pacific ocean with 11 passengers and crew members on board. rob: the breaking details. >> reporter: this is what we know. a navy greyhound which is the navy's premier cargo and passenger plane crashed en route to the uss ronald reagan, an aircraft carrier steaming southeast of okinawa. the crash happened four hours ago in the philippines see where reagan was training with the military, the japanese military says eight people have been recovered but their status is unknown at this time. earlier this month reagan trained with two aircraft carriers off the korean peninsula, the first time three aircraft carriers train together on the korean peninsula since the late 60s. this is the latest accident for the japan-based seventh fleet after two severed collisions at the this summer involving the uss fitzgerald and uss john mccain which killed 17 sailors. another destroyer bumped into a japanese tug after it lost
