we are expecting this storm tore run just north of these islands eventually running over the bahamas here in the next couple of days as we get closer and closer to that eventual florida landfall. beginning to see that leading edge, very heavy rain heading that direction. drop a lot of the rain. the real story of this are the initial winds up to 185 miles per hour. gusting up to 225 miles per hour. it's stays a category 5 storm for a while. as you run through the caribbean, run on over to the bahamas, you start to run over land it loses some of that moisture that you run over the water. it begins to back down to a category 4 storm. eventually to a category 3 storm. but i'm taking you in to around saturday night into sunday morning will be just south of florida. that's when it's going to make its turn and head up in to florida. that's when you are talking about early monday morning. the only question at this point, guys is, it going to come up on the right-hand side, the east side of florida or come up in the

gulf of mexico? we are expecting that turn but we still aren't exactly sure where that turn is going to happen. so which side of florida is going to get it the worst yet. steve: man o man. wind gusts 225 miles per hour. abby: thank you, adam. we'll keep a close eye on that one. steve: yesterday we told you how 10 attorney generals were threatening to sue the administration unless they killed the damascus carks dreamer program. yesterday jeff sessions the attorney general came out and said it is unconstitutional. what we are going to do is we are going to rescind it. the previous president, barack obama, overstepped his authority, and we're going to give congress six months to figure out what to do about it. abby: yeah. this is what the president tweeted about. he said i worked forward to working with d's and r's in congress to address immigration reform to put hard working citizens of our country first. that's the message he continues to double down on. pete: it was pressroom mills of campaign. hard working americans who

pay taxes supportive of this government should be the priority not incentivizes illegal activity. of course he was asked about that decision and here is what he had to say. channels, right? >> yeah. especially given the fact that if he is convicted, and if governor chris christie, who is a republican does get to choose his successor, obviously that's going to change the political make jump of the senate. there is going to be one more republican in the senate if it all happens that way. so, i think you are right in the fact that if the shoe were on the other foot and if it were a republican on trial, it would be all over it. and i mean the "new york times" published a 1300 piece detailing the case and totally left out the fact that he was a democrat. and then they tried to sneakily self-edit it. if you now look at this story it, does mention that is he a democrat and only one time in the fourth paragraph. steve: how do you explain this sort of journalism? >> it is very clear they are quite literally not covering this story. when they are, they are literally not mentioning the fact they are democrat because they don't think it's relevant for whatever reason. i think it really just shows an afundamental bias, right in the fact they don't think this is a major news story.

pete: the u.s. and allies contemplating the next move after north korea test sixth and most powerful bomb to date. this as new reports surface that the rogue nation is preparing for more missile tests and threatening to quote send gift packages to the u.p.s. what options are truly on the table? here to weigh in retired green beret commander and former counter terrorism advisor to cheney colonel michael waltz. thank you for joining us this morning. >> thank you. pete: you say there are three different avenues but specifically a diplomatic avenue, military avenue and economic avenues. what if n. particular in each one of those lanes county u.s. do to prevent kim jong un from getting exactly what he wants? >> there are some things that we can do, i think, to change the chinese calculus. they are key here. pete: that would be the diplomats i can side. >> that would be on the diplomatic side, that's right. the chinese are trying to have it both ways. on the other hanat one time they agree with us but

on the other hand they don't enforce the sanctions but they are afraid if they choke north korea off economically the union will collapse. friendly to the u.s. right on chinese borders. how do we change that calculus diplomatically and eventually militarily so that they see north korea as more of a problem than it's worth and they take meaningful action? pete: how do you squeeze china just briefly on that. what more can be done to bring them to that table? >> militarily, a couple of things. one, south korea has asked for tactical nukes for the united states to look at reintroducing tactical nuclear weapons back into the south korean peninsula. we had pulled them out under bush sr. and the south korean defense minister recently asked for us to put those back. in secondly, the japanese are looking to hugely modify and increase the lethality of its military. its constitution con strains its post world war ii constitution con strains the

japanese from taking offensive military action. i think if we look at both of those things in a serious way, that will in a big way wake the chinese up to where they look at a changing regional dynamic. it's adversaries and its rivals, the south koreans and the japanese backed by the united states starting to step things up to where they look at continuing the status quo with north korea as more of a problem than it's worth. i think it's only then will they start to take meaningful action. pete: you mentioned the military attack nukes first strike capability or a response. we are doing a lot of military exercises in the region. is that effective as a show of force or only forces kim jong un to go faster so he can preempt our preemption on the military side. >> it's a response that we have to have and have to make to show our capability. but, pete, to be honest with you, we have been doing this for years. this tit-for-tat and war games. but i think -- and i don't think that the north koreans are going to respond to that who we need to respond are the chinese. if the chinese see japan

rearming in an offensive way and they see nukes getting back into south korea in a way they seriously don't like, this may change the calculus enough where they take action against kim jong un and either force him to stop or force regime change in north korea on chinese terms so that that allays some of their fears but stops this march towards what could be a horrible war on the peninsula. pete: you talked about the diplomatic and military options. the economic size is where you can put the squeeze on vis-a-vis china as well. talk about that. >> we have just started and we, being the treasury department, sanctioning chinese entities and russian entities both banks and individuals and companies that are doing business with north korea. we need to continue that. i think we need to expand it and then we need to build an international coalition so it's not just the united states sanctioning those international -- sanctions those chinese entities,

powerful. letting toward florida. pete: governor scott declaring a natural disaster emergency. inching closer to the u.s. steve: adam clots is tracking hurricane irma's path. it looks like it's heading to the keys and goes straight up toward florida. adam: we have a very big turn. northwest direction moving 16 miles per hour. it is going to make that turn shooting right up north. we have seen it lesser an tis lease. next big hit is going to be puerto rico. looking at all the watches and warnings stretching across the caribbean. going to move north of the islands passing over the bahamas. next landfall. not likely to make landfall in puerto rico but none the less going to be a powerful one. dropping a whole lot of rain as it moves past. heaviest rain is always on the right side of this storm. all of these islands are on the left side. means it's on the good side. 6 to 8 inches. biggest storm with this particular system is wind damage. winds of 185 miles per hour

gusting up to 225 miles per hour very powerful storm. satellite and radar in san juan. you are beginning to see outer bands and reaches so far the radar. you are beginning to see outer bands of very heavy rain moving closer and clovesser. that rain is going to pick up in that area closer today. the storm moving through tonight, wednesday night for san juan, okay, you are watching this track, wednesday 180 miles per hour. the winds do begin to calm down especially as you run over the bahamas. you run over land without that very warm water underneath to you fuel, this it is going to weaken a little bit. by the time we get into saturday, falling down to category 4. that's when we are just south, saturday night into sunday that's when you are just south of florida and you suddenly see a turn. it's been going northwest. all of the sudden shoot straight to the north. that's when we start to see all these different paths. right now they are all kind of in agreement that we're going to turn here on the east side of florida. maybe running up into the carolinas. again, that's been shifting every single pass, guys.

all we know definitely turning north. impacting florida, maybe the east coast as well. abby: smaller storm but powerful. steve: very compact. i have been reading the south florida newspapers schools closing in anticipation. where do they go. for the universities and stuff like that. do they go inland you? can't go inland we just saw that plot goes right up through the middle of the state. pretty much everybody i know down in florida who has a house down there already put up the shutters. and it is impossible to get water in south florida right now. i was reading, i think it was on the palm beach post. they said that they had talked to one fellow who figured a way around it. and that was he was ordering water on amazon prime because they would deliver it, you know, via air shipment free and he is apparently getting all sorts of pet foods and water and supplies delivered tomorrow, he hopes.

guarantees citizenship. pete: critic also say that could be de facto amnesty. does your bill include border enforcement, a wall? do you support the reality that if you don't address that than any immigration reform just becomes a revolving door? >> i think certainly this kind of legislation could be paired with border security. it could be paired with other reforms to immigration system. pete: wouldn't you say it needs to be? otherwise, we're focusing on folks that are here illegally and not on law abiding tax-paying citizens who feel like a lot of the policies pursued so far haven't served their interest. >> i certainly support stronger border security. i support reforming our visa system because a lot of people talk about the border and the wall but they don't talk about the fact that about half of the people who are here illegally overstayed their visas so the border has really nothing to do with it i support all of that. here is what the president called for yesterday. he called for action on this

issue. and here is the solution. a conservative version of legislation that recognizes these young people. and people talk about de facto amnesty but let's talk about the fact that these young people are de facto americans. they grew up in this country, they went to our schools. they are working here. they are paying taxes. some of them are willing to lose their lives for this country, to risk their lives for this country. so these kids are de facto americans. it's about time that the law recognizes them as such. and the president realizes that. that's why he is calling for action. the alternative to action is that these young people are subject to deportation in a matter of months. and obviously, in calling for action, the president doesn't support that position. so i urge all of my colleagues, republicans and democrats, sure, let's work together on a broader immigration package. let's secure the border. let's enforce the rule of law in this country. but let's also address these young people who are

currently in place. this is a satellite and radar from the last 12 hours. again, it can only reach out so far. this is a radar on the island of puerto rico. beginning to see those initial bands of very heavy rain moving closer and closer. they will begin with that heavy wind this afternoon. main brunt of that storm coming through the overnight hours. still a category 5 storm. pay attention to 185 mile-per-hour winds. put this in motion. as you run over the bahamas, you are running over land. all this heat and moisture, that fuels these storms. so you hit some land, slows down just a bit. there you are saturday at 2:00 a.m. just north of cuba. we are getting into sunday morning by the time we are just south of florida, continuing to slow down a little bit. there you are monday morning at 120 olympic winds. still a very powerful storm. and, steve, you mentioned something about this a little bit earlier. we get this turn here. this is not a hurricane harvey. harvey sat there five days. we are talking 40 to 50 inches. this one is going to keep moving. wherever it makes landfall

what do you expect from congress. >> what i expect from congress which is easy part is more inaction. what we have seen in the first eight months of this administration they have not been able to fulfill the promises that the american people have sent him there to do which includes repealing and replacing obamacare. we don't have a tax reform package done yet. we don't have infrastructure spending plan done yet. 11 legislative days left in the month of september where they are going to work. i don't think congress is going to take action any time soon. but, look, this was a big decision coming out of the white house. and what we have seen from the left following this decision was attacks on individuals in the white house. i specifically look at the congressman from illinois, louis guterres who attacked general kelly a four star marine called into question his service to this country. very disturbing to me in hyper partisan that decision is made by the president, executed by the staff. announced by the attorney general and the personal attacks by members of

everyone can agree that's what we should be doing so the united states is more competitive. him going to north dakota with a u.s. senator who is fundamentally aligned with trying to get something done on the tax reform is a very smart decision. pete: the president was up tweeting about 50 minutes ago about the trip. he said we will be going to north dakota today to discuss tax reform and tax cuts. we are the highest taxed nation in the world that will change. heidi heitkamp will be the first democrat to travel on air force one with the president. she is also very vulnerable. approval rating 30%. i got a text from grassroots conservative this morning saying hey we want to beat her in the 2018 elections. can she work con struckively to get a tax reform bill done but ultimately she votes against this president a lot, too. there is a lot of political needles to thread here. >> that's exactly right. north dakota is a state that has historically been arrested by republicans. president won it by a massive majority. he understands his popularity there. what is he trying to do is trying to bring people

together because it's important to get the tax package done. you are not going to get it done with just the 52 republicans. you need bipartisan support with 10 incumbent senators up for re-election in states that donald trump won. this is one of those targets right now that the president can have a major impact. abby: there is so much resistance to what the president is trying to do. we should all applaud moments like this. we are trying to do the right thing for the country. the fact that she is vawrnl and going on air force one shows what the constituents are wanting and they are wanting tax reform. steve: absolutely, i was reading this morning in one of the papers how wall street seems to be running out of steam because they don't think the president's tax plan is going to get through. do you have a prediction? >> we're going to see some type of tax package completed. my concern is it may not get done before december. and i think that's a real problem. because the closer we get to an election as you know the less rick adverse the members of congress are. it has to get done. we have to cut the corporate rate. we have to make sure we are

i can definitely admit to that because i have been there what i'm teaching young people is hey, start a young age, as far as saving money, because becomes self-reliant and not depending on others. can you go to college debt-free. can you become debt-free. pete: that also means you may be applying for grants and scholarships. it's not just work taking job which a lot of kids should do. there is financial opportunity there on the outside. >> absolutely. we are teaching that kids who work 10 to 20 hours a week can go to community college for free. at the same time i'm also teaching young people look up scholarships and grants every single day because can you go to college for free. pete: there are a lot more out there than people realize. last one is cut down on screen time. >> we know. this every kid is spending about 6 hours a day on their social media and there is nothing wrong with social media because i'm on it but what i want to suggest to young people is hey, step back a little bit. instead of being on social media, jump on a computer screen and look at college scholarships one hour a day. your mind is a business. feed that and grow your

properly. abby: how will congress do it? joining us now is senator lindsey graham. i know this is an issue that you are passionate about. you say this is a defining moment for president trump and that you urged him to get involved with congress. where does this go from here? >> well, number one, i think the president was right to terminate the program but give us six months to fix the problem. because it is unconstitutional. you had 10 republican attorney generals going to file a lawsuit today challenging the constitutionality of dockca. they would have won. so president obama really overreached so here's where we go from here. we have got to do two things for once which is tough for congress. we can't get one thing done. here is what i think is going to happen. we are going to deal with these kids through my legislation called the dream act or something like it. so they can stay here. they have to learn the language. they have to pass a criminal background check. all of them came as young kids, as minors. with no other place to go. if you legalize them and you don't start securing your border, you have another wave of illegal immigration.

there is the deal to be made here. so president trump's the dealmaker. here is what i think we should do. we should have a strong border security plan. marry that up with the dream act and make a down payment on immigration reform and move forward. pete: so, senator some have suggested that in some previous comments we have seen you have talked about passing the dream act first and then going to border security. would you be committed to saying doing them both at the same time. >> i think have you, to pete. because, you know, a lot of republicans feel sympathy for these kids. steve: yeah. >> a lot of americans do. you can't just keep having 11 million people keep coming here illegally. let's address the border problem and be fair to the kids. the kids add value to the country. they have no other home other than america. the president has a good heart for these kids. but the law is the law. so we have got six months. and here is where the president is so helpful and important. he can help us in the house. he got the healthcare bill through the house by getting personally involved. i think he can be a good

spokesman for this compromise of border security plus the dream acts. steve: what do you think, senator, i'm sure you were listening to corey lewandowski who was on this program about 10 minutes ago. >> yeah. steve: he said given your track record he doesn't expect much to get done. >> and he is right. i mean, you know, i made a joke yesterday the only thing standing between these kids and a letter life is the congress. how would you like to be in that spot? here is what i think is happening. the president has got the right attitude about the law and the kids. have you got the speaker of the house, the majority leader of the senate. we have a bunch of republicans like me who will be fair to these kids. they add value to our country. we are going to make it a win-win. but we also got to start fixing our broken immigration system by starting with our border. there is a deal to be made here to my democratic colleagues. when republicans say we should not legalize people until we start addressing the fundamentals of a broken immigration system, they are not wrong. abby: what happens with the wall?

barbecue from syracuse. abby: you said, yeah, yeah,. >> there is no such thing as great barbecue in new york. we'll try it. we got on the train to harlem. i had barbecue and crow, some of the best i ever had. later i went there to get their cookbook. the recipe for that creole potato salad comes out of the cookbook. it is best i ever had. i just love it. steve: walk over here, dave. by the way all the recipes on "fox & friends".com. that is this. right in front of us is the pork butt. governor, a lot of us make pork butt in the slow cooker. you actually inject it with a secret amalgam of stuff. >> won't be secret now on the website. i inject it the night before. gets all the favors in there. i cook it for 12 hours the following day in my master built smoker, just a perfect job of it. i use apple or mesquite wood, an hour before the pork butt is

finished, i put corn-on-the-cob in the shuck. first of all soak them in salt water for four or five hours. leave them? the shuck. put them in the snoker. turn them over in 30 minutes. one hour, you have the best corn. you don't have to season it. pull back, use the tusk as a handle to eat it with. it is that good. abby: can you make the potato salad, show us how it is done? >> the key, boil poe taters to. while you're doing, that put in the eggs and mayonnaise. one of key ingredients with this, with a brand, zatarin's creole mustard. that gives us the punch. there are other different mustards but if you use zatarin to make this, it will be face-slapping good. steve: would you like to have a cooking show to put things together? >> no. >> but i love to cook. it's a lot of fun. abby: tell you governor, there is special relationship you have with a dad and daughter.
