everything, everything last week. because this week has been like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. do you feel that way? steve: i only have to buy for my wife. ainsley: my gosh, what is that about? does your wife do everything else? steve: yes, she does. thank you, mrs. doocy. we start with this. the republican led congress avoiding a government shut down overnight. that is good news. ainsley: and as lawmakers prepare to head home for christmas, the president could sign that tax bill into law today. brian: griff jenkins is live in washington to make it down. chris, if they had just funded the government early, you you could have been home, right? >> that's right. i would have already been home and doing all of my shopping. you know, i need someone to do that for me. by the way, before i give you this report, let's just point out it wasn't that long ago that the president was saying i'm going to deliver the biggest tax cuts in history for christmas. and every critic out there was saying no way. well, guess what? it is likely to happen. first, the good news, the

deadline to shut the government down has been averted. congress passing that stop gap bill to fund us into late january. it's the last order of business before the members ran for the doors passed the house 231 to 188. in the senate 66-32. a few democrats actually supporting it there. now the president is expecting to sign it before heading off to mar-a-lago later this morning. but, congress has a lot to do when they come back as our chad pergram says that the new december is january here because they have got to tackle a permanent budget. they have got to tackle immigration, healthcare, and 81 billion-dollar disaster aid bill that was separated from this stop gap bill. it didn't pass the senate. so they have got to do that urgently when they get back. but, as you mentioned, the crowning legislative chiefment for this congress and administration tax reform is done. the president is probably going to sign it some time around 10:00 a.m. that's the tick tock not

exactly sure. there has been speculation he would wait until january. let me address that it was to avoid these automatic spending cuts. the issue was this pay as you go budgetary rule that would have triggered automatic cuts to medicare and other programs. but that was included, a waiver of that was included in the stop gap. so, we'll see what happens, guys. it's going to be, i guess as the president says, a big present of tax cuts. ainsley: we are expecting him to sign it today because if he said he is going to deliver it before christmas today is the day, right? >> that's right. we will see if he heads out. there is no reason if it's in the stop gap bill no reason to wait until january to offset those cost cuts to 2019. steve: all right, griff, thank you very much. there is a possibility that the president of the united states could have a press conference later today. that will be exciting because he will be so around up after a big wins a he heads down south to florida for the christmas holiday. brian: by the way he is doing that breast conference. ainsley: what time, do you know? steve: we don't know.

decades and this president has come out and said look, if you are not with us, why should would he be paying so much of the light bill. take a look. we have got the figures right here. the u.s. commitment to the united nations in 2017 was north of $10 billion. what could you do with that kind of money? well, you know, you could pay for half of the border wall because it looks like that's estimated a little north of 20 billion. ainsley: listen to this breakdown 128 countries that voted against it, right? of those 11, the majority of them, receive u.s. foreign aid last year. your tax dollars. the top recipients iraq, got 4.3 billion from the u.s. afghanistan 4.2 billion. egypt 1.3 billion. jordan, 1.2 billion. pakistan, 988 million. so they are taking billions of your tax dollars but they are not standing with our country. brian: you know what? a lot of it has unbelievable pressure from the muslim population to do it.

black unemployment at 15-year low. and not to mention the judges that have been appointed all up and down. it was the most amount of circuit judges ever confirmed in the first year of a presidency since the creation of circuit judges. and you almost have an operating different reality. it's as if the more of the other media networks refuse to tell the story of this presidency. if a democrat president achieved a fraction of what president trump has done, this last year, they would call it historic and they would call it breathtaking. brian: let's take a look at the net your. one thing is clear. many people thought hillary clinton was going to win. not over the fact she didn't. in terms of the network coverage, abc, nbc, and cbs, we just took a look what their coverage was sings the fall to today. in september 31 positive stories, 359 negative. in october 41 positive, 435 negative. and in november, 33 positive to 320 negative. the average american, it

if i could start with that, this russia-gate. i really do believe at certain point people of goodwill and good conscience have to respond to the reality that after the smartest lawyers in washington, tons of them, unlimited funding, have been pouring over this whole alleged scandal, you know, so intensely, so profoundly, with such negative intent, and they have found zero evidence to implicate president donald trump as a person who colluded in a criminal way with russia. i just think at some point, you know, people of good conscience have to say you know something, even though i'm a special prosecutor, even though i have the mandate to do all of this, at some point you say there is no there there. let's move on. you know, it is okay for prosecutor not to find something sometimes. ainsley: right. >> if the person indeed is innocent of charge alleged. i think it really has been something that weighs down on
