language, and it may escalate. >> greg: does kim want to find out? this is the calculation. >> dana: in the way that the president hass talked using the exact same language. just in slightly different tone tones. essentially saying the same thing. president obama did appeared he's loving, hippie, president obama. if they act, he will be annihilated with our military arsenal. before an attack would not imminent. the intel now shows this is coming to a head. >> kennedy: and this is coming to a hit, because they've given us a time in a place. the president is surmising this with more psychological strategy that we have seen presidents do in the past. i think people should have a more strategic patience in this country. see that my work, because were also seen the aftermath of this that there are diplomatic back channels. there is a dialogue, and i think that is most interesting thing.

get back to something you said at the a beginning of the show, greg. you're absolutely right. s this is the part of the presidential orientation that every administration despises. i would say, let north korea -- it is part of the three failures. peace in they, middle east, some sort of friendly relationship with russia, and disarming nuclear north korea. every administration tries to do something about the three, and have all failed. >> greg: you think president trump cannot bring peace to the middle east? jared kushner is going there next week. >> jesse: it is in motion. >> mo: number four is health care. >> kennedy: don't forget balance a budget. >> dana: can we play for you, greg, oliver north about sentience connect >> greg: i'm not sure. >> the problem with sanctions and that they take too long.

the bottom line, this needs to be shut down and days weeks months. not years. >> dana: president trump said today at a press conference, they are considering more sanctions and at a higher level. >> greg: sanctioning who? before he did not say. possibly more with kim, because one of the things he likes to do to keep people around him happy is give them gifts. lots of gifts. if you cut off his ability to do that, the people in the military will start to get antsy and turn ona him. >> greg: it you have to sanction and hit everybody. including, and i said this before, north korea is bad but so are its parents. you have to hit china. you have toed hit the banks. the easiest reflex is to attribute rationality to north korea. we have done it all falls. i know this guy is nuts. embracing the assumption that he is rational rights of any of these options.

we can talk about how we got there. >> mo: every administration leading up to this bears responsibility. 100%. democratic and republican. escalating a war of words with the person, who thrives on that. i just do not know if that is the right way. i hope there is a multifaceted strategy here. i believe some of the people who he surrounded himself with. people like l haley who are proving themselves quite good. who navigated that screw to counsel. what we saw out of china. all of that is very helpful. when the president continues to escalate the rhetoric the way he did, not only would north korea, but tossing out the notion of military action against venezuela. >> greg: i loved that. can i tell you why? ti'm so sorry.

there are two things. i hear that phrase, good cop, bad cop, in this case, you have a lot of good cops and one bad compared you have president trump and his cabinet. this is a strategic way of talking. the venezuela thing is to say to the world, we can handle north korea with one hand and do stuff on thend other. it is saying, north korea is a priority, but we have other stuff to deal with. it is a psychological trick. it is a persuasive trick to say, don't worry about it. >> jesse: closing argument. >> dana: if the regime in venezuela gets nervous and backs off from hurting innocent people. i don't think the president is actually contemplating military action in venezuela, but if they are worried he is one, but should he?
