republicans talk about the tax cut issue, they are going to try and connect it to growing economy, we have a long way to go before we know who controls the house. jillian: how much do you think the recent crumbs comment will be hurting nancy pelosi? >> you will hear an awful lot. she was talking about tax cut and 3 million people got a thousand dollar bonus and other people are getting jobs, good things are happening because of that tax. jillian: current senate balance power, how do you think this will play out? >> right now democrats need to flip two seats to win control and that sounds manageable and they are defending ten seats, there's only a couple of real take away opportunities for the democrats. jillian, we are talking about in the sports world you focus on what are you watch in a key game, three races to watch in the battle for the senate. jillian: democrats need to win all three of these.

timeless demand signal that goes to war fighting that micro aggressions and entitlement culture, it won't roll at a time those things. it hassoun demand signal and that's what we are seeing here, is that there's a need for more discipline inside the military based on, you know, kind of the entitlement culture that we are seeing in society today. jillian: i think a lot of people may say we have to adopt, we have to change with the times, there's a new era of people, of youth coming up in the ranks and while that may be a good argument for everyday things, you say it's not necessarily the same thing when it comes to war. >> yeah, times change at a societal level i suppose. we are always going to face determined enemies in who we fight and discipline is the key to overcoming the enemies and also the key, jillian, to making sure that our warriors come home

with enough resilience to thrive after combat. it extracts a significant toll on the young men and women and the discipline necessary to not just fight and defeat your enemy but to come home whole or at least, you know, live a life that, you know, you've earned after combat without discipline is next to impossible. rob: is the military is made up of men and women both but predominantly male, a place where men seek, i'm curious if you see a change in this generation's, i guess man, have the men of this generation, american men have become softer in ways and what are they doing to try to correct and that toughen them up, you watch movies like full metal jacket, it's the real deal going into the military, going into war and not something that somebody that's soft could handle. >> well, look, rob, first of all, you can look at culture today and i feel comfortable

saying that there is a bit of an entitlement culture in our society but i will also tell you that where i served in afghanistan and other places, the millennials, the generation z men and women who go to places, they have carried a seriously heavy load in a volunteered army. and i think it needs to be stated that many of these young men and women continue to go back over there to fight and they've already born a heavy load. i don't think it's a fair statement to level across all -- i think every generation says this. i mean, i certainly do think increase in discipline is a good thing but we have a lot of young men and women including my oldest son doing amazing work protecting our country. where i will jill we thank him for his service for sure, men and women both serving on front lines, a lot of people, a lot of troops in combat right now. how is it important that those who are with us fighting for our rights and our country, that we

are able to keep them there? >> well, i mean, you know, we sleep well at night because rough men and women visit violence on those who will do us harm. i think there's another, jillian, for the discipline, if you look at our society today, we seem to be a society almost at war with itself as sec as i think younger says, we are divided along political, racial, ethic religious lines, in the military pretty much everybody is all green. we don't tolerate that kind of division. we could use more of that in our society. as young men and women get the discipline that brings them together, hopefully they'll bring that back home and share that with our communities and our societies and start to bring us together again because it's tough to watch. jillian: absolutely. new training focused areas, physical fitness, battlefield, first aid skills, we thank you very much for joining us for your time.

rob: okay, welcome back, president trump said he would sit down with robert mueller but the legal team is compiling a case arguing against that. fox news senior judicial analyst judge andrew napolitano agrees with him and joins us live now to explain why, thank you so much for coming in early today. >> pleasure to be with you, good morning. rob: you say he shouldn't sit down, he shouldn't talk to bob mueller. >> one reason he couldn't do it, he could only help bob mueller's case against him and hurt himself. think of this as a jigsaw puzzle

with 10,000 pieces. bob mueller has 9500 already from from the various documents he has gathered and the 500,000 missing pieces can only come from donald trump himself, so does donald trump in order to fulfill his promise that i have nothing to fear, i did nothing wrong, i am willing to talk to mueller really want to expose himself to contradictions or misrepresentations that might inadvertently come out of his mouth. this is important because you and i are having a conversation, if i lie to you i'm not going to go to jail but if you're an fbi agent and i lie to you, the government could indict me for that. rob: somebody that's a pro at interviewing people. >> the president is somebody who doesn't always use the common words -- [laughter] >> trying to be diplomatic. rob: he did nothing wrong, there

could be problems with that. >> old one liner that criminal defense lawyers use, don't talk to somebody who owns a grand jury. he owns two one in dc and one in west virginia. rob: manafort says that charges have nothing to do with russia meddling. byron york wrote an article that flynn didn't lie to the fbi and he still pleaded guilty, why would you plea guilty to something if you didn't do it? >> this is mysterious, rob, why would you plea guilty to something that you didn't do, to get the monkey off your back, to stop the fbi pursuing you particularly if the guilty plea is not going to result in jail time. this doesn't happen frequently, but it does happen. but for byron york for him to say that sources have told him that the fbi doubted whether general flynn to lie is very

telling because the fbi agent who is interrogated general flynn in office in west wing had with him the transcript of conversation with ambassador sergey kislyak but whatever it is bob mueller's lawyers were able to persuade the general's lawyers that it would be better for him to enter guilty plea and the general's plea said we might be able to give you something in return and what is something in return, we don't know. rob: maybe something came out in the last nine or ten minutes when flynn reportedly said that he -- we don't know a lot about that. >> it's a mirky area of law lying. ask martha stewart. remember the conversation with the fbi agent and the lawyer. she lies to him, he gets a promotion, she goes to jail. rob: that was something.
