>> martha: "the story returns" and tomorrow night we will be here with the present life. and as he tours the uss arizona, we will see you tomorrow night. >> tucker: good evening and welcome to tucker carlson tonight. it's the deadliest one-man massacre of history but already forgotten. he shot and killed 58 people in las vegas. for weeks we've been asked basic questions which most of gone unanswered. and how we possibly allowed his house to be burgled and why it took so long for us to learn his computer hard drive was missing. and traveling to mexico days after the shooting despite being a key witness and why
5:01 pm
authorities refused to talk about that. why subsequent appearances have been so closely managed by his employer and gm. and what was the actual timeline of the shooting, what happened and when did it happen and why is it hard to get a straight answer about that. with these long-standing questions we can add a few more snide, why did we only learned today from the clark county sheriff that his girlfriend could be withholding important information on the case. why isn't she being interviewed right now. and a police officer actually fired his gun in the hotel suite on the night of the shooting. what exactly were the circumstances of the firing? it's not that were trying to push a conspiracy theory but more likely vaccination is incompetence. the people running this case
5:02 pm
don't know what they're doing. and it's coming hard not to conclude something like that especially when you consider the case in a much larger context. it's not the only case that has shifted public confidence. the fbi had omar under investigation for ten months but they were unable to do anything about the pulse nightclub massacre. fort hood shooter and the boston bombers were lists of other terrorists that were unable to stop their attacks. and for some reason the bureau gave community for several top aides for no obvious reason. why is that? the fbi never examined the dnc email server after it was hacke
5:03 pm
hacked. instead they accepted the claim of a private contractor about the work of the russian government. why didn't the bureau's many tech teams investigate matters of importance. in the fbi white-collar division has leaked since the details to the press. how does behavior like that restore public confidence in the federal law enforcement, it doesn't and it shouldn't. we have a right to be worried about the fbi. there is no more powerful agency in the country. they can reach her email, bank records, break down your door and arrest you to your children. we need to be absolutely certain the fbi is worthy of the power we give them. what's happening in las vegas right now is one of many reasons to see if they are. representing victims of the
5:04 pm
vegas attack, things are coming on. i think you've been to the scene of the crime and did anything useful quarter that? >> several things, we do know the fbi has taken all of the bullet marks and holes and bullets. all of our clients are telling us on the night of the shooting there is nowhere to go. we can see there's exits on the plans and maps. and you can see most of the exits were blocked and behind fences. and there was only two places to escape. that is very concerning especially when people got hit and killed 10 minutes after the shooting started. >> tucker: is there any indication that the fbi had knowledge of stephen paddock?
5:05 pm
>> not yet because we don't have any papers about him really. i don't know why that is. i do think after 30 days we should have more information than we have right now. we know bits and pieces and that he arrived with ten bags. and two bellmen helped him carry those bags up. in those ten bags had guns in them. ammunition and mgm has a see something say something policy. are you saying nobody saw those guns over five date. nobody saw them setting up security cameras, these are all things that need to be answered and you're asking the same questions and so are we.
5:06 pm
>> tucker: how to get access to the service elevator person marc siegel he asked to use it d since he was a vip he was allowed to have access to the service elevator. either way is concerning. how does a bellmen hall up ten bags with heavy long rifles in them with 5,000 rounds of ammunition. and they have a corporate watch center that teaches them to see something say something and nobody said anything. i think the 27 high-powered rifles ought to semis interest. those are the questions we want answered.
5:07 pm
we have not spoken with jesus. >> tucker: and is our impression that mgm is kept pretty tight lipped about the management. >> may be that it won't stick with the mgm story. what he will be examined under oath by attorneys. it will be important to know timeline from what he said and the other two. and we know they were police officers on the floor with him prior to the shooting. those are all questions that have to be answered. >> tucker: police officers or mgm security guards? >> as of yesterday, there were two other police officers on the
5:08 pm
floor prior to the shooting. that's part of the ever-changing timeline. >> tucker: mgm employees acting as security? >> is a report yesterday that there were two off-duty officers on the floor that responded prior to the shooting beginning. >> tucker: this is getting more confusing, thank you. and a former nypd officer, and marine specialist officer. both join us. you've seen a lot of shootings, what jumps out at you about the facts of this one? >> it's when oswald shot kennedy, we got that figured out.
5:09 pm
anytime bullets start flying you will be confusing. there are some things that jump out and conspiracy theorists are doing their work. paddock pulled up these weapons. how many times golf clubs go inside that hotel, those employees are the bottom of the pay scale. do you think they are risking their job against a whale making a lot of money. there's human elements that need to be counted for also. cody have made repeated runs upstairs with personal cards, of course. what seems to be very obvious at times. and there's a lot of talk about security cameras. security cameras on his floor weren't present. were they not installed or removed? he couldn't remove them because
5:10 pm
that would be an issue with security. so they probably never were installed. >> tucker: since you work for both nypd and federal agency, is it obvious to you watching who's in charge and wise and their essential narrative coming out? >> based on who is controlling the evidence, the fbi, it seems the bureau is directing us. i like to open with this, i think you made a good point, what other time in american history with the confidence of law enforcement, failure of clinton investigation, this is not the time to keep a lid on one of the largest mass murderers in american history. if you have information, you
5:11 pm
have to get out there. you have this horrifying tragedy in new york. we arty have the motive and suspect in general idea of what happened. how would this case we still have no idea or if they do, at least haven't told the american people. the american people's were the victims in this. >> tucker: i agree completely. we learned today that firearms discharged accidentally somehow. do firearms actually discharge? >> tucker: the term is negligent discharge. a it takes big stones to go into an active firing. it was an explosive breach when they went in.
5:12 pm
and it might've happened on a reupholstering. the officer could have alerted on. people make mistakes. it is easy to be critical after one of these. >> tucker: why wouldn't there be conspiracy theorists? and the police still probing the deadly attack in manhattan where eight people were murdered. fox news correspondent joins us on the latest on that. >> if i may, just briefly, to big lawsuits were filed last night. they're all suing for body cam, search warrants and evidence logs. to find out what happened.
5:13 pm
if i may very briefly, the person or entity with the biggest motive to fudge with the timeline is mgm. if 6 minutes passed before being shot and opening fire on the crowd, that's a big amount of time before 91 was called. if paddock shot and opened fired on the crowd, it will be negligence on mgm. if the time is 6 minutes, mgm has a motive to shorten the timeline. >> tucker: lawyers should not be in control of any information coming out of a case like this. it's appalling because of how
5:14 pm
much influence they have. >> and they have the best lawyers on this and their job is to minimize the tort liabilitie liabilities. there's hundreds of millions of dollars on the people killed or injured. there is wrongful death and emotional and physical wounds, its enormous liability if they are found negligent. in terms of new york and what happened with the mowing down of eight people, the big question is why didn't we have a red flag about this guy in the mosque in paterson, new jersey. when i came to work at fox news was to go to new jersey in the wake of 9/11 and go to the mosques and find out why the

5:16 pm
there's a ton of propaganda out there. it is too important to jumped on without having all the facts. we will talk with the treasury secretary and what we find. and will be here in a second to tell us about we know. and we will tell you apart about more news coming out. tasting cup of coffee. green mountain coffee roasters. when this guy got a flat tire in the middle of the night.

heard of the uranium one deal that gave russia control over a huge swath of uranium. it didn't allow uranium to be exported from this country. >> uranium doesn't leave the united states without getting an export license. >> they have no export license and that's the whole point. >> i haven't heard anyone say you made it anywhere. >> it's not like they can do whatever they want with it. >> tucker: actually they can and they did. a new report revealed what they did for a while. they approved the export of uranium with some of it traveling to canada, and europe.
5:21 pm
if you're concerned about russian interference in the business of united states and you think they are a rival or enemy which we are at war, you have to be pretty concerned that a russian company has exported american uranium without a license outside her borders. >> there's a report about that and we should look into it. >> tucker: it's been looked into and confirmed by "the new york times" a couple years ago and no one involved denies it. here's what we know, in 2012 authorized an amendment from a kentucky based trucking firm that moved yellowcake uranium to leave the country, are you concerned about that is a mark?

why would you allow a rival to remove uranium off the continen continent? >> i think it may have said that some may have gone to europe. that's fair and that's final. i'm concerned and let's find out. >> tucker: it's obvious how unconcerned you are. and i said you would have known about this story a longtime ago as i did for anybody that cares. if you are worried as russian appearance which you said you are, why wouldn't you be honest who determined who allowed this and why?
