every room lose the question is is this an invasion of privacy or a good move to protect against security threats. here to weigh in his national security analyst for the clarion project, thank you for joining us. let's go over what is changing as far as disney resorts go, the do not disturb signs will change to room occupied. employees must enter rooms every day and there will be changes at all resorts in the upcoming weeks. do you think this is a good idea? >> i do. not like there's going to be random inspections where they go through your stuff. the idea is they don't want to 24 hour period where someone is just using their room which is part of a private business to make these decisions using that room to engage in committal activity or terrorist or violent activity.

we saw stephen paddock preparing the attack using his hotel room and going further back, 911 hijackers did this and it is widely known in the law enforcement community this is typical practice of criminals and terrorists and you have got to respond to it. heather: i was in las vegas covering that shooting for a weekend a lot of hotels changed their policy after that happened after 58 people were killed, hundreds of others injured in october. i wondered, we talked how long these changes are going to last and this could be what we are used to going forward. >> i think it is inevitable because if you want to see the future of the united states you have to look at europe and if you want to see the future of europe look at israel in the middle east. when i travel to several middle eastern countries and seen these security procedures, that includes metal detectors at the front of those hotels that were

bigger. it wasn't that bad. i don't want us to get into a constant strategy of defensive measures, that makes life more of a hassle. this makes sense and i forgot i was going into the hotel for metal detectors as i was traveling. heather: disney has not said they did this is a response to what happened in las vegas. people are assuming that could be the case. at what point is it too much? at what point should people take this as an invasion of privacy? you could be sleeping and someone is knocking and announcing themselves and then wake up, are they going through your things are using metal detector to see if there are any explosives, when is a line crossed? >> if we get to the point they are calling the room and just going in anytime looking through your bags i would say that is an overreaction but i don't think we will get there because businesses have incentive to

keep the customer happy but also to keep the customer safe. all you need is a thwarted plot being assembled with the hotel room to lose a lot of money and also a story of privacy violation to lose a lot of money. it is in business interests to find that fine line and this falls into the realm as being described of responsible but it is true. ultimately the way to fight this threat is going to be overseas and intelligence operations domestically, we can't constantly respond to everything by saying what defensive measure can we put in place and so we are just living in our homes and not going outside? heather: we appreciate it. a lot of people say better to be safe than sorry. time is 18 minutes after the hour. it has been the rallying cry for democrats since inauguration

is logan, the r-rated wolverine movie transcended the superhero genre very similar to what the dark knight did and the dark it was a film that had batman but felt more like a crime drama, this feels like a western, one of hugh jackman's best performances of his career, brilliant in this movie as is daphne keane. this movie has everything going for it, the score, every element of this movie works. my number 5 is logan, no question. number for this year, the shape of water, this movie blue me away, this was made for $19.5 million which is a lot of money, but in hollywood that particular film looks like a $100 million movie, michael shannon, a huge cast, great ensemble, beautifully shot, doug

jones is a sea creature who falls in love with a woman, sounds crazy but it is very realistic and grounded at the same time ironically and it works, beautifully shot and doug jones plays a sea creature, 90% prosthetic, incredible in the film. >> how about blade runner and number 3? >> this movie, every single side is masterfully executed, directed by the director of prisoners, arrival, never made a bad movie in his career as of yet. returning as rick deckard, harrison ford. it improves on the ridley scott film, it is a true modern-day masterpiece. i love the cinematography and the score by hans them or, absolute leading characters in

this film. every time i watch this movie it grabs me and does not let go. 2 hours and 40 minutes or so, it goes by very quickly, to fully recommend seeing the original blade runner first and then watching is this. it is a continuation, not a sequel and it is better than the original film. heather: that along film. rob: i don't like any of the genres but this is the best movie i have ever seen, spectacular, get out. >> i agree with you. i thought it the first time and it me away. i watched it the second, third, fourth and fifth time. every time i watch it i find something different about it, jordan peele makes his directorial debut as a comedian but this touches on a lot of social issues but also an insanely well-made horror film. i feel when i watch it i am seeing a young hitchcock,

director every element, allison williams, her performance is so great, talk about why she is so great for second or third time when it is happening, the twist at the end will blow you away but go back and watch multiple times and find little easter eggs throughout. heather: dunkirk. >> no question, i've seen it eight times, six times in theaters, the 70 mm imax experience one of the best experiences i ever had, christopher nolan's dunkirk told three different time structures on land, sea and air, absolute masterpiece, see it on the biggest screen possible but i cannot believe we live in an era this film exists, brilliant film and i love this movie, one of the best film that will hopefully be talked a lot for years to come, those are my top five for 2017. >> have a great 2018, we will be right back.

the scandal continues to grow, 2017 may be the end of it and we will see resignations in congress. rob: without names attached to that what do you anticipate for the balance of power in 2018? >> so far the sexual-harassment scandals mostly had democrats and their supporters because it hit hollywood first, and even in congress the fewer republicans getting in trouble, more for piggish behavior than traditional sexual assault or something like that was that could change. a lot of things can come out but so far devastating the war on women narrative liberal politicians have pushed, maybe they will switch the other way again. >> one reason seemingly popping up a lot more as the number one legislative agenda item, infrastructure. does it get done? >> i am skeptical that it does.

republicans are traditionally against spending. tax reform is difficult, you will see more pushback from conservatives. democrats who are typically for infrastructure are okay with federal spending don't want to give donald trump a win or give the republican party anyone and the base doesn't want to give donald trump a win and one of the main reasons is the upcoming midterm elections 2018. >> it is so early, we don't know who is running in many of these races but sitting here 11 months before, do you have any predictions for how the legislative map will look in november? >> we don't know but we do know every member of the house of representatives will defend their seat against one third of the u.s. senate. the senate to me look safe, republicans are not in trouble generally, pro-trump districts, the house of representatives,
