griff: i have said that i am fascinated to see whether or not the networks go politically correct in choose not to show this moment for the game. it's an interesting, there were paid attention to before the players even take the field. let me throw one new thought out there and that is this. has the president not used such strong language using the slb, would he have garnered the reaction that we have had from all of these players. it has gone to the nba and got to the major leagues and in fact, we had bruce maxwell kneeling near home plate. pete: it the most strong reaction but he made the call and these are owners have an opportunity to say you're fired if you won't stamp writing.

they know how serious it is to stand by our flag because they fight for it every single day. you've also been out on the streets with protesters. oftentimes you ask what they are protesting for and what is this going to lead to and a lot of people are asking right now we see these players kneel down on that field. what are you protesting patrick what are you so angry about what do you want this to lead to? we had kevin jackson ceo on the show and we asked what the president being attacked for standing up for his feelings on this and this is his reaction. >> we have a president who is standing up to the flag in america and we have left this attacking him. we have young black kids got an opportunity to do something that people would dream to do and they would happily stand with their hands over their hard to celebrate a nation that would allow that in the suddenly the president is the bad guy in the sport of the bad guy in the white guys who higher these

it. griff: the president was training that rand paul will come along and what could the white house offer and what would rand paul be attracted to to change his vote and is that even a reality? >> i think it's awfully hard. paul has made it very clear what he wants and you have to give him the courage of his convictions. he wants to repeal obamacare. one of the things of the graham cassidy bill does is it keeps all of the obamacare taxes and basically says two states we will give you the money from the obamacare taxes and you can do with it as you want. so far at least, that has been a nonstarter for rand paul and we will see if it will be a change that can get him back on board. pete: in preview, of your program today who else is on your show? >> we have an extensive interview with bill gates. the cofounder of microsoft and for the purposes of this interview the head of the gates foundation, i did notice, but the gates foundation is the largest private charitable fund in the world that has given out $40 billion since it started in the year 2000 to more than 100

pete: fairfax a fox news alert. present top stepping up efforts to help in puerto rico just days after historic category four hurricane slammed the island. abby: federal aid to bring in for victims of hurricane maria, 23000, and dozens of generators. griff: geraldo rivero is a live taking a closer look at the devastation. geraldo, what you see? >> we flew overnight with the georgia air international guard. the georgia guard is coordinating all the relief. first of all, behind me is the big san juan airport that you are used to seeing this facility which is a hub for the entire

caribbean bustling with hundreds of flights every day. there are absolutely no commercial flights whatsoever and it is just military and some relief flights coming in. what i see personally on the ride from the airport here to the resection which is close to the airport if the buildings that have had their façades shredded by the storm, broken palm trees and almost no traffic on the street. gasoline is in urgent need here, the islanders are lining up for-six hours with a 40-dollar maximum and i see with my own family they have stocked up on food and fuel and water but they are running out. even the most prudent families need resupply. what happens here is totally a function of the relief effort from outside.

puerto rico is stricken. the island of 3.4 million people from one side to the other from top to bottom is in dire need. before we left the game on a cargo aircraft because there are no private airplanes and i spoke to the commander of the georgia air national guard and general jeff simmons is the man in charge of coordinating the enormous relief efforts that really is just now getting mounted here is general sense. >> this is what we do. we have trained for it and unfortunately for us we are getting variance but they have to have some help down there and were happy to provide it and that is our job to provide. we are just getting started. from the water and the mras and personnel that we just had a group from fema go down for search and rescue this will go on for quite a while. >> untrained.

reporter: that's major general jesse simmons, the commander of the georgia air national guard. you mentioned in the space leading up to my segment that i have a deep personal reasons for wanting to be here. it is difficult getting here and honestly the military is the only way and but my dad, the late is rivera one of 17 children and i have scores of first cousins here. many of whom we have been unable to contact. some have said they are doing okay and others we have not heard from at all. we are going to for the island and will check on some of these relatives and see how they are faring and share with them some of the supplies that we have bought in. this is a storm stricken island and i don't know when or rico can recover but this tourist mecca right now is a ghost town with people huddling in their

homes or their apartments. the concrete building did okay but some of the back village areas are still in peril of floods. no electricity obviously and will be months and months. can you imagine a big civilization, three and a half million people, with no power, no water, sanitation system is broken and screwed up. it is a dire need that i can't emphasize enough. pete: worst-case scenario down there. abby: i geraldo i know there is a delay but noted thoughts and prayers are with everyone in puerto rico in your family. we hope everyone gets out of this thing safe and sound. great to have you. thanks so much. pete: everyone is talking about present top calling out national anthem protesters in alabama on friday. so, griff stopped outside a sports bar and scare to see what americans thought about what he said. take a look. >> wouldn't you love to see one of these nfl owners when someone disrespects our flag to say get that son of a [bleep] off the field right now.
