oh, yeah. you know, we started our residency at the venetian just three days after the tragic events. and we debated about whether or not we are going to start the residency that friday night. we quickly came to the decision that there was no way in the world we were going to let evil win. [applause] the first night of the residency was sold out. it was sold out because those people that showed up, decided we were going the make a statement to the world that we were going to stand side by side and arm in arm and back to back and make a statement to the world that when we, when we come up against the face of evil the way we did that night, we will show the world that america will always win. and we will always persevere.

i've ever did. a guy at the concert here, he was married 32 years and he was holding his wife of 32 years, he was holding her hand and she died in his arms during that concert. that's evil in our time. i met a girl who had chemotherapy and thank god she's okay, she's with us tonight. a stranger helped her to safety. then i remember after 9/11, i was watching david letterman and david letterman had new york city mayor rudy giuliani on his show. and david letterman says can we laugh again? and rudy giuliani says that's what we do, we live. i want to say in closing tonight, there was a counter in new york city and there was a

[laughs] cassidy and kelly, her mom. you just finished cancer treatment. we were running away and we can from all the chemotherapy. you were running away and you were weekend from all the chemotherapy. i'm glad to be here tonight? >> i am. >> sean: you are proud of, right? >> are you drinking jack daniels

tonight? >> i'm trying. >> sean: how are you doing? that's pretty hard to go through something like that, right? we also had this guy right here, officer cook with on the job two days in vegas. and you got shot. >> i did. >> sean: and you saved him. this is so hard. what does this night mean to you? >> a lot. it shows support and unity which is what i've been looking for the whole time, right? positivity to the city. there's a lot of pain right now but in reality, there is a heck of a lot good people down there is bad. one person tried to hurt us but hundreds of thousands came together for good. >> sean: everyone asks me, did you stay for the president or first lady? >> i don't want to disrespect trump but... >> sean: they are both trump's. your prognosis is good?
