that the president was going to "slap the right people" and he certainly did when it came to north korea, being very tough on the north korean regime. listen to what the president said. >> the united states has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy north korea. >> the president also had sharp words for iran and the iran nuclear deal, calling out iran is a destabilizing influence in the region, again describing the nuclear deal as one of the worst deals ever negotiated and one iran is taking full advantage of and at the same time taking advantage of the goodwill of the united states. listen here. >> we cannot abide by an agreement if it provides cover for the eventual construction of

diverse countries with different values, different cultures and different dreams not just coexist but work side-by-side on the basis of mutual respect. >> the president didn't stop with calling out iran and north korea, he singled out the maduro regime in venezuela, saying the united states will fight to restore democracy, urging leaders of latin american nations to get on board with that program at a dinner last night. the regime did not like that too much, one of their people calling out the president for what he said. the president also urged the nation and 192 other member nations of nato, excluding iran, venezuela, north korea and others, to undertake reforms of there was a greater sharing of the burden militarily and financially, the president says many people in the united states have made the ultimate sacrifice for many of the member nations of the united nations and that

it's time for the united nations to pick up and do its fair shar share. >> julie: john roberts with the u.n., thank you so much. >> jon: part of president trump's address today emphasized one of his biggest messages from the campaign trai trail, america first. joining us now, a former terror analyst of the treasury department. america first certainly part of his speech but he also castigated iran for its behavior, that must be welcome news to the israeli delegation. >> absolutely, we will hear soon from prime minister benjamin netanyahu, he is expected to echo those remarks and perhaps persuade world leaders to revisit the iran deal. we heard from the french president earlier today as well as some others saying it will be a mistake to tear up the deal but there is i think an effort underway right now to at least

try to revisit elements of this deal to revise it until some of the holds and what the president i think noted was a bad deal for the united states and for its allies. >> jon: it may have been a bad deal but it's in place and it's my understanding that his national security advisor h.r. mcmaster is saying you have to stick with what's been foisted upon us. >> i think there is still a debate and if you listen to what the president said during his united nations speech, he hinted there is going to be a revisiting of this in some way. that's not to say he's going to tear up the deal but i think there are some options short of that in the president is looking into that now ahead of the next recertification period. >> jon: is it realistic to pull out of that deal or amended significantly? >> this is something they've been looking out for quite some time, i know there is a lot of trepidation among the international community of walking away, giving iran an

excuse to go make moves for a nuclear weapon. if we don't take care of some of the gaping holes in the deal, you are going to have a nuclear iran in roughly a decade. it's really about trying to fix those problems that are lingering later on down the line, not to mention the arms embargo which is set to expire, the ban on ballistic missiles is set to expire and mitigating all of the maligned behavior around his engaging in across the middle east, all of these things were left untouched by the nuclear deal. and that's why this is such an urgent matter right now before the united nations and certainly in the white house. >> jon: north korea doesn't have many friends in the world that one of them is around, what's to prevent iran from simply buying the hardware that it needs from north korea which clearly has nuclear capabilities. >> this is one of the great challenges for the international community right now. you are seeing a push from the

white house to crack down on north korea, a lot of discussion right now on how cut off north korea entirely from the financial system, they keep to that as we have identified is china. china is really responsible for something like 83% of north korea's trade. we need to make sure the chinese are on board, that they cut off north korea entirely from the international system. that won't stop illicit networks involved in moving goods and perhaps even weapons back and forth between north korea and iran but i think vigilance and enforcement is what is necessary. i think the president's right to focus primarily on these two regimes, they are the governments that are posing the greatest threat to international security. >> jon: as you were speaking, we had live pictures of the president returning to the u.n.

the president issuing sharp warnings to the rogue nation, urging world leaders to turn up the pressure on kim jong un to give up his nuclear program. >> no nation on earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles. the united states has great strength and patience. if it is forced to defend its self or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy north korea. rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime. >> julie: let's bring in leslie marshall, fox news contributor and syndicated radio host and patrick griffin. patrick, i will start with you. of the president wasted no time laying down the tough talk for north korea in the way president trump does, using words not every president would use by getting the message

across. to his audience today at the u.n., that the u.s. is prepared to annihilate north korea, proving once again he means business when it comes to shutting down pyongyang's defiance. what did you think of his speech? >> there was nothing subtle or ambiguous in his speech, this was a mix of pure populism and something i like to call optimistic realism. neither of those things are seen very often at the united nation united nations. i think the president proved today that he can hit the right tones, understanding both the seriousness and of a threat, not only to the united states but also to civilized nations around the world, the behavior like rogue nations like north korea. the bottom line is, there is no question as to where president trump stands today, i think he showed the ability to deploy both strength and nuance, which is exactly the right tone to hit in front of the general assembly today.

>> julie: rocket man on a suicide mission, not only for himself but for his regime. how do you think foreign leaders receive the president's rhetoric today? >> juvenile. i think calling terrorists losers and calling another leader as much as you despise them rocket man, just look loot the stone-faced diplomats he was facing. this is not a rally, this is not his base and in the beginning i think he saw a bit of discomfort with the president who fortunately did not go off script and embarrass us. i would have to say i agree with senator feinstein who said the u.s. stage is not a place to threaten to wage war. we know the united states means business, the world does. the president is echoing the sentiments of nikki haley. however, at the end of the day he is in a sense insulting some of those in the audience when it comes to north korea, america first, almost talking as if we

are isolationists and forgetting that there are people in that room that are our allies in some of these agreements. it north korea, threatening somebody that's as unstable as the leader of north korea with rocket man, calling terrorists losers, both very unstable, violent individuals, i think it would be very dangerous and that is not the place to do it. >> julie: what say you, let's say he meant those words for russia and china, they are watching this administration very closely and clearly that was a warning for them. you can't play nice with this monster, he tortures his own people, god only knows what he want to do to the rest of the world. kim jong un threatened that he could reach the u.s. territory of guam, how else would you like him to address the nation and address the world leaders and how we deal with somebody posing a direct threat?

diplomacy unfortunately does not work with this guy. >> one of the things, i hate to say i agree with steve bannon on anything but i do agree that this is a problem that has not been able to be solved, it's the kind of threat the president is talking about is not going to solve it. we can discuss guam but the reality is the people that would support the most with any type of conflict or violence or with north korea would be south korea, a key ally also sitting there in that assembly. harsh words are good if it's just you against the world but it's not just the united states with north korea against the world, we need the world on our side and i think he spoke a bit too brash and made a sound too isolationist. of course the united states should be first but the united states is not the only country that would be affected obviously by north korea -- south koreans would be affected

mostly and have the most to lose and the most danger in their path. >> julie: we are watching the united nations, the president is watching emac walking into a luncheon that will be hosted by the secretary general of the united states and we will continue to watch that. rex tillerson also expected to attend. while we watch this developing live, the presidents tough warnings inevitably will be falling on deaf ears. kim jong un will probably be empowered by his tough message and launch more missiles anyway. in a speech he does praise russia and china for signing onto that resolution recently, he says more needs to be done. what do you think china and russia took away from the president's speech today? president trump is entering the room now, we have nikki haley following right behind him. leslie just mentioned, this is not war rhetoric, you don't normally hear warmongering being smoking at the united nations.

this is a place of diplomacy but nikki haley herself, a u.n. ambassador has basically said that war is not off the table and that military strategy is in the works if pyongyang continues to defy the rest of the world. patrick, i will let you pick it up from there. >> if you look at the poker faces in that room today, some of those countries did not like what they heard coming from the president and that was by design. if we are going to go back to the globalism we were faced with that with the last administration, look where that got us. i agree that the united nations is supposed to be a place for diplomacy. we have tried diplomacy again and again. we are kind of out of options on the diplomatic front. one thing the president did was try to be donald trump, who he is.

democrats continue to be aghast by trump, they can't imagine his rhetoric. the bottom line is, that's who he is. combined with a firm and clear indication that the united states will not be put in a position where it's people or its allies or civilized nations of the world would be endangered by people like kim jong un. he is a bad guy and it's very much time, letting him know we are not going to take the stuff. >> julie: the very first time the president addresses the united nations general assembly, we get word that the united states is actually considering taking preemptive strikes in order to defend us and defend us from north korea and their constant missile launchers, in other words shooting these missiles, each time they go to try to shoot one

in the air, whether it's directed at the u.s., at south korea, japan, it doesn't matter. the fact is, every time he shoots off a missile view showing the rest of the world he will continue to do this and eventually he will get a nuclear warhead on one of these things and don't you try to stop me because san francisco, you are next. this is the type of talk that needs to happen from the white house and clearly the past administration did not lay down the line, that is why we are still in this mess. >> first of all, talking and threatening i just do not feel are going to help. you are going to have some measure of diplomacy. we are not going to wipe north korea and all of those innocent men, women, and children who were brainwashed by this leader and don't know what's going on with the outside world and don't know how wonderful the united states is and some of our other allies

worldwide, this is only, this could just provoke the type of individual that kim jong un is and that is definitely a concern. i think not just for the people of south korea but the people of north korea who will be sent by this man madman to their death without knowing the cause and effect of what will happen with such. this is not an individual to me that you provoke. i think the words were very provocative that the president had today. also i'm very surprised, when you hear leaders, mattis has said it himself in the past, and war with north korea is not a good idea. 100% diplomacy is not going to work but there has to be some middle ground. administrations both left and right, the past four

presidencies have not been able to find the balance to tame the beast. this guy is much like his father and it continues on. >> julie: it's unfortunate and nobody -- let's be clear, nobody would want to see a repeat of the korean war. i think the idea of course is diplomacy. but patrick, president trump's threat to totally destroy north korea, that's extraordinary even coming from president trump. >> that's very tough language, very tough talk. thank one of the things that's important here is that the president has to projects that the united states realizes how high the stakes are. and that the united states of america must be in a position if it is pushed to do so to either respond or be prepared and let them know that we are ready to do this. we can't continue to go off of

the speech in front of the general assembly was blunt and direct as you just heard. he was not the only world leader dealing with global threats. iranian nuclear deal was front and center, israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu listened, it was a very symbolic and important message that he was there during the president's speech. the president criticized the iranian nuclear deal, basically saying potentially that it could be decertified coming up at some point next month. the concern is what happens after ten years when the restrictions end. the president also directly address the people of iran as opposed to the regime, calling it a murderous, economically depleted world regime and suggesting that the nuclear deal may be scrapped. >> it is time for the entire world to join us in demanding that iran's government and its pursuit of death and destruction. it is time for the regime to free all americans and citizens

of other nations that they have unjustly detained. >> prime minister netanyahu saying that in his 30 years in the u.n. he has never seen more thoughtful thoughtful speech. other world leaders spoke about the threat of terrorism, he supports the iranian nuclear deal and says it would be a mistake to abandon it. >> renouncing it would be a grave error. it would be irresponsible for us to fail to uphold that. >> the venezuelan prime minister had sharp words for

president trump, he said the president came here not to talk about peace but war. saying it is a "sad day for the world." tomorrow is when the iranian president will take that podium and address the general assembl assembly. >> jon: as we just mentioned, another big focus of president trump's u.n. speech, north korea. mr. trump vowing to "totally destroy" that rogue regime if pyongyang refuses to back down from its nuclear threats. the president even walking kim jong un as "rocket man." all as the delegation walked wad from front row seats. >> it is a little bit too late here in south korea for most people to watch that speech

giant suffered a smaller, unrelated breach back in march. investigators are also looking into three senior executive selling company stock. equifax is said to have no knowledge at the time. let's start with you, put on your prosecutor's hat. these three guys are in a position to have known about the hack, top executives of the company and they happen to sell almost $1.8 million of company shares jointly after that first hack was announced -- after it was discoverable before it came public knowledge. does that sound like white collar crime to you? >> it sounds like a big problem in terms of investigation. the timeline is very solid here. there hack began, they found out

about it in july, to go weeks after they found out about it but did not make it public, they sell massive amounts of stock and then make it public about a month and a half after that. it is next to impossible for any prosecutor to believe. >> jon: since that time the stock's value has dropped something like 35%. >> it was a very timely sale. a fairy godmother told me to sell my stock but i did not know about the breach. which i don't believe. what's going to happen in this case, they are going to look at the timeline. the timeline to me is a case for insider trading. they weren't some lowly clerks who did not know about the breach, they were high-level executives in a breach of over

100 million data breaches, 100 million parts of information, they have to know there's no way they did not kno know. >> jon: one of the things that could potentially come up in their defense, i want to ask you about this. the supposition now was this was a state actor who hacked into them, into these accounts. a russia, north korea, china, iran. could they say it looks, we are of little credit reporting company, we can't take on the russians. >> the computer company told them they did nothing to eradicate that which led to the larger reach. the fact was, they didn't do anything about it, sold stock, and lead to multiple lawsuits during that entire period of time. what were they thinking, all these people's credit could potentially be affected, which

could take them years to resolv resolve. >> jon: 143 million accounts, that is staggering in its size and potential impact. >> this is going to be one of the largest class action lawsuits in history because it impacted so many people and they are going to face civil penalties and possible criminal penalties because i don't see how they could get around this one. >> jon: these are not customers of the agency. these are people, they didn't sign on with equifax, maybe they took out a car loan or a home loan and equifax has her information. >> it wasn't something they voluntarily gave them, it wasn't like you are neighborhood sporting goods store, they have everyone's information, stored whether it is you are knowledge that they have it or not. here's the problem with these companies. they should have done brand damage control from the beginning, i don't get it. get out in front of it, advise

it happens. we will ask bret baier what he thinks about the president address at the top of the hour. see you then. >> julie: now to the monster storm in the caribbean brewing to go weeks hurricane irma, hurricane maria heading for the caribbean, the category 5 storm unleashing devastation on the small islands. this thing was a category 4, it went up to a 5. it is strengthening, certainly not looking good for the areas in its path. >> it's looking like a huge storm, wins 160 miles an hour, gusting up to 195 miles an hour. there is your center of circulation, we've got some u.s. islands coming up around the corner that are going to be hit tonight into tomorrow. we are beginning to see some of

these outer bands through the u.s. virgin islands stretching back over to puerto rico. the system continues to inch closer and closer. everything here in the red is your hurricane watch and warning at this point, these will continue to fire up but pretty much all of these islands looking at at least some sort of hit at some point, maybe even a direct hit. currently a category 5 storm as it moves into the puerto rico area, perhaps falling down to a category 4. by tomorrow morning we are looking at the storm running right over the island, bringing incredibly powerful winds, heavy rain and even some storm surge, it is going to be catastrophic. folks in the florida keys or florida, you do see it takes a similar path to irma but it does turn up to the east of the bahamas so we are looking at this turning and avoiding florida. the islands are really going to be getting it, everything in that area, those are hurricane force winds.
