last night due to the storm. we go to steve in texas. what do you got? >> we're trying to drive to beaumont but the road is a river. it gets to be seven feet deep behind me and there's frogs jumping around me. m throughout the day we've seen volunteers with heflat-bottom boats going into subdivisions to my left and right going door to door and pulling out anyone who wants to leave. for those who want to stay in their flooded houses they've been bringing medicine and canned goods. what happened here has been tremendous. 49 inches of rain in just five days. one effect when you get that much water that quickly, entire towns have become islands. we saw two men going out in the boat earlier. they were going to a lake about 16 miles away. they say the entire town is cut off by water. no rescuers have been there yet. we don't know what we're going to find. that's the real worry here when the water begins to recede what

happens andnd as devastating ast is there's something to brutalla honest about we're seeing. it's 180-degree difference from what we've been hearing under president trump. a lot of myths have been busted. texas is racist. false. texas hate immigrants. there was a story they were checking i.d.s for illegals at homeless shelters. false. helpless and victims but 90% of these people are pulling themselves up by the boot straps. we spend too much on the military. f a lot of the coast guards helicopters are saving people's lives. they're saying president trump can't run the government. think the coordination's been spectacular and if you're a republican president you'll always be criticized. bush was criticized for flying

over, katrina. president trump criticized for landing. president bush golfed during the oil spill and flooding and the media praised him and now trump lack empathy because he didn't put his arm around and cry with a survivor, it boils down to what liberalism is. liberals care about showing people that you care about their lives where republicans just want to save lives. >> kimberly, do you think watching this stuff will change the minds of anybody who are already in a divisive mind set like antifa is going to watch this and go, gee, i am a loser. i walk around in a disguise all day and see other people helping other people. i'm going to go get a job. >> they'll disavow and shed their coward masks and hug everybody. jesse, you bring up a point

>> well, i think you're right to this extent. i think the president promised on health care and then says congress didn't deliver. we can have lots of arguments there. but in this case i think tax cuts is so central to his campaign -- >> and for his successful re-election. >> and center mike lee said if we don't get tax reform done we're dead. that's true. they promised health care and tax reform. they did not deliver on health care. they have to deliver on tax reform. it's going to be complicated. the reason why this hasn't happened in over 30 years is because it's incredibly complex. i think republicans are better off with tax reform than health care because health care was very complicated to try to message to the american people because you're not really actually substantially reforming health care through the reconciliation process. i think there's more they can do with health care. it's smart to go to missouri, a state he won, i think by 19 points, putting pressure on a red state democrat.
