"the five" is next, don't miss it. >> hello everyone, i'm dana perino along with kimberly guilfoyle along with jesse watters. it's 9:00 in new york city and this is "the five." democrats have been obsessed with russia meddling in the 2016 election earlier this month. former fbi director james comey revealed some possible interference closer to home. come and testify before congress that obama's attorney general, loretta lynch told him not to use the word investigation discussing the clinton email case. the news that even prominent democrats. >> at one point, the

attorney general had directed at me not to call an investigation but is said to call it a matter. that gave me a queasy feeling. >> i would have a queasy feeling too. i think we need to know more about that. >> senator feinstein and the judiciary committee are now taking bipartisan action announcing today they are investigating quote alleged political interference by ms. lynch and the clinton emailt case. in related news, foxnews.com is reporting that the state department is investigating whether hillary mishandledig classified information which could lead to the former secretary of state losing her security clearance. to not adjust your sets. that was not a story from two years ago. this is actually still going on. richard, you did also have feinstein today say that she did not believe that attorney general lynch played any role in the clinton investigation. these letters are just a request for information to put to rest a speculation about the issue. what are you? >> here's the thing for it as of this before on the show. i think no justice department can be elevated above politics. they've all play politics and
9:02 pm
history. i think this is very interesting.ve i think that loretta lynch clearly probably made somees mistakes and what she did here. i'll be the first to admit that. hillary clinton lost the election. just let her walk in the woods. >> in fact, as brett pointed out earlier, hillary clinton is actually quite active following the republicans with the deaf party. >> after all the stuff we've h gone through, he or she goes demonizing a group of people, calling us killers. that's not a good thing to do in this heated political climate. it's always about hillary. it's always about the clintons. and there the acid reflux of the democratic party no matter what. they just keep coming back up every year. there is another clinton problem. anyway. the letters are meant to put to rest a speculation. that is exactly what donald trump wanted from comey, and he didn't get it. we can say there's no there there.
9:03 pm
this is truly the anti-transparent party. this is about using and manipulating speech to hide truth. they didn't want to say investigation, they wanted to say it's a matter. that was janet napolitano's way of replacing the word terror. or workplace violence. they have a real problem with truth. they have no transparency whatsoever. this proves the case. >> i just think you guys really like hillary clinton. including the president who continue to tweet about her after he's beaten her and defeatedd her. u.s. continue to talk about her like you're going on a date. >> what sort of legal trouble might hypothetically a former attorney general began for something like this? > loads. here's the thing. she's not going to make a case against her, now she? the last time she testified testified in the senate committee, she refused to answer the question. i think that she is going to say i'm not going to testify, she subpoenaed, if she's subpoenaed,
9:04 pm
shall try to say for the moment or something. she's not going to to do it the and spill the beans on any of this whether there was any kind of inappropriate behavior or no not. as it relates to hillary clinton's security clearance, it's groundhog day all over again because we been doing this over again. time, they'll actually pull the security clearance. that would've been messy while running for president of the states. smashing blackberries and keeping a server up by the toilet. >> all true. speak to guys are obsessed. >> the toilet part. >> the calvin klein cologne. she still has security clearanc clearance. she still has it. it's unbelievable. >> they keep it as long as they don't abuse the privilege. >> because she's shown such a great track record of not abusing privileges. that reminds me of the person who graduates from college and they come back to college afterwards and starts hanging out of the party.
9:05 pm
everyone's looking around like what you doing here? get out of here. it's time for hillary to get h lost. y?she could be in more trouble. to looking into whether she mishandled classified information. i've been saying this for a long time that donald trump needs to do this. i'm very glad he's been a listening. if they're going to play games of this russian investigation and all these conspiracies, let's reopen some hillary investigations. let's have the state department inquire about whether she mishandled information. what's fair is fair. let's look into loretta lynch. >> the state department is. >> but the boomerang on the democrats and then once again, if muller comes out and says no evidence that trumped anything wrong andd neither of his associates did anything wrong, you have who is in the crosshairs still? you have lunch in the crosshairs, hillary is still in thee crosshairs, she was left of the subpoena. clapper, samantha paris, everybody is now under suspicion. and the democrats have wasted

six months talking about russia instead of talking about these issues.us >> you probably had a drink with stephen king before he came to the show tonight. we can tell. because you're just spinning this crazy story once again, going back to how you started this. you guys are obsessed with hillary clinton. >> just like you guys aren't obsessed with trap. let's focus on the media really quickly. they've been beating up on donald trump over conversations. what are these? these are conversations. i don't think bill or the rhetoric talking about their favorite soaps on the tarmac. these so-called conspiracies are obsessionso are similar in that they're both about conversations. but when you look at the coverage, are they comparable? are they balanced? are the equal? they treated conversation with trump as obstruction of some kind of deep conspiracy but with hillary, it's nothing. nothing to see here, move along. >> at the same with lynch and
9:07 pm
she got a pass. it will be interesting to see if she does actually answer questions if she asked mike answers them. i do think it's a little flimsy. one of the letters from the senate intel committee is based on reporting from "the washington post" about a document that the fbi even said in their own assessment isbi tht was bad intelligence and according to people familiar with its contents, possibly even fake to confuse the spi. >> so i think it was debbie larson that was emailing. >> the fox d.c. bureau said an investigation, they couldn't find that he actually said that. >> can we talk about how juicy it is before we knock it down? that talk about how juicy it is. >> let's do some fake news. >> before he starts, this is hashtag fake news.
9:08 pm

9:09 pm
the cia gave him information on russia a long time before the election. i hardly see it. it's an amazing thing. in other words, the question is, if he hadd the information, why didn't he do something about it? you should've done something about it. but you don't read that. it's quite sad. >> now after the president says that, at least are we on the same page that russia tried to interfere in the election? it seems that now we can at least be on that same page. >> correct. >> amen. >> were to be go from here? >> the rest of it is all there k saying untrue, no evidence of collusion, no evidence of obstruction, lots of people coming to testify and so far nothing has surfaced. >> i think you're mixing two different investigations. their different investigations.
9:10 pm
the sun investigation is not prosecutorial. it's a fact-finding mission about how to protect our election. the muller investigation could be a criminal investigation into what happened in russia and what this white house could've possibly done to cover itru up. because we don't know. it's hard to jump to an assumption there is no obstruction of justice until the investigation is over. figure talking to a prosecutor's right think i've got this covered. i love this. educate me about the law. what i'm telling you is that, he testified that he did not feel that the president of the united states was trying to obstruct any kind of investigation orru justice so wt happened, that i was just 5 minutes ago basically let go and fired them. did something else materialize in between that time that is going to be a game changer and tell you that there are actual fact substantiate this? was going to come from? >> let me be very clear here. it was the trump justice

department that appointed a special counsel in this investigation. therefore, his own justice c department thinks there is of theirer there. why else would he have a special counsele ? >> they don't point someone because i think for sure somebody is guilty. and they say there's been something, something some kind of suspicion or suggestion in the interest of justice and the interest of transparency, will go ahead and push this forward. it's very different from saying there is a lot of evidence like a panel of a grand jury. >> i say you're not going to find anything that trump has already said. he's the most transparent president in the history of the united states.s. you know his every thought. you t know what he is doing. you know where he's at because he's tweeting it. there ispa no cover-up because e refuses to keep his mouth shut. you know everything that's going on. >> give me one more second here. the president said during the campaigns that the election was
9:12 pm
rigged against him. but what "the washington post" story today is saying is the election might have been right but into his favor. >> i can't even keep up with what rigging is going on. what i do know is this, president obama knew that the russians were trying to do something with the reelection and did nothing. hillary clinton had a secret server that was potentially have to nobody did anything to her. the dnc was warned about hacking. they didn't put up any defenses. and then they got hacked and didn't do anything about that after. he gave his password to a hack hacker and the password was password. how is this trump's fault again? >> he's the president. you guys continue to obsess about hillary clinton like how i started the segment. >> coming up, after johnny depp is apologizing for joking about assassinating donald trump, but is he sincere? that story when we return.

assassinated president? [cheers and applause] i want to clarify, i'm not an actor. i live for a living. however, it's been a while. and maybe it's time. >> he's drunk. anyway, that moment sums up depp's declining career. in a desperate attempt to be edgy, he figured he could win over the british audience with a joke about killing trump. when all else fails, go there. it reveals a truth about johnny depp. he's not a trailblazer, but an imitator. it's why hugh imitates keith richards wherever he goes. remember when rachel decided she was black? he is doing the same thing. he's culturally appropriating case record. he's a member of aarp, it's time to stop dressing like her mother's hat rack. he's since apologized and said

9:19 pm
i think he said too much wrong. i think what's going on right now, i'm running out of things to say about celebrities talking about assassinating the president. it's gotten kind of old. there's a pattern now that's emerging, the hard-core hollywood left has an assassination fetish. there is a death cult surrounding the president. can you imagine if vince vaughn or greg got filled, entertainment right-wing celebrities started fantasizing about assassinating president obama? it would be earth shattering. >> i think we might have. >> they had ted nugent. >> we do this every night on the five. >> we knew we were going in that direction. >> i just want someone in hollywood to at least condemn this guy. can they condemn him? >> alcan done him and i'll

with warmbier's release and so did mr. warmbier's father, .hat's your take on this malarkey? >> i think that i wish it were true that we could solve all our problems with north korea with rodman diplomacy. but alas, i think i might be dreaming if that's possible. said that he would try to capitalize on a situation like this including his agent going on national television and trying to take credit when the family is grieving. the family and the father specifically contradict his account of the event. i can't stop thinking about otto warmbier and his family and thinking about what we need to do as a country to let them know that this was unacceptable. >> got to put a stop on is north korea stuff. would he think about this? >> we do. i think rodman is a prop for an evil dictator and is either too dumb to realize he is a prop he doesn't care. he's an egomaniac.

rodman is only about rodman. in the 90s, he was all about dying his hair pink and the piercings and dressing up like a woman and putting lipstick on. he is a. i think he goes over to north korea because the only place he gets vip treatment since the 90s, and i do feel bad for the warmbier family because it kind of trivializes the ghoulish miss of the regime by having some washed up rebounding champ over there making no sense at all. spend a of the trip was sponsored by pot coin, which is as new currency for cannabis. >> sounds great. >> which makes it even more bizarre. what your take on the trip? >> this is not the first time that he is try to go over and use that as a publicity stunt for himself, but he was with her that effective, what about the other hostages that are being held by north korea? i really doubt that rodman has ever heard otto warmbier's name before last week.
9:49 pm
>> if you find out he's telling the truth, i'll be the first to apologize but if he is lying and i believe he is lying, he is lower than a worm. which is his nickname. why did north korea keep him? he is one american i wouldn't mind north korea resting, but i guess they figure they can't put dennis rodman and, . >> didn't we say rodman if he really want to be a hero would go over there and just choke this guy out? if you really want to redeem yourur reputation, that's what e should've done. picoult he wouldn't meet with him directly when all this was transpiring. >> kim jong-un you said is a friend for life. he's a dictator who has suppressed other people, taking away from basic human rights. you think everyone is actually happy. >> people don't see the good side about that country. >> i wonder if rodman actually
