the cause of this tragic fatal crash. let's go through what we do know as we've been reporting here for minutes after takeoff 3300 feet per minute. just a rapid fall from the sky, not being very far after the non-altitude anywhere close. eyewitnesses reporting fire, blaze up from this day what more can you tell us? >> the problem is the fact we really don't know anything, and what will the investigation show. the aircraft because it is a regional jet aircraft, black boxes which are -- eboni: it has been found. >> reports or they have been found. in the cockpit and then you have a flight data recorder which records the number of parameters regarding the operation of the aircraft. i'm sure those are in the process of being returned to the lab where they are being read out. you're absolutely correct that

we know the aircraft crashed about 10 minutes after takeoff during a period of time and should probably still have been claiming to altitude than the rate of descent at that point would be questionable in terms of the fact the aircraft should be climbing. certainly the rate of descent to 3300 feet a minute has been recorded would raise the issue in your mind of a problem. i looked under the circumstances -- eboni: if it's being recorded, real quick, the black box will tell us more, but i'm reading reports that they this pilot is saying there's a mechanical error or a problem in requesting an emergency landing. >> there were three priorities for pilots confronted with an emergency issue in the first is to av coming to fly the airplane can i make sure the airplane stays in the air to the extent they can do that. the second one is to navigate, to understand where they are in terms of over the ground and the

third priority is to communicate. so it is fly the airplane, navigate the airplane, communicate to the ground. the question becomes did the transition take place in the black box, the cockpit will tell us then the issue becomes, what in fact cause this emergency or other circumstance and did the pilot have an opportunity to report anything. eboni: sure. 71 fatalities there feels tremendous for a commercial fire. that is something we haven't seen in 2017 or this year for commercial fires. your take on whether this is indicative of overconfidence of commercial fires or do you think this is more of a contained issue and an outlier. >> that's really a good question. today's world commercial aviation airline operations and this was a pretty sophisticated regional jet aircraft. i don't think it's indicative of
