>> he's behind home plate. >> stayed on! >> sean : and here's more of how this horrifying scene played out here in alexandria. shortly after 7:30 today thisut morning, a gunman opened fire on members of congress. >> they asked me if this team was the republican or democrat team. i responded that it was the republican team practicing, and he proceeded to shoot republicans. t >> congressman steve scalise was shot and badly wounded. >> one staffer was shot. he ran with his wounds to the dugout. >> the heroes of the police officers who attacked the

shooter, and in doing so, probably saved many, many lives. >> an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. [applause] >> sean : and earlier tonight, president trump and the first lady, melania trump, visited the hospital where congressman steve scalise is being treated tonight. our thoughts and prayers are obviously with him. his family, and the other victims, and of course their families. joining us now with reactions, congressman, who says he spoke with a gunman moments before the shooting. congressman mark walker, who says the suspect planned to kill as many republicans as possiblep and also with us, congressman bill johnson and robert marshall, and they are on the congressional baseball team.

they were not on the scene when the shooting actually occurred. >> so we had finished batting practice, and he ridesti with me to the park, and he said, when you want to leave. i said, we can leave at any time. and then chairman conway was in the batter's box, so when he finished, we walked off the field and walked by scalise. i talked to gary who was standing beside him for a brief moment, and then ron and i walked to the car. on the waye to the car, we encountered an individual who asked me, who was practicing today. republicans or democrats? i said this is the republican team, he saidd okay thanks. turned around and walked apparently to his car. we didn't find out about the shooting until we got back to capitol hill. >> i know they show to the picture of him, because he also talked to sanders, who was with you.

>> sean : had to be scary from your site. >> looking back at it, i could have been the first victim had he chose to start right there in the parking lot. luckily he didn't. we are all praying for steve scalise and the officers that showed today, taking on an activeat shooter. not just the law enforcement, the staffers that were there that were wounded, but also our teammates who applied tourniquet's and covered each other. it just amazing stories that you hear from this. >> sean : i heard mo brooks in particular put a tourniquet on the congressional agent. >> just a lot of stories my colleagues will tell you, but, i ended up going back down to the alexandria police department to provide a statement and giving them a layout of the baseball field. described the guy that i

encountered who ultimately was the shooter, and described him to a t. it's absolutely no doubt. >> sean : the guy that talk to you? you are right next to congressman scalise when this happen. this had to be a scary expanse for you too. >> i heard the gunshot and knew immediately what it was. i'll yelled at trent that there was a gunshot, and trent said, yeah, he's got a gun! get out of here. we started trying to get to cover, and at least two more shots were fired and i saw steve get hit. i saw him go down. >> i'm hearing the shots, he's throwing off a lot of shots. >> i knew steve was hit low, i didn't know if he was hip in the hip or the like. we got through the gate and the fence behind an oak tree, and it

steve crawling out of the infield. >> was he still trying to shoot specifically? >> at that point, sean, i think he was trying to shoot people who are trying to get in the dugout. i was yelling at steve to stay down, to stay still. the shooter then moved from the third-base side around to where we were, and special agent david bailey and special agent crystal greiner, they ran to the gun. >> sean : this is important to note, and you will tell me i'm wrong, they were out in the open? this guy's got a rifle and they had pistols. >> yeah. when heot moved around, they mod back around, and at some point, easpecial agent greiner was hitn the ankle. i saw her pull herself up on the suv to continue firing on the sky. they saved our lives. >> sean : you are very close to scalise. he goes down, how early the when

the incident starts. >> probably second or third shot. when we were moving toward that gate, steve was to my left a little bit ahead of me, and i saw him get hit and go down. i want to say it was the third shot. >> sean : who was playing the third-base? it was almost point-blank range. >> trent kelly. w i could not believe he missed him. it was a miracle. >> sean : he shot right at him. >> he shot his first shot at it may have hit the fence, but it's incredible that he was not injured. >> sean : congressman douglas, i want to talk about these two capital police people, because i remember 9/11, the rest of the world that works at the trade center, they are going down and here's a group of guy, firemen, paramedics, policemen, first responders, they are going up.

for example, the post was dead wrong when they reported the deputy attorney general, rob rosenstein, threatened to quit because it james comey's firing. he said the exact opposite on camera and a tv station in washington, d.c. then, "the washington post" flat out wrong, the acting fbi director claiming that never happened. of course "the washington post" not the only members of this destroyed trump media that we've been talking about getting it wrong over and over again. abc, cnn, "the new york times," they have all done the exact same thing. so, tonight, and over the next few days, when the media predictably is going to breathlessly and hyperventilate all kinds of reports and brand-new black helicopters ande tinfoil hat conspiracy theories to the american people as they lie again, remember they have zero credibility left.

it is only a matter of time before this too will be debunked. here is the only massive issue being ignored in all of this. we have actual crimes, actual collusion, that needs to be fully completed investigated, and prosecuted. and they have nothing to do with president trump or his i administration. james comey testified loretta lynch tried to influence the fbi's hillary clinton email investigation. that is called obstruction of justice. comey also may have broken the law. we talked about these laws. if you thought it was obstruction, he had a moral and legal obligation to tell someone about it immediately. robert mueller, he has more conflicts of interest. we can, show. which also are violations of federal law. comey and mueller have been friends for a long time.

comey admitted he leaked a memo to "the new york times" hoping it would get a special counselor. now, fox news previously reported, comey's testimony last week was called "closely coordinated with the special counsel." these are massive conflicts of interest that cannot be ignored. according to my colleague, gregg jarrett, comey and mueller's relationship. may violate two laws. it gets worse. mueller's investigative team. and he hired three people who donated to democrats, clinton and obama, and the very same lawyer that represented hillary clinton. speaking by the way of the clintons, we know hillary clinton committed a felony with her email scandals. if the democrats wantt to talk about collusion, let's takea a look at the collusion with vladimir putin, uranium one, 20% of the material to make nuclear
