square, is the record! >> we will be safe as a result. we are counting down to 2018 in the middle of the biggest party in the world! we are here in times square in the heart of new york city. in four hours this famous crystal ball will drop. in 2017 it will officially be in the books. >> it is a cold one out here! it is currently about 12 degrees. >> it's lower! >> about a million people bundle up your standing out here for hours. >> yes! >> we are right in the middle of the crosswords of the world. i've never been here. i'm so excited! >> you kaepernick jonas! >> he is pretty good. i love the jonas brothers. i also like hansen back in the day. ♪ ♪ >> how have you been doing? what has the past two years look like for you? >> it was hard but i'm grateful and thankful that it hasn't physically handicapped me. >> why did you pick time square? we all watch from home and we see the ball drop. what was it that made you choose new york city in the middle of time square? >> it's so patriotic to be able to go where most of everyone -- like most every american and people out of the country want to come here and see the ball drop and i've only ever watched it on tv and it's so amazing and

to think that i could be part of the crowd. >> second stop of jennifer bautista's tour in new york city. we are at the 9/11 memorial museum. she wanted to come to new york city because it's patriotic and we wanted to come here where we are standing today. she was diagnosed at age 13 of chronic kidney disease and the tour means a lot for her and means a lot to share this with you. ♪ ♪ >> what's your take away have been so far walking through and listening to the tourist and soaking it all in. >> it's eerie but it's beautiful

at the same time in an odd way because you can feel the history and the saddens -- sadness and you could see all the foundation and you can kind of like feel like the emotions of everyone that was here. >> we are on the second stop. new year's 'ball which is beautiful and we are here in such an iconic and place for really just the country at large. what has the day been so far for -- >> i haven't left the island in five years, to see what i wanted to see it's amazing. i never thought i'd ever be here >> jennifer here with us along with her brother alex, her mom kimberly and dad david and jamie from make a wish foundation. hey, guys, jennifer, you had said you we wanted to experience the cold. are you experienced it?

[laughter] >> and we had a lot of fun and it was was a really awesome day, tell us about it, how was your experience on friday and going through the various tours, what do you think of new york so far? >> it's amazing. it's completely different from where i come from and it's cold, you know, there's so many people, there's the drivers here amazing and everyone knows their ways around, there's so much to it that, i mean, most teenagers, i guess, wouldn't appreciate and i'm very fortunate to be here and in these circumstances and this time of year and everything. >> what's been your favorite part so far? >> so far? >> yeah. >> everything. [laughter] >> i think mostly the weather, honestly. >> jennifer, you are the only one, my friend. >> even though my hand is frozen. >> i want to go back with you guys to hawaii.

[laughter] >> dad looked out the window and said, it's snowing, alex, come outside, it's snowing. [laughter] >> now, jennifer, you have seen the new year's eve ball in personal, how excited are you for mid might -- midnight and 2018? >> exciting. it was amazing. i'm so excited. honestly.

[laughter] >> that's the first time i have seen it right there. >> wow. >> that's incredible. >> are you guys enjoying your time here? >> so much fun, non-stop fun. >> i'm sure for parents how cool it is to be able to see jennifer experience all of these things for the first time and really her dreams because she we wanted to come to new york city and wanted to be here on new year's eve and see the new year's eve ball? >> i feel fortunate to see that and if it wasn't for make a wish, it's just a blessing and they have been awesome from the get-go and meeting you guys, it's just like, wow, everything -- seeing the look her face. >> that's everything right there. >> yeah, it's priceless. would you agree, mom? >> absolutely. >> yeah. >> jennifer, what would you tell for the folks at home, unlike you they are just going to be able to see the ball from tv and

so they didn't get up close and personal, what would you say is the coolest thing about it, you got to touch it and see it change light, what was the best thing about it for you? >> i mean, it was -- it was just so delicate, for the size of it it was so delicately like put together and felt delicate, you know, i didn't know that the new year's eve ball that was that huge -- not beautiful but so delicate, you know, so intricate. >> she got the inside view. >> we saw it change, the best part about it or at least i thought, remember the on and off switch. for the folks at home, there's quite literally a button that says on and off. we will have to wait and see. >> we were tempt today switch it. >> they told us not to, didn't they? they knew that we wanted -- i think they heard us mention the on and off switch and they said, ewe can't touch.

[laughter] >> it's cold, it gets to everybody. this is an unprecedented security event. this is the most secure this event has ever been given the fact that there have been two terror attacks in the last two months in new york city, just to give you the extent. look all the way down there, that's how far the crowd goes, that's 15 blocks out, we are in 44th, that's all the way to 59th and all throughout we have seen people get checked twice before

they've entered pens, over 6,000 police officers out here in uniform, fbi, atf. there are 43 hotels in time square. why do i point to that? >> because of what happened in anythingas, nypd has put police officers days before tonight inside the hotels in the office towers overlooking time square, making sure they are looking for suspicious behavior and to prevent the kind of attack we saw in vegas, someone shooting from above and towards the crowd. there are many more observation teams and sniper teams, we have seen k-9's and sniffing out bombs. one thing we have here is the red cross. you guys are here to give hot chocolate to police officers? >> that's correct. police officers and emergency personnel that are here tonight. we have handed out hundreds and

here. what specifically about the hotels and office tower consist you tell people? what have you done out here? >> ever since 9/11 we've been doing a counterterrorism overlay, nypd with the law enforcement assets. putting an overlay of counterterrorism assets out here. this year, because of what's going oob, this is unsurpassed. we've never had this many law enforcement people out here, you know, protecting the public and there are other things they're doing. they're marking the windows so they can count the windows. every year they refine it a little better. bryan: you guys have msh sniper teams out here than ever before as well because of what happened in las vegas. >> observation teams are out there, not just the nypd but the fbi. counter sniper teams out here, yeah. bryan: you were in charge of the nypd during 9/11. you were the chief of the department. >> that's correct. bryan: and you were here, you were very instrumental in

we provide them -- our two cofounders really focus on providing a man or woman the opportunity to learn how to fish and that's what our program really does. and our service members aren't asking for a handout. they're asking for an opportunity to show themselves outside of their service. lisa: megan, i know you said when we were watching the package together you said three years ago nobody knew about dog tag bakery but now you're sitting in the middle of times square talking about it on fox news on national television. how does that feel? >> it feels phenomenal. i think it feels phenomenal for the 57 alumni that have garage waited, for our staff that works so hard, to work aggressive and create a program that has impact for our service members. we feel fortunate to be standing here representing it. but we're really fortunate to have the jobs that we have to provide the service that we can. >> very few people realize how difficult it is to make the transition from being in the military to becoming a civilian.

ed: i've got an idea for you. technology it's sort of like i want to put the iphone down and read a book. figure out how technology can really help you but sometimes it dominates to the point that you don't stay focused. >> if that's your goal, your resolution, first things first you want to write it down. then you want to have that visible. you want to be reminded that this is your goal so you actually get it done, right? and then you want to create the strategy. how are you going to put the the phone down. put in your goals you're going to check five minutes, then make it 10 minutes, 15 minutes. when you're watching tv at night, maybe you want to spend time with family, don't put the phone beside you. leave it in the kitchen, on a dresser nearby. lisa: you probably shouldn't write in your notepad on your phone then that's contrary to your goal. >> you can write it down in your

agenda. ed: but a positive note on the phone is there are a lot of apps that can get you exercises and tracking what you're doing. >> that is one of the number one, if not the number one new year's resolution. losing weight and being a good person. for myself, i just personally lost 30 pounds. lisa: good for you. can you be my workou workout bu? >> i would love to. it was 30 pounds of baby weight. i had a plan in mind. i set the goal. i wanted to lose 30 pounds in six months. i joined weight watchers. i wrote it down. then i hired a personal trainer for a short amount of time and then the circumstances changed and then i used a new plan. you have to change your course of action. >> that's great. we got bryan out in time's square and we want to get back to him. there's so much energy the crowd. what's going on? bryan: look. this is some of the many balloons they're starting to give out right now.
