75 preliminary investigations, all of this is anonymous by the way. zero consequences. not a single senator censured at all for any of these over a decade. so of course he wants to go to the ethics committee. the safest space he can go to. ed: hillary clinton saying he will be held accountable there. pete: 614th one maybe it will nail it. ed: other democrats are saying wait a second al franken must push down. guess who they are pushing for next senator from minnesota. they're talking about keith ellison, the first muslim in the house would be the first muslim senator. remember, he was blocked from becoming the dnc chairman just, you know, several months ago because democrats, not republicans, but democrats were saying some of his black nationalist views, a paper he wrote in college sort of praising louis farrakhan were not -- that's not what they wanted. pete: little too friendly to the muslim brotherhood.

took the clinton's endorsements and campaign money and all that now all of a sudden she wants to run for president in 2020 and wants to run from the clintons. you used to go have to kiss the ring of the clintons if you wanted to run for president as a democrat. if you pile on gillibrand saying you know what? he should have resigned, not being afraid of them anymore on top of done that brazil and her book you rigid the dnc against bernie sanders. it shows the dnc going down. rachel: in the old testament they used to have this idea of sacrificial lamb and put all your sins and get absolution. clintons are sacrificial lamb all the sins for the democratic party for the last however many years they are putting on the clintons who definitely have their hands on this. they are hoping they can get that absolution to turn that page and get a new start. they don't like being in that hot seat. pete: the rest of the party wants to turn the page so hard and they are like no, keep th the book open.

coffin? are they turning the page on them and exit off the stage and make room for other rising stars, really? >> i absolutely agree with you. i think it is time. hopefully the democrats shut the page on hillary clinton. and bill clinton. i don't think hillary clinton is perhaps going to want to let go of that. she might fight for it. but, look, everything come out now. people revisiting this. huffington post article about bill clinton. it does not look good. hillary clinton, i doubt, is going to say much of anything about these new sentiments resurfacing about her husband. but, yes, i think absolutely the dynasty, the era of the clintons is over. rachel: i was going to say with jill brand coming out first, does that put her at the front of the line for 2020? does this make her the new rising star or is there a little resentiment about, you know, kind of she piled on at the crazy time that she did?

she conceded to donald trump she was at his inauguration sort of saying he is the president. we had a peaceful transition of power. i'm not really sure exactly what she was trying to say in that mother jones interview. but what i think or what i hope she was trying to say was is that we need to protect our democracy at all costs and we know because the dni basically was very clear that the russians engaged in our election. we know that the head of the cia, donald trump's cia at this rate have said the russians have engaged in our election and they tried to interfere in our election. the person that we're waiting to say has interfered in our election is the president of the united states who continues to sort of pussy foot around this whether they engaged or didn't engage. and i think that's problematic. there is no investigation whether or not they engaged. every intelligence agency agrees that they engaged. pete: we have bob mueller and special counsels, looking at things all of that. >> trying to figure out if the trump administration helped them engage. pete: we know not a single vote was changed. to question legitimacy as a

democrat isn't that unproductive for you and your party at this point. >> hillary clinton is a private citizen and she can do whatever she wants to. pete: i know she is a private citizen. she is still the leader of the party. >> let's be clear here what's more hurtful to the democracy is the fact that the president of the united states will not agree with his intelligence, i take that back, last week i guess he sort of agreed with our intelligence agencies indicating that, yes, the russians engaged in our election. no it did not change a vote. but we know they put out fake adds. we know they put out fake news. we know they tried to hack into voting-we know they tried to hack into voting machines. they tried to. that is problematic. pete: chris, two issues brought up by clinton was voter suppression, tactics in swing states and of course russian influence. what do you make of, this chris? >> first of all, i will say this, any potential threats to democracy is hillary clinton and her cronies. it's time to bring america together. i say this continuously all the time.

doing. but, you know, he is republican. pete: i think that's fair. have you seen 43 republican senators come out and say roy moore should drop out of race. rachel: and the rnc has pulled their money. pete: not a single democrat has said that about al franken. you pointed out. senate ethics committee. just let me be clear, it's a joke, okay? they have had 613 accusations in the last decade. and zero senators have been found of wrongdoing. it means they're calling for a committee that will not hold them accountable. ed: if al franken deserves his day in court to go before a ethics committee. the alleys have not been proven against roy moore. there is all kinds of troubling allegations. it's not like he hasn't been dragged before court. he hasn't been dragged before an ethics committee. if you want to give al franken time to tell his side of the story, roy moore deserves his side of the story as well. pete: he did yesterday. there was women for roy moore. rachel: his wife came out not very subtle either. she was wearing cross earrings. that's the power of a good political spouse.

i think what the infornlt is going to be able to provide is absolute documentation that the russians that they were investigating at the time were directly involved with the uranium one deal. and they will be able to expose that that is something that right now we don't believe the cfius members who approved the deal. ed: the panel. >> the panel were aware of that at that time. ed: to wrap it up here, i've got 90 seconds. the key in terms hillary clinton, i think it's important to our viewers that you are saying we haven't publicly heard from this confidential informant. he may have new information that could be troubling but in fairness to the clintons, what they are saying is there is no evidence that hillary clinton approved that deal. cfius went forward with the uranium deal. she was the sitting secretary of state at the time. in the last minute here, tell me what we know and what we don't know about whether hillary clinton, whether her fingerprints were on this or not? >> well, all you have to do is look at this. she was secretary of state at the time. the clinton foundation was

we have geraldo coming up later on in the hour. i saw him last night. he basically said that al franken's career is over. pete: some thought he may have presidential ambitions. rachel: i didn't know that until he mentioned that last night. pete: a prominent name done a lot of fundraising for other candidates as well. he says he will put himself in front of the senate ethics committee. sounds great. ed: heard from al franken, too. had that written statement. and he gave polling. hillary clinton latched on to that. heard it the third time, she doesn't talk about the victim at all. you know, you always hear democrats saying well, women need to be heard. it's all about al. well, al is my friend, al, al. interesting when republicans are in trouble. it's just the opposite. donald trump hasn't been held accountable. roy moore hasn't been held accountable. there is innocent until proven guilty in this country by the way. pete: of course. people get tried in the court of public opinion. different standards. teams going to different corners. we said this before on the program. worth repeating.

senate ethics committee found no one guilty even though in the last decade. even though over 600 allegations have been made in the senate. they haven't made -- rachel: where investigation go to die. pete: no accountability go to the senate ethics committee. ed: mostly in the senate they have rallied behind let's get this to the knicks committee. they haven't called on him to step down. there have been grassroots democrats saying franken should step down. who are they promoting as a potential candidate to replace him? keith ellison first muslim in the house of representatives. remember, he was seen by democrats as too toxic to be dnc chairman because of some of his writings in college that seemed to be positive about louis farrakhan. and so it's interesting if, in fact, as you say franken who maybe had presidential ambitions if at some point has to get out of the senate will keith ellison be the democrat appointed by the minnesota governor who is a democrat? pete: minnesota's governor is mark dayton. the progressives in minnesota just like that

petition is from the justice democrats, a far left organization. they want to see a very liberal progressive like keith ellison. they also love the diversity word. so they would love the idea of the first muslim senator and all of that even though there is a lot of whether it's ties to the nation of islam, black nationalism. muslim brotherhood and anti-semitic remarks people have interpreted in the past. this is a controversial guy. you know him next door in wisconsin. wisconsin wisconsin you know him better than i do you being from minnesota. keith ellison is from the bernie sanders wing of the party. we are seeing right now the page closing, the nail in the coffin for the legacy and the hold that the clintons have had on the democratic party. maybe in a way, this might be a way to sort of bring them to a new era. away from the clintons and towards another old horse. pete: that seems where their passion was. the system was rigged. they wanted to be for bernie sanders. the whole trajectory has been hillary clinton wanting to stay relevant.

most of the graduate roots saying done with you. ready to move on. the clintons has had so much institutional power. ed: part of the turn is uranium one some democrats have dismissed. interesting mark penn who used to do polls for bill clinton, actually and helped run hillary clinton's first presidential campaign this week for the hill newspaper he released a big harris poll, and it's interesting. he polled the country and 44% say there should be a special counsel appointed for both campaigns. 27% say just for trump. meaning the special counsel already out there. robert mueller, 21% saying just for clinton. 9% say neither. but, 44% say a special counsel in both parties. remember, the president has been kind of pressuring jeff sessions as attorney general. whether it's a special counsel or just the justice department with existing powers. let's finally get to the bottom of the clinton scandal. rachel: we have informant come up soon. is it next week? that could change the way people feel on uranium one.

rachel: maybe they are saying you are not. >> well, i think perhaps for them, being hispanic means that you can only have liberal views that's unfortunate because i view that as segregation. rachel: it is. representative i'm a fellow hispanic. i have come against this kind of discrimination really it is. i don't look at ideas as hispanic or black or white, they are either good ideas or bad ideas. they are effective ideas or they don't work. i mean, what do you say to that? >> i would say, for example, look, i agree with a lot of the members in the caucus about how we should handle dreamers in this country young people brought through no fault of their own, they were minors you, i think that's a wonderful issue where we can work together. i think they prefer to play petty political games. it's a shame because the institution of the house is the one that suffers. and i think their caucus loses credibility. ed: here is what the caucus says i want to read that they say the chc hispanic caucus is not just an

rachel: the tragic death of a 11-month-old two years ago is sparking debate in the medicine community. the baby died of damage to his heart muscle and now two doctors claim it could be linked to ingesting marijuana. the doctors saying the case was the first reported pediatric death associated with can an cannabis exposure. ed: let's bring in dr. mike. obviously you see states like colorado now legalizing marijuana in recent years. people have concerns what exact that has on people for their driving, for example. now what if a child gets that marijuana? what are your thoughts on this case? >> well, this is an interesting case report. and that's what's important to remember here. that this is a case report. this is not a scientific study that's making a clear causation. this is not what this is. doctors only see an association. why? because there were no other reasons why this baby was to have myocarditis. and the baby did ingest a large amount of cannabis not

passively, ingested. the family was living from motel to motel. they were claiming that they did have drugs around the house. so this was a strong possibility. so doctors did this case report for other medical professionals to have the ability to suspect that, hey, if a child comes in with similar presentation, we can now look to this article as a guide of what we can do. rachel: right, we are seeing a lot of people trying to minimize and say how harmless. we know it's a gate way drug, marijuana. but what should parents really be taking away from this information? >> look, in the age of legalized marijuana, and that's happening more and more within our country. we have to be cognizant that it's a drug. that it has side effects. that if it's available to our kids they might ingest it whether it's by accident or because they are curious. rachel: right. >> we need to educate our parents. when someone walks into my office and even if i get the sense that this may be using some kind of illicit substances, i don't necessarily tell them that they have to get off them. i give them the health consequences and they have to make a decision to come

off. if i know they have a child in their home, it's very important that they keep that child safe. if i feel that child is in danger, that takes my level of invomplet in this case to a higher level. rachel: absolutely. ed: what do you think parents should think about moving forward in terms of protecting their children? >> well, it's difficult to say we know all the symptoms of ingesting -- ingestion of marijuana. especially in the pediatric population there have been some sparse case reports like this one of myocarditis which means inflammation of the heart muscle with other ingestions of marijuana in teenage populations. we don't have a clear set of symptoms. the hospital of colorado put out these three great warning signs that parents can look for, lack of balance, unusual sleepiness, difficulty with breathing. these are nonspecific symptoms. ed: parents have to keep an eye out. we appreciate you coming in dr. mike. >> thank you. ed: did president trump just challenge hillary clinton to a rematch in 2020? geraldo rivera will talk about it top of the hour.
