10:00 a.m. i'm speechless. we've got a lineup no one will see coming. don't miss it. that's the homework assignment. if you want to be ahead of the curve, watches live on saturday. >> greg: i am greg gutfeld with kimberly guilfoyle, jesse watters, juan williams and dana perino. "the five" ." where is my garret when you really need him? after the false incoming missile alert in hawaii, lodge notifications will require verification by two people. you think that would've been in place already. may be a warning that prompts you to double-check the message before it goes out. when i want to delete an email, i am asked, are you sure you want to delete an email. that's for an email, not a state alert telling people they are about to die.
2:01 pm
here's a thought. maybe don't have that menu item for incoming missile so close to one that says "just testing." that's like having the kids trampoline next to a wood chipper. this group cannot be overstated. imagine if it were you, your family you're being told we were all going to die and for 40 minutes, that's your reality. then someone comes along and says oops. my wife was in hawaii. she saw mothers sobbing uncontrollably, realizing they would never see their kids again. she watched families saying goodbye and yet the presses already back to the swearword. what a contrast between real terror and phony posturing. the same people who report this missile acted with such restraint days ago were melting over s-hole. when the press conference went in hawaii, we took alive. cnn ran a repeat interview with michael wolff.
2:02 pm
maybe if that falls missile warning had s-hole in it, cnn would've gone wall-to-wall. it's disgusting that an event that led mothers to put children in storm drains was less interesting to the press than a crude phrase in a meeting. >> our leaders have failed us. donald trump is taking too long. he's not taking this seriously and there's no threat to waste -- time to waste. we've got to get rid of this nuclear threat from korea. we have to achieve peace, not play politics. >> greg: play politics. what did she just do? her states warning system screwed up an optional pass to make his geopolitical calculations based on that? no, how about setting a system that doesn't terrify people for 38 minutes and then you can take part in the conversation. until then, fix your own backyard. this infuriates me. if this had happened, dana,

new york city, the media would care. instead they've already moved on about the most ridiculous things. >> dana: anything that happens in new york gets over covered. we know that. sometimes it's warranted. you would think people would like an opportunity to go to hawaii to cover a story. thankfully it was a false alarm. i think it did expose a lot of the holes in the system. so that's good. and i also think that it showed holes in our own family planning. right after 9/11, there's a big push, called ready.gov, part of department of homeland security. there is a advertising pushed or talked about families about having a plan. that if something happens, this is where we're going to meet up, whether you need to have cash, some sort of protection, no food, water. we've gotten away from that. this was a big wake-up call for people. >> greg: jesse, this is a wake-up call. they reassign the worker.
2:04 pm
they didn't fire him. but they've got to do something with the emergency management system of hawaii. >> jesse: they have to fire more than one person. this is about a big government screwup. they screwed up so instead of saying false alarm, they didn't have anything ready to go in the script. they took 38 minutes to come up with this. are you ready? there is no missile threat or danger to hawaii. the the -- it took them 40 minus to cook up that tweet. and they don't fire anybody. they reassign them. what does it take to cause mass hysteria? the guy gets reassigned. the party that wants bigger government is okay with this. they screw up so big in the state of hawaii. don't take any responsibility for it come up compound the screwup and then the democrats want to give government more
2:05 pm
power over people's lives. they want more power over health care, more power over your life, more power over your business. this is the reason why we don't have big, bloated government. this is the exact reason. >> greg: about the 40 minutes, kimberly, they claimed they were waiting for an approval for the retraction. according to john roberts, fema didn't need authorization. they knew 5 minutes this wasn't real. they made people's lives hell. >> kimberly: they need to revamp and retool the system. the rest of the are scrambling to make sure, what can we do to make sure we don't look like hawaii and have a major problem. this is really unacceptable. i don't like when somebody gets -- will just reassign you. it's ridiculous. this is a serious issue of national security.

people were in chaos and panic. your wife was there and science. >> greg: so lucky i wasn't there. >> kimberly: they would've had to tranquilize him. >> greg: i am the guy in the disaster movie that people slap. wake-up! wake-up! they would be slapping me. my wife would have seen the worst part of me. >> jesse: i am sure she has seen it already. >> greg: that's true. juan, i feel tulsi gabbard made the leap to north korea a very political leap. it had nothing to do with north korea. he's got a focus on the incompetents. you don't jump and blame trump for his relationship with north korea. that's absurd. >> juan: i don't think it's absurd. that's where the threat comes from. >> greg: the threat was there incompetence. >> juan: the threat is that north korea's 4500 miles from

donald trump responding. >> that was a state thing, but we are now going to get involved with them. i love that they took responsibility. they took total responsibility but we are going to get involved. take total responsibility. they made a mistake. >> juan: you can see this concern is "don't blame me. wasn't me this time." that's his concern, as of close to expressing some of your outrage. >> greg: the proportion is so off. >> dana: the concern about it being a hack is a real one. cyber terror can come in lots of different forms. probably couldn't conceive of those forms. our responsibility, state or local government or federal government, trying to be more creative than what a criminal or hacker might do. if you have panic like that that leads to an accident, whether it

2:12 pm

b6 there was a glimmer of hope on tuesday that the parties migt negotiate a deal on daca. talks were derailed two days later after a testy meeting of the white house. president trump says blame democrats. >> honestly all think the democrats want to make a deal. they talk about daca but they don't want to help the daca people. you have a lot of sticking points but they are all democrats sticking points. we are ready willing and able to make a deal. they don't want security of the border. they don't want to stop drugs. they want to take money away from our military which we cannot do. >> jesse: rand paul providing some perspective.

>> you can't have an immigration compromise if everybody is out there calling for president a racist. they are destroying the setting. both sides now are destroying the setting in which anything meaningful can happen. >> jesse: the president yesterday appearing before a chemist to defend himself amid outcries over his alleged rhetoric on immigration. >> i'm not a racist. i'm the least racist person you have ever interviewed. that i can tell you. >> jesse: okay. dana, strategy for the democrats. do you think they would be okay with letting the dreamer deal get kicked down the road in order for them to run out in the midterms. >> dana: no, i don't think so. >> jesse: they want to protect the dreamer snapped out immediately. >> dana: they weren't able to fix it legislatively when president obama was in office so he took executive action which means president trump can take executive action of his own and his deadline is march.
2:19 pm
i don't think this is something they can run on. i think it's wrong on a lot of reasons. not just politically, but the policy. if they were that close last tuesday, they should be able to get it done. sounds to me like they need to figure out if they're going to have more meetings. i wouldn't have that big a meeting in order to try to come sort of a deal. a smaller group of people that can speak on others' behalf and gives the deal that way. if you have 22 people in the room, it's going to be impossible to do that. they should designate somebody as the honest broker. there's a dispute over what was offered as a possible deal and what was gearing up to agree to. if you don't have agreement on what was presented as a possibility of a framework of the deal and it turns into name-calling by the end of the week, they are in big trouble. i don't know really how they get it done by friday. what they might have to do is pass some sort of a spending measure to keep the government open committee continue to talk
2:20 pm
about this. >> jesse: speaking of honest brokers, greg gutfeld, do you think the democrats, when they leaked this be 24 comment, do you think they considered how would play within the immigration negotiation or do you think they were trying to hurt the president? >> greg: it could be both. it's a pretty sneaky and clever strategy. prove you are not racist by covering daca. i think that they are doing. if you don't do this, then you must be a racist. i don't think the deal is dead. it's always a tug-of-war with a pitbull with trump. as long as there is time. i think they already have the deal but why accepted now when you can get more out of it. i refuse to get upset over this s-hole thing after saturday. it's small potatoes, a political football. it's gross. >> dana: was it confirmed the democrats leaked the comments? >> jesse: i would assume it was but i could be wrong. let's not make a mountain out of

it discombobulated the whole set of negotiations. he's now trying to get back at it by saying the democrats don't care about any kind of border security. that's clearly his talking points. i don't know how you can say that. i go back to the gang of eight. the deal that was attempted when president obama was in office and part of that deal was a large increase in spending on border security, proved by democrats and republicans. who scuttled the deal? the far right talk show host of the republican party. that's also true going back to '06 in the bush and ministries and attempted immigration deal. there was lots of added border security. we are now at the point where it last week they said the lowest point in 45 years in terms of border crossing. more security in terms of the people from immigration, i.c.e. on the border. more drones. >> kimberly: why is that.
