left particularly cnn covers tough talk. the obama called libya an f show. was he racist? and called people from america clingers. >> religion and an i i thank towards people who aren't like them, anti-immigrant sentiment tore anti-trade sentiment, as a way to explain their frustrations. jesse: hillary called that demeaning. then 8 years later called the same people deplorable. >> you could put half of trump supporters into way call the basket of deplorables, racist,

homophobic, xenophobic, you name it. jesse: i have heard liberals call detroit an s-hole and i have heard the left call america a lot worse than s-holes. and how many times has the left called police. democrats have compared republicans to isis. where is the outrage on cnn? liberals have been calling conservatives s-holes for decades. he's always been proud of being an america unlike some people. >> for the first time in my life i'm proud of my country. >> donald trump isn't their president. jesse: cnn is outraged that

people coming from norway could benefit america. i thought the left thought norway was heaven on earth. they have been telling us they are the most of peaceful people and the most of refined political system. and norway was named the best democracy in the world. what the president said was offensive it wasn't classy, and it gave his enemies a chance to distract from his agenda. i just wish the press defended america with the same passion they defend other countries. joining me now, chris stirewalt. obviously this is a major blow to the president's momentum talking about immigration. but do you personally believe saying something like this makes the president racist? >> good news about me and my

job, it doesn't matter what i personally believe. itch no idea the quality or condition of any other human being's heart. that's between them and their maker. jesse: tino personally because i have spent some time with the president, and i don't believe he harbors racist views in this heart. he has a big heart and i think he wants what's best for america. do you think it's fair for other networks to label him as a racist? >> i don't watch cnn. jesse: i'm sorry you had to see those clips at the top. >> chris wallace gave a great speech where he talked about the dangers of getting the press broken by trump. when trump says and does outrageous things and things that are inappropriate or wrong, that the press uses this as

license to misbehave themselves. and if you look at the glee, the child-like glee with which many outlets, not just cable news networks. print and digital and broadcast are talking about it. it was reflective, hey, guys, act like you have been here before. there are two serious neerts talk about. one is on the substance of policy whether which kinds of immigrants from which kinds of countries should the united states give preference to in terms of admitting immigrants. we a have to take in nearly 1 million legal immigrants a year. jesse: can you say that's what the president was getting at? he was talking about bringing in people from other country, and the rationale used to decide who

gets to come in. he was inartful at saying that. but because you don't want to overemphasize bringing in people from impoverished nations and riddled by corruption, it doesn't make you racist, correct? >> again, when it comes to talking about whether a person is racist or a christian, or a person is this or that. those are matters of the condition of their heart. jesse: that's fine and you said that before. bust methodology with which you select nations to form your immigration patterns, that's inherently not racist. that's what canada does, that's what australia does. correct? >> there is nothing em -- there is nothing i am peer nothing en

wrong with a nation decided who comes into their nation. dick durbin who was in that meeting within and his willingness to take heat from democrats over working with the president. this puts durbin in a terrible bind. jesse: he doesn't want to be seen as cooperating with someone who harbors views that are inherently racist. there is a difference between the way the media treats democratic politicians or voters when they paint large swaths of the public with a broad brush and disparage their belief system, they called them names

and compared them to isis and the taliban. that's never challenged. i think it was dick durbin himself who compared american troops in iraq to nazis. he took heat for that but not to this level. do you understand the distinction? >> i believe you. but i will also say this. i don't care what cnn programs in a given hour. the greats thing about the media landscape today, the most of powerful name in news is fox news. we have a competing landscape with differing voices. it's not what it was 25 years ago where three networks and two newspapers and wire services got to dictate the narrative.

jesse: when it comes to refugees and migrants at the expense of american citizens, that's wowfnt reasons donald trump was elected because he tapped into those people he felt weren't given a fair shake. whether they are immigrants or dreamers, they are talked about glowingly by the democratic party and the mainstream media. no one talks about the coal miners in west virginia or the people who lost factory jobs in wisconsin. that's the difference, i believe, in this debate. >> i am from west virginia, and i can say this. there has been a lot of coverage this year and the last 18 months about voters in places like west virginia. that has been a huge focus of media attention trying to reason

out the reason why the election went the way it did. whatever any person thinks about where immigrants ought to come from and which countries ought to be prioritized, and the priorities the president ran on, tuesday trump was at the high water mark of his presidency. he conducted successful bipartisan meeting and had democrats walking away saying maybe we can do a deal. success of the tax cut legislation and all of these things had looked like the presidency was going to take new gusts. jesse: when he gets off of a great speech and then he sinks the momentum. the mueller stuff. it's like extreme highs and

extreme lows. and that's what we are seeing trite now. but i want to get back to the original point. that because you want people to come to this country to contribute that are successful and talented and well educated. that doesn't necessarily make you a racist. it makes you someone that wants to improve wages and improve the standard of living among your own citizens. of course, they are incredibly talented people from haiti, el salvador and the continent of africa. but, we just want to look to at the way we treat immigrants through a merit-based system. i believe that's getting lost in this huge i guess scandal, if you want to call it or media firestorm over the s-hole word. >> it's important if you hold

hillary had but it didn't work out for her. jesse: she has more charisma than hillary clinton. oprah has charisma oozing out of her pours. you would probably love to see oprah in the race? sure. is she a viable candidate? yes. you failed to mention all the praise a guy named donald trump laid on oprah. he claims she is a great person. oprah has like built. in the last 24 hours, donald trump doesn't have that. that's why donald trump fears oprah. oprah is well liked. the crooked hillary comment can't be applied to oprah. jesse: i would say she is a likeable person. but once you step into the realm of politics your like built goes down 0 points and half the country hates you. oprah seems to like to straddle

the issue. i don't think she is far left. but she seems mainstream. my concern is i don't know what her policy would be on isis, on north korea, on unfair trade practices in china. does she know enough to be president? >> i don't think the democratic party cares so much what she knows. the democratic party brought us slavery, the kkk and jim crow laws. they are saying it's a black woman. i'm not convinced. trump 2020 for me. jesse: when you nominate a female or minority, it insulates them from a lot of criticism. and the candidate whoever runs against that person has to be careful because if you say

anything that could be construed as sexist or racist, they will get pounded. that has to be an advantage for miss winfrey. >> i just saw an election last year. she cannot attack oprah, so she gives us an historical perspective of democrats. we are not talking about that. we are talking about 2020. let me be as clear as we can. that tv show she had. that plays well in kansas and oklahoma. middle america loves oprah. donald trump didn't have any political experience and donald trump surrounded himself allegedly with good people. jesse: in terms of donald trump's political experience he had been writing and speaking about policy and politics for three decades in new york. i don't know if oprah has been

doing that. she has been doing a lot on cook and books and feeling good. i do agree that she has an appeal to people in middle america, especially women. i want to get to something else first, the opposite of middle america. this is something chelsea handler tweeted. holy [bleep]. just watched the video of trump's bipartisan meeting yesterday. lindsey graham, what kind of blank sucking video do they have on you for you to be acting like this? wouldn't coming out be more honorable? leo, she is basically gay baiting a member of the u.s. senate with despicable language. this can't be good for the left. this is just embarrassing, is it

how did that go? >> well, jesse, let's just say i never directly came out to them still. jesse: now you are pretty out because on television. >> exactly. they found out indirectly because people would read my facebook posts and report to them. i didn't want to hide it. i just wanted to avoid having any kinds of contentious confrontation with them because it's good to get along with your family. jesse: were you more fearful of coming out as republican than you were as coming out as gay? >> yeah, yeah. more broadly, it's mainly a problem i have had with the gay population in los angeles as well with the liberals. but i think it's particularly bad among lgbt. jesse: as a gay trump supporter how have you been treated by the

people in your social circle? i know your father was a democratic congressman. too yeah. my father has been great. he's been as supportive as he's capable of which is much more than i can say for most of of the other liberals. his age or my age. the level of openly accepted bullying, shaping and shunning i and thousands of other trump supporting gaze and straights have to endure every day is astounding. jesse: i thought the left was suppose to be toll rants of other viewpoints and sexual orien taitions. are you saying that's not true? >> i am saying not only is that true, i think the left has gone 180. a yale law professor coined a term referring to gays in the

workplace called covering. it refers to the coerced hiding of crucial aspects of one's self. i don't see gaze that have to cover anymore. there may be some, which i'm not saying there aren't. but what i do see rampantly in hollywood and lgbt life is trump supporters that have to cover. they have to hide the fact that they support donald trump or incur some sort of massive biblical wrath. jesse: if you want to make america great again, you have got to fight the fight. adam, thank you very much. >> absolutely, jesse, thank you very much. jesse: using llamas to destress. it's happening in our schools. we have one on set next.
