do that it unless their interests to join with israel, share intelligence, have military cooperation because they recognize the threat that iran pose. from israel's perspective they have to be very pleased with the monthsture this administration has taken. netanyahu came to congress, i was there, raising the dangers with the nuke deal. obama didn't listen to them. now they have a partner in this coalition recognizing the

iranian threat. judge jeanine: i can't let you go without asking about the special counsel appointed this week by -- requested by the department of justice. it's interesting. for all the obama years, special counsel and independent prosecutors, no one ever recused themselves, no one got an independent prosecutor. how do you look at the department of justice in leave it what's gone not first four or five months. >> you have had the irs targeting scandal, the hillary scandal that deserved special counsel and it did not happen. the order signed by the deputy a. gevment referenced comey's testimony in mare in which he recognized the existence of a koirnlt intelligence investigation. it requires a criminal matter

donald trump at the red carpet. everybody gathered there. this an effort to reset a relationship that is crucial for the national security our country which has been ignored for the past 8 years by the obama administration. judge jeanine: the president could have chosen any country as his first stop on his first international trip. why saudi arabia? >> because you are fighting isis and trying to counter iranians, ambitions aggressions in the region. you want not arab country, the custodian of the two holy mosques, the heart of sunni islam. to get the world's largest oil producer on your side. the israelis were a little bit uncomfortable, but they understood it, they are second,

and this is a very important moment and a very important decision. judge jeanine: what do you think of the fact that the first lady did not wear any head covering, what does it say? >> michelle obama did not wear head covering. under sunni islam, foreign women who are not muslims do not have to cover their hair or wear a veil. when i worked there for the first gulf war and the second gulf war, i was not required to dress that way. i think as a woman, though, you have to be aware of the huge gap that remains still between western human rights standards and that country. even though they have made progress, they have a long, throng way to go. but this trip is not about human rights. it's all about national

security, about resetting this relationship, and defeating isis. the most important thing that happened is not necessarily the $110 million worth of arms. it was the creation of a joint effort to fight the message of radical islamic extremism. they won't use the words "islammic" tomorrow but the saudis are partly responsible for the spread of this pernicious version of islam and they have to be part of the solution. they have to help with the messaging to take people away from the perversion of the faith. it's hugely important. judge jeanine: the iranians

elected president rouhani. what does that tell us in terms of the american and iranian relationship if any? >> i haven't been to iran for many years because i'm banned. i haven't been able to get a visa because of my reporting. but the reelection by this large and unexpected margin of president rouhani is a good sign for u.s. relations with iran in the long run. and i know it makes the saudis uncomfortable every time the united states reaches are out and talks to iran. iran is a player in the region. they have to be watched carefully. they have to be monitored. their adherence to the nuclear accord has to be monitored. i think it's a positive sign what happened in rwanda. judge jeanine: judy miller, thanks so much. coming up, an all-star political

arabs respect him. they don't respect the beta male obama. you see that. he's getting a warmer reception. they probably like that radical islam stuff. msnbc was going crazy, they will be so upset with the muslim ban. no, saudi arabia banned christians. they understand the idea of sovereign nations. judge jeanine: there are many muslims killed by isis. if we can get moderate space, if we can get whether it's bahrain, the uae, jordan, egypt, saudi arabia to fight the common enemy and believe in us again, we all benefit it's a realignment of the middle east. ann: i think that's right.

it's not this nato or the u.n. going in. it's the united states dealing with the arab countries again as separate sovereign nations and we'll have their back. but they should be the ones fighting the enemies in the their backyard like we should be fighting the enemies in our backyard which brings us back to the wall. what do you think of the fact that the president has taken melania, the appearance of a family going there. we haven't seen that much of melania. a significant message? ann: i'm not sure i like melania. i think she makes a great first lady. i'm glad she is not involved in policy like a few first ladies i could name.

judge jeanine: that's your answer? ann: hillary clinton. judge jeanine: let's talk about the statement you made while you still have hope in the trump presidency, you are ready to jump ship. ann: not exactly. liberals have not gotten to me. i will never -- the daily caller interview, they did get ahold of it. he time i try to be mad at trump the media bring me back with some outrageous ridiculous charge against him. but in terms of the criticism, i think i'm exhaling his main campaign promise. build the wall. and if supporters don't keep the pressure on him to keep his campaign promise and then if he starts building the wall the media could say you are kind of a nut on this wall thing, your supporters aren't even asking for it.
