by the way, keep it here. when we come back, with this channel, "the five" will be right back out to st. louis and give you the latest on north korea as well is what is happening in london. i am brian kilmeade. ms. berly: hello. i'm kimberly guilfoyle with juan williams, jesse watters, jillian turner and greg gutfeld. it's 9:00 in new york city. this is "the five." >> this is the fox news alert. protesters are taking to the streets tonight in st. louis. after a police officer was >> after a police officer was acquitted of murder after shooting a black suspect. he shot anthony lamar smith back in u 2011. joining is now more from st. louis. >> were catching up from the demonstrators right now.
9:01 pm
we got separated from them. this is a small crowd and this is a main crowd. they are motioning and he didn't want that to happen. so that was effectively diffuse diffused. and that's the direction we are headed in. and people using the phrase peaceful protests. and it's just an obstacle in ths road. what happened earlier today,e around 5:00 local time we came up to the police headquarters and a group of the protesters got on top of the police suv. he jumped up and down and broke the windshield. there are some rocks thrown. the bottles thrown were only plastic bottles but the police showed up with the right gear and pepper spray.
9:02 pm
a little conversational and pushing and shoving. police officers hadju minor injuries and 13 people arrested so far in st. louis. that is the situation. i personally observed some weapons and at least one of the weapons a fake ak-47. some of the other weapons i can't tell you if they are real. something that looked like a long rifle. and i could tell a handgun. a semiautomatic handgun. the authenticity of it we really can't verify it. and the demonstrators that we see, a lot of them black lives matter demonstrators. we do see some kids dressed. and the police don't have a lot of intel that national groups are descending at this stage on this particular demonstration. there's a lot of emotion and this going out over the web and

9:05 pm
these aren't natural responses of what happened when people panic. this is how terrorism work. it creates fear in people panic. we need to harden the individuals so they know how to react to things like that. a lot of people call this a failed attempt because no oneed died. everym attack that happens, terrorism learn something from it and adjust their techniques so next time he would be more deadly. this would be a trial run and i think what's necessary, the officials and experts are overwhelmed.d. they need more and they they can't get to paradise if a dog is in the presence when they di die. i learned that today. >> kimberly: monday was the anniversary ofas 9/11.
9:06 pm
and thisn is where we think abot where we are on the war onte terror. as the ones we seen in western europe, since 2001, everything about the terrorist threat has changed. the weighthe united states responded and the battlefield is largely an out in. the face of the terrorist organization, like isis rise and fall, it's much reduced. the thing that remains the same and that were still not getting right is the impact of radical ideology has on large population areas across the world. i think that's an area where the united states despite our incredible military progress is called the global engagement.
9:07 pm
these are the people that are responsible and fighting isis and radical terrorist online. this is where you need to be putting more money time and attention and i don't understand why were not doing that. as long as people are attracted to that ideology, were not solving the. problem. >> thoughts and prayers go out to thele people. and if you wake up in the morning and something happens, at the wrong place at the wrongi time, which now as we seen has become soft targets. that people physical deterrent to this kind of thing. >> jesse: and great britain is our best ally but they have to

9:11 pm
with that in my opinion. and it's one in which you see president trump to shoot at anything that fits his agenda. i don't believe that when it comes the white supremacist on south. that's not solving the problem, trump said this by the way, we have to do better on the internet picking up on what julian was saying. we harden targets but we have to fight the ideology. >> there are two cultural points here. there's a bigger problem than anything that's happened in charlottesville. in the ideology when you'retw talking about is a collision between bitter loners in the western world. use it be that people didn't see how others live.
9:12 pm
our western world is colliding with people who did that. so is not. necessarily isis ideology is just that they hate the west. and you're supposed to as an individual sayet something as yu see something especially when the authorities can't protect you 100% of the time. they stopped a lot of plots but they were able to stop this one. if they can protect you some way you have to protect yourself by saying something when you see something. however there is a cultural blockade here there that deems you islam phobic if you say something when you see something and you might be wrong. if you are wrong, you're screwed. when you're onre a subway or a s and you see something and you go, i want to say something but i don't want to end up on a blog getting ripped apart. so we have to makeo it okay. bu know that i went through
