thanks for joining us. good thing, bad thing? were you surprised it passed overwhelmingly? >> not surprised it passed overwhelmingly, the house is more vulnerable to take over in the next election than the senate and my feeling as i wrote in the washington times if they don't deliver they are out of business, they will go the way of new jersey and be replaced by democrats. moon jae-in four tax brackets, personal exemptions, standard deduction double, child tax credit expanded, all of these things you and i discussed, not a huge surprise with any of that. >> lower taxes, with high state

local taxes, in illinois and california. some of those people with large mortgages and high property taxes may see their tax plan go up a little bit. financing, what comes down to legal corruption in new york, more layers of government -- the library board, all of seventh grade to learn who these people were. heather: let's look at the different between the house and senate bill. this tax bracket, the house down four brackets when it has 7 and the corporate tax, 20%, the senate lowered to 20%, but not until 2019 and the individual mandate, no repeal included but the senate

repeals, 6 years, double the exemption so that compensates for it. >> the two bills can be compromised. maybe have it next year. the real problem, i feel is with the healthcare mandate and whether they can get collins to go along. my view is a lot of the compromises that have to be made over property taxes and the healthcare mandate are going to get 50 votes in the senate so what emerges from the senate will be more mergedable with the house. this is the ordinary way of doing business, there are always difference between the 2 chambers bills. heather: how do you get them to

agree to repealing obamacare, the individual mandate where they would not before? >> you have to ask sue collins if she would be willing to do that. heather: it is time to reason with her. giving people a choice. the joint committee on taxation said people taxes will go up, no they are not. not to buy obamacare on the exchange, that is their choice. i don't see what is wrong with giving american choices, and the whole premise of obamacare was is hidden tax, putting guns to people's head, something too expensive to subsidize others. my feeling is the healthcare system has to be reformed and not repealing the mandate put that off. heather: what is wrong with giving people a choice? >> that is what america is about, choice. it is un-american to oppose

plowed down by this -- was referred to as major soft target. apparently authorities were aware of it but had not done anything yet. so do you think that they could have done anything? >> well, of course, after every kind of attack like this you need an investigation, lessons learned, what could we do differently for the future, i would hesitate to be too critical, we need to have a bit of caution. this is new york, a city of millions of people, if the terrorist in this case had been blocked off from one route, one bike route, he would have found another, he would have found a new softer target. of course, we need to be aware of this, take precautions where necessary, we also need to say this is an ideology that's inspiring the people to carry out these attacks, how do we get to the root of defeating ideology rather than closing every single bike path. heather: when you talk about

organized the white rally in charlottesville and i think there's a lot of concern that that check mark is twitter being verifying or supporting white supremacy, now twitter has distanced themselves from that position, that check mark is not a thing that we support or check or does or authenticating this is a real person, a person of interest that the public could have known. heather: here is what twitter has to say about it. we are conducting an initial review of verification accounts whose behavior does not fall within new guidelines, we will continue to review and take action as we work towards a new program that we are proud of. and patrice, i know you had the issue as well, it's ironic, will be interesting to see as they move towards this policy who they choose to do this to and who they choose who not to.

>> they removed check marks from a couple of people on the alt-right, so to speak, and they've actually even deactivated the account of white supremacists. the question is how would they treat those on the far left, those who have antifa accounts, what the difference is they are going to start taking into account offline activities or off-twitter activities, if you're somebody who is saying inciting violence or engaging in behavior that's inconsistent in another space, you can lose that verification. doesn't mean you'll lose twitter account but endorsement. whether they like it or not, that's a little bit dangerous, who is deciding at twitter who is doing the vetting and are they biased. heather: absolutely. you mentioned here, you had people harass you online. i know i've had -- i'm sure you can do a search of twitter and see it where people they just say horrible things.
