let's get serious and talking about robert mueller. they dropped this bomb. the timing of it first, i want to start there before we get into details. you have a week last week where all of a sudden, david, the pendulum seems to be swinging. and you know hillary clinton better than anyone. and all of a sudden uranium one is front and center again, this dirty dossier is front and center, and how does the weekend after all the heat is on democrats, it ends with a friday night shocker that robert mueller is gonna start, you know indicting people. >> you know, it's part of the problem of washington. look. it's one of the reasons that the republicans and the trump white house has distrusted this special counsel, because they claimed that they were hiring all these political appointees underneath mueller. and so you see something like friday night, and it makes you think that even more, that this is a politically operation. they say this is an indictment

resignation." should bob mueller resign? >> that makes some strong points points. this new investigation, the uranium one-clinton investigation absolute cannot go under the mueller -- the current mueller team. those conflicts are, you know, incredibly strong. mueller was the f.b.i. director when all of this was going on when it seems the department of justice swept this under the rug in 2009, 2010. so it cannot be conducted under his investigation. and i would suggest that the attorney general who is an incredibly law-and-order attorney general, look at this and head it up himself, or put another special counsel in. because the subordinates of his within the department of are also, you know, conflicted out of this. and that's just when you have the f.b.i., one of the major bodies underneath the d.o.j. and

walk through quickly who you think are the key ones. >> we have some top tier candidates here. it's crazy that we're talking about 2020 already, but we are. elizabeth warren, bernie sanders joe biden, those are your top tier. if they run, very good chance they could get nomination. then we have second-tier candidates like kamala harris, who many people are saying if she runs she could get the nomination. we heard that a couple of weeks ago and also people like terry mcauliffe who is term limit out of the governorship who knows what he's gonna do. ed: big clinton ally. >> big clinton ally. and cory booker the senator from new jersey, very, very popular, up-and-coming young senator. ed: let's move it forward. they're already out in some big states. let's first talk about the states they're not going to and why you think it's significant. >> they're not going to the traditional states: new hampshire, iowa, south carolina, nevada. ed: why? >> number one they don't want to be seen on the radar screen. because the minute you're there in front you are the target.

we've seen people like joe biden out there in those states but otherwise they're staying quiet. and they're visiting states that aren't gonna attract as many attention but where they could build support among the local community with local officials and really get the support they need. ed: like the states that hillary clinton avoided, didn't go to, had trouble, and donald trump flipped. so let's go to those. you have places like pennsylvania, obviously, ohio, michigan, this midwestern part here seems significant. we'll get to florida in a second second. these rust belt states are significant. >> incredibly popularity. these were the states everybody said if a republican is gonna win they have to win the rust belt and that's what donald trump did. to many people's surprise. and now this is where we see and of course is you mentioned clinton avoided them not even visiting them in the late days of the campaign, much to the dismay of democrats. now democrats are out there. they're going to these states. they want to show the democratic party and local officials number one that they care be, number two that they have a chance of

turning these around. again they want to do it under the radar so the president doesn't start taking them on or other democrats. ed: they say the math won't work for donald trump, but he flipped those states. florida always critical, but when you come down here in the south, when i talk to a lot of trump insiders they say on election night the moment when they thought, you know what, we can actually do this was when florida flipped. >> since 2000 "florida is it" and of course ohio and michigan as well. when florida flipped on election night i think that's when many republicans said wow, this really could happen, and they were absolutely right. it was that and the rust belt states that went his way. he had and he won by a huge margin. ed: regardless of who the president faces for reelection, if he can hold those three big ones, the math will this time instead, it seems, be harder for democrats? >> be harder for democrats. it's a tough map for democrats. and we have to remember, we talk so much -- and i'm a pollster. we talk so much about national polls. this is not about national polls polls. this is about state-by-state polls -- florida, ohio, michigan

losing knowledge of god and faith. joining us to tell us what his organization is doing to combat this trend is director of r. c. college pastor mike shepherd. thanks for joining us this morning. that's a number that would surprise a lot of people, and what is the reason this trend is happening amongst younger people people? >> yeah. and it's not news anymore. it's old news that seemingly no young adult possesses a biblical understandings of who god is. somewhere around 6% of adults have what we call a biblical worldview, which is interesting because 90% of americans still believe that god exists, so the question, why don't they do that that? i think it's two part. one, they have not been taught faithfully by the older generations and neither have the older generations lived faithful faithful. so downturning christians don't know what christianity is, much less why it's true, and they've not seen from an older generation an authentic lifestyle. i mean, what's the good that is coming from comment, and then the cultural tact that exists

reinforces that christianity is irrational and it's immoral and young adults can't see otherwise 'cause they don't know god exists, why they should believe that and they've not seen a pure form of christianity live out amongst their parents and grandparents and the broader adult christian community. abby: you only have 27% i think according to research that actually go to services. i'm a millennial. i think about what religion a lot of my friends exist with or what religion they belong to. and it's their iphones oftentimes. i mean, people sit on their technology all day long, you could argue that maybe that's a way to connect with the religious community, but in a lot of ways you're disconnected from it at all. >> yeah, one of the things -- technology is great, but one of the things the smartphone has done is it's isolated us. and one of the things we find with the younger generations is an epidemic of loneliness. and so certainly through the smartphone and all of its promises and social media connectivity, what it's actually done, it's broken that down, and we've actually seen that in the

church. you're exactly right. fewer and fewer people come to church, but, again, it's because when they do go, they're not finding anything of substance. the younger generations, the millennials, are passionate people. it they can any of out b.s. a mile away and so when they come to church, they want to be taught, why does this matter, how do i know that god exists and what does that mean to me and 34% commuter? and by and large when they go to church they don't get that they get moralistic theeistic deism. pete: what are our founders thoughts on this? believing in something greater than yourself. what are the consequences we see in our society when we have less people who believe in something greater than themselves? >> well, you certainly can see that, for a free society to flourish, there has to be a moral undergirding. moreover, there has to be a belief that truth exists. because if there isn't absolute

and there is not something that is objective outside of us that we can all discover, all that's left is power. if truth is up for grabs, so to speak, that we can make it be whatever we want it to be, then the person who has the most power is the one that conforms society to their own wishes. and so when our founders recognized that there was an objective part of reality, that there is something like objective truth and endowed rights that we all have, that provides the pathways for a free and civil society where we can freely disagree, discuss ideas, but it be done with respect, gentleness and even a common good in mind. abby: and teaching you some self selfless, as somebody said believing in something bigger and better than yourself. pastor mike sherrard, thank you for being us. pete: it's the religion of big government, power rather than an internal compass. abby: religion is not the only problem for millennials. they are ruining halloween, .oo pete: man. and president trump slamming michael moore's play as a total

kevin brady, we have had over 40 public hearings where all the members of ways and means have listened to the american people whether it be at the corporate level or individual level to get from them what is the most important thing in tax reform. the president has said very clearly, tax cuts, the largest tax cuts in american history over the last 30 years we're attempting to make sure that americans have more take-home pay and we can compete globally in a very competitive market. so what could possibly be wrong with that? so i would just say to all those folks that are trashing it, hey, wait 'til you hear the details before you start throwing it under the bus. ed: our viewers want to know the details. a lot of people who voted for trump are wondering where's the tax cut, and the president has said, "look. the goal is by the end of the year." and we keep hearing, well, this may slip to february, march of next year. is that acceptable to you as a member of the ways and means committee, or are you still promising the american people this is gonna get done by the end of the year? >> here's what i will promise the american people: the ways and means committee is gonna be

rolling out tax cuts, the largest tax cuts in our history coming up very soon, we'll be talking about it this week and the week after, we will get something through the house of representatives that makes sense to the american people. where it goes from there depends on where the senate comes in and then the white house of course will have the final say. but i have so much faith in president trump and making sure that middle income and lower income people look at this tax plan and say "you know what? i have more money in my pocket today than i had before." we keep american jobs here in america and we grow the economy. the answer to everything is a dynamic and robust economy that takes care of the all of our american citizens and makes sure we can compete all over the world with these jobs. abby: do you think you'll get any democrats on board with this in the end? >> you know what, honestly, abby in the environment we're in now i think the whole deal is to try and make the other side look bad rather than what makes it look good for the american people. i think if we can pivot to that, both sides of the aisle, by the way, stop criticizing each other and do what's right for the american people, that's a win. that's a win for every single
