into it. why not do it in an intelligent way that's informative and gives people time to respond? >> well, that's what happens sometimes when we are working on stories. we give people time for fair comment. we are digging. we are digging for facts but i don't think the white house press corps is going to buy that. they want to ask whatever question they want on the moment, on the fly. i have to agree with ari, it has turned into a train wreck. some kind of horrible reality tv show. it's not just about a mutual relationship where people are sharing ideas or asking questions. ari is 100% right. most of the time, my idea of investigative reporting is going out there, hitting the beach. calling the sources. the stories not there. >> sean: i know it's been bad. i know you dealt with a difficult time. i know there was bush derangement syndrome but msnbc's
