came out and the door won't open what do you do or sitting outside in your driveway use products like wd40 or even cooking spray or a hair dryer you may need to unfreeze the lock in order to get the lock off. so if you let your car sit overnight, then the rules change a little bit. you want to make sure that you do something to try and help you open the door. >> griff: so some sort of lubricant. >> exactly or lock deicer which would be the smartest thing to have a lot of times you'll keep that in your trunk. so a lot of times people complain i don't know what to do my wiper blades are stuck to the glass. here is a little simple trick. take a grass bag, split it wrap it around underneath the wiper blades and close it into the door so these are easy things to do and of course get a good ice scraper and snow brush another thing you can do if you're stuck in the snow use your floor matt underneath the tire to get you out. in this case, if you're going forward or backward but if you don't have any traction this will give you traction.
6:55 am
>> griff: lastly will that work if you park on the street put the matt on top of the snow? >> right but here is the big important thing it's snowing outside and you think i'm just going to clean off my car. you need to clean off all of your car. and this 2018 honda accord, which happens to be running for car of the year, i'm on the jury , the sensors need to be cleaned including the one in front is really important. emergency braking all these safety features. >> griff: lauren let me tell you we've got more tips here rick what do you got there? >> rick: you've got to keep your sidewalks clean, your yard obviously people don't have their garages filled with the right equipment so we've got shannon sandy you guys are back with us again. >> absolutely. >> rick: it's electric now? >> basically, it's foldable. look how fast i can put this thing together and it's the most powerful out there. all you got to do is use two battery packs and charge them up
6:56 am
, slap them in there and it's quiet. you don't deal with it. you don't have to do any of that stuff just start it up and that's it. >> rick: come here so i see a lot of people putting the ice down. obviously it makes a big difference. you put the ice in there. >> put the ice melt inside here and get a spreader and go around and spread this about a quarter of a pound for every square yard >> rick: a quarter of a pound for every square yard. >> then you've got shovels here so basically you run into the store and pick up this. this is so you don't break your back. it's easy with a nylon tip here so you don't scratch it. >> rick: better than they used to be and shane you say this thing goes up 21 feet? >> yeah, it's a roof rake and of course instead of going on an icy ladder in these conditions and falling off-- >> rick: more fox & friends in just a minute. we'll be right back.
