10:01 pm
chuck schumer, nancy pelosi can never be trusted and how vital it is to the president to keep the promises that he made to you. that is the opening monologue. a colossal failure by republicans to govern and pass the president agenda and keep the promises is now forcing president trump to seek out alternative ways to now get things done. what you're watching unfold here is the failure literally push the president.by into the arms of chuck schumer ander nancy pelosi. as we have explained on the show, president trump is moving at lightning speed. all the campaign promises one by one. republicans and the house and senate have zero sense ofse urgency. no sense of accountability, and even after promising for years and years and years that they would deliverea for you the american people, they have not. republican lawmakers not in his corner, the president has few

options. can either wait around for republicans to get their act together or he can try to forge ahead on his own. that means even reaching out to democratso. last night president trumpht met with chuck schumer and nancy pelosi, and they raced with a press release saying in part "leader chuck schumer and i had a meeting with president trump where we agree to a plan to work out an agreement to protect our nations dreamers from deportation. we insisted that the bipartisan dream act would be the basis for that protection, and that we would review border security measures that didid not include building a wall." the president responded this morning, tweeted "no deal was made last night on daca, massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for content." the wall under construction in the form of new innovation of old and existing fences and walls will continue to be built. and then this afternoon, the

president responded further and hesp shot down the claim that te deal was in place and that the border wall would not be built.l here is the president in his own words, not to chuck and nancy's, watch. >> i put out a statement that i did not say that at all. we have to understand if it is in the dutch at the lament budget or another deal, in a short time the wall will be funded. otherwise we are not doing anything. we are not looking at citizenship or amnesty. we are looking at allowing people to stay here, we are working with everybody. republicans, we are working with democrats, i just spoke with paul ryan, he is on board. everybody is on board. they want to do something. we are not talking about amnesty. we are talking about taking care of people that were brought here. people that i've done a good job, and today were not brought here of their own volition, but very importantly what we want, we have to have the wall. if the wall is going to be obstructed when we need the funds at a little bit later

date, that will be determining how much we need. then we are not doing anything. what we are doing is we're doing it in conjunction with the republicans. we havec a very good relationshp with a lot of people. a lot ofip people want this tole happen. theypl expect it to happen. we will see if it happens. but we will only do it if we get extreme security. not only surveillance, but everything that goes along with surveillance, and ultimately we have to have the wall. if we doha not have the wall, we are doing nothing. >> sean: if we do not have the wall, we are doing nothing. then he said that we are not talking about amnesty. later in the day president trump double down when he got toy the white house. look at this. >> just so you understand we are round renovating mass sections of the wall right now, and essentially it will be brand-ne. we can use that. and if the democrats are not going to approve it, then we will not do what they want. we areap not talking about amney at all. we have not talked about amnest amnesty. there will be no amnesty. we are not talking about. that.

daca now, and to the wall very soon. by the wall will happen. thank you. >> sean: now since last night, i suspected, and i know the president very well, i have interviewed him many, many times. i assumed it that he was negotiating last night. he needs to set the record straight. why? because chuck schumer and nancy pelosi statements are beyond disturbing. they are claiming this. that thehe democrats get everything they want, they get daca coming in the president does not get the wall. the one thing that everybody needs to understand about chuck schumer and nancy pelosi, they do not like the president. they cannot stand him. they want him to fail, and they do not have his best interest at heart or in mind. they only care about scoring cheap political points, why? because they want seats in 2018. remember since 2009, democrats have been getting destroyed at the ballot box, losing the presidency, 13 senate seats, 64 house seats, 13 governorships
10:06 pm
and 13 state houses. as soon as it does not serve them politically, i can promise you that chuck schumer in nancy pelosi, they are going to turn around and stabbed the president in the back. that is a fact. also a fact that it was not that long ago that chuck schumer ande nancy pelosi were trashing the president. let's remind everyone. speak outut the president's decision to end daca was heartless and it was brainless. >> we all agree that president trump's decision to end daca is a despicable act of political cowardice. >> president trump did a tweet last night any tweet this morning, not presidential. >> he does not know right from wrong, true from false, america patriotism from white nationalism. >> i would like to say a few words about donald trump jr. the emails are the end of the idea pushed by the administration in the president that there is absolutely no evidence of intent to coordinate or collude. >> donald trump is a job loser.
10:07 pm
the president fitness for office is something that is being called into question. i s am very worried about his fitness. >> sean: the president as he reiterated many times today, insisting that the border wall be built. which he absolutely should be doing, because it was was a mae campaign promise that he promised.hi there will be severe political consequences for him and the entire republican party. if he does not get funding and get it up front first, i would argue he is never going to get it. let me be clear, if the wall is not constructed, the president risks losing his entire base. it is not a matter of if the base will leave. that is o plain and simple. into that is what democrats want. they want president trump to be isolated so that they can bludgeon him morehi politically. president trump needs to keep pushing for the border wall and the funding, and he promised to you, the american people, over and over again that he would get that filled. for example, remember this.
10:08 pm
>> we are building a wall on the southern border which is absolutely necessary! believe me, we have to close down the government, we are building that wall! we will build a great wall along the southern border! and mexico will pay for the wal wall. build that wall! build that wall! build that wall! they said, the president of mexico said, they will not under any circumstances pay for the wall. they said to mean, what is your comment? i said, the wall just got 10 feet higher! truth. >> sean: here's how we are, the president must insist on the complete border wall funding now, or guess what, i would argue that it is never coming. nobody believes that the wall will be built later. if, in fact, they get the daca deal upow front. it is thero same old washington, d.c., sewer swamp game, democrats love to play
10:09 pm
this. they always promise of spending cuts p in exchange for tax increases. but you never get the spending cuts, and you always get the tax increase. the same goes for immigration. we always get the amnesty, the concession, you never get the reform or the border security that is promised. democrats want to daca, and then amnesty for all illegal immigrants. they do not care about the wall. they never have. never will.bo they do not want to build the wall. the president needs to act with caution here, because the democrats have burned republicans over the decades we too many times with the so-called bipartisan deals. now also, if the wall does not end up being built, president trump will be put in great political danger. let me give you a quick political history lesson to illustrate this point. in 1988, george h.w. bush made this promise during the national convention. >> read my lips.
10:10 pm
>> sean: a very bold promise, and they took him at his word, propelling him to a landslide victory over michael to conk us, once he got into office it was a different story, and a 1991 he signed a bill that massively raisedsi texas on millions of americans, guess what happened? he lost in 1992 to bill clinton. he did not get a second term, and i've been warning about the five big for demand forces working around the clock a to damage and delegitimize donald trump, and they've been doing it from the minute he took office. the deep state has been leaking information that is meant to damage the president and pretty much we have a leak a day. no president can work under those restrictions. it extraordinary difficult when the leaking conversations with prime ministers and presidents and you have the destroy-trump-media. they've been spewing fake news and creating black helicopter tinfoil hat conspiracy theories.
10:11 pm
they have been lying about him for months. and by the way, trying to hurt the president every day. then we have democrats like chuck schumer, nancy pelosi, this bipartisan outreach to me is a charade. why? because for months all the democrats have been doing is resist, obstruct, live. they did not call them a racist repeatedly, and many have called for his impeachment. guess what? they want him to fail. and you have the never-trumpeters, the establishment republicans, they have failed miserably every step of the way so far during the presidency, and sadly they cannot be counted on at this point.un they cannot even get enough votes to repeal and replace obamacare, a promise that they have been making for seven and a half years, and they they want the president to fail, theyai always have, they always will, they hope that he feels so miserably so that they can point their fingers andin say, we were right. i've been warning about the five

forces working daily events president. happening from day one. now we are seeing how republicans are in action and lack of urgency is hurting the president's ability to get his job done. they p want to keep the promises and has done everything that he can on his own without their help, and make no mistakes, the democrats do not want the president to keep the promises. my advice tonight is very simple, the president needs to keep his campaign promises, stick to his agenda. the agenda are things that help the forgotten men and women of the country. create jobs, lower taxes, reform the tax code, repeal replace obamacare. allow the multinational companies tolt repatriate those from overseas. cut regulations, which he has done. renegotiate trade deals, so many jobs with energy. 4% gdp growth. rebuild the military, build the border wall, extreme vetting, defeat isis, originalists on the supreme court, send education back to the states.
10:13 pm
fix the infrastructure. i argue this, the key for the president's ultimate success tonight is in him keeping promises. that's what the american people elected him tond do. if he does that, the economy grows, if jobs are created, if he keeps america strong, everybody wins. and the president and even all those republicans who do not support him, they will benefit politically.l i want to show. you the numbers, 74% of americansam disapprove of congress' job performance. and look at the numbers for congressional leaders. a speaker of the house, paul ryan, well, he has the highest favorable approval rating. that is only at 35%. that's great. chuck schumer, mitch mcconnell, they are in the 20% pretty into the home state of kentucky, mitch mcconnell is at 18%. the lawmakers that want to tell the president what to do, i don't think so. another trap that democrats are trying to set us on taxes. listen to what the president said earlier today.
10:14 pm
>> e so the wealthy americans ae not my priority. my priority are people in the middle class. that's where we are giving the big tax reduction too. it is about the middle class and about jobs. it is about bringing jobs back to the country. bringing the company's back so that companies can get a reduction. >> sean: the president needs to avoid these democrats and their pleas to tax, tax, tax, tax the rich. and again, he needs to deliver the bold reagan-like tax cuts and the reform he promised all of us. take a look. >> we are here to launch the plans to bring back mainstream by reducing the crushing tax burden on ourhe companies and on our workers. we have no choice. we mustu lower our taxes. youst are honest, hardworking, taxpaying, and by the way, you are overtaxed. we will get your taxes down. >> we are getting the biggest tax cut in the history of our country.
10:15 pm
>> i am proposing across-the-board, income tax reduction, especially for middle income americans. this f will lead to millions of new and really good paying jobs. these reforms will offer the biggest tax revolution since the reagan tax reform. >> now the president needs to follow the plan that he has put forward. it reminds me a lot of reagan. you have across-the-board, tax cuts. bracket 7-3, 15% tax rate, that makes american businesses so much more competitive than they are now. allowing the multinational corporations, repatriate the trillions of dollars that they have parked overseas. let them bring and i'm back at a loweras rate. they can invest in american workers. build manufacturing centers for americans that desperately need those jobs. i mentioned energy. energy independence independence is good for security and will create millions of high career jobs.s he has gutted regulations. it will unleash the american

economy. prosperity and growth. presidentgr reagan slashed the p marginal rate from 78% to 20%. in 20 million new jobs, by thee way, that was after the '82 recession. and government revenue in washington, almost double what they had before. it is also a matter of fairness and simple economics. have you ever gotten a job from a poor person? look at the statistics. according to the most recent irs members, m the top 1% pay 39.9%f all federal income tax part of the top 10% pay 70.9% of all personal income tax that goesero washington. that compares, look at the bottom 15%. they paid 2.8% combined. that's about 50. and 35%, they have zero tax liability. now radical left-wing progressive taxation that distributes or redistributes wealth, that has been proven tot

fail again and again. it will never work. this is the first major test that i would argue the trump presidency, and has the potential to make or break it. the president's plan is rock-solid. so the president actually building a wall, following up on the tax plan is so important. that's why the democrats do not wantmp him to succeed. if he does not get those things done, he will do lose his face. that would hurt him and the rest of the republican party that will be in shambles. democrats do not want him to succeed. so if the president wants to negotiate, what he said today about daca, that is fine. the president is great at negotiating. republicans, they pushed him into the arms of nancy pelosi and chuck schumer. they have failed the president at ay very high level. and as a result he has reached out to the democrats. this major campaign promise, i would argue, especially funding in the wall, cutting these taxes, all the tax plans that the president that i just mentioned, that he wants to put in place.
10:18 pm
of those things are nonnegotiable in my opinion. the president wants to negotiate, that is great. what he cannot do is allow the negotiation in way of funding the wall. he has to get the funding and get it first. as president reagan once had, trust and verify when it comes to the president he needs to do that with the republicans and democrats. at the border funding first. and when t we come back, tonight onw "hannity," lou dobbs will weigh in on my opening monologue. then later laura ingraham willpe join us in so much more on the breaking news night tonight on "hannity." ♪ and then you totaled him. you two had been through everything together. two boyfriends, three jobs... you're like nothing can replace brad. then liberty mutual calls... and you break into your happy dance. if you sign up for better car replacement™, we'll pay for a car that's a model year newer
