is right in all of this but the democrats memo is ten pages long and rebuttal to the four-page memo the republican colleagues on the committee released a few weeks over it unlike the republican memo this has reductions on every page and the democrats claim their information shows that fbi and doj officials did not abuse their surveillance authority when they saw fisa warrant on this plan quarter page. >> carter page was of interest for his connection to the russians years for 2016. october the 16th he had all sorts of contacts and been with the russians and interviewed by the fbi. reporter: they claim that the so-called anti- trump dossier prepared by former british spy christopher steele was an essential part of the page by the application and that the initial application and renewal bill to mention that the dnc and heller campaign held on the dossier. democrats memo disputes that and

something the republican memo did not? >> there's a lot of debate over exactly the characterization in the republican memo. they differ greatly on whether or how important these steel memo and still dossier was in order to get the justice, sorry, the justice department to get the fisa court to allow them to reveal carter page. in the democratic memo they say they detail these times that carter page had been under scrutiny by the justice department or other groups of individuals for his ties to russia and there is serious disagreement also whether or not the justice department adequately informed the fisa court as to the political nature of how this dossier came to the fbi and discovered in the first place. there's a deep disagreement and without seeing that raw intel there's not that much that we can do. rick: the gop says adamantly that investigators of used a secret surveillance process to spy on quarter page and that democrats were behind it. for you talk about that i want

a larger puzzle and frankly, i keep going back to this but without scenes weren't we don't really know. i'm not saying we should necessarily publicize this warrant, i haven't seen it i don't know the national security indications of that and their people who are discussing this, as well. without seeing the raw intel you have to trust one side or the other here which puts everyone in a difficult spot as you try to figure out what went on. rick: clearly, the republican position is that this entire russia collusion investigation was based on this memo in this investigation that was before by the opposition party which calls the whole thing into question. >> it is and the fact that you can draw that line is the republicans are concerned about. they see you can draw the line through steel looking into this and commissioned by a company that was ultimately getting paid for by law form and that fred is

very concerning to a lot of republicans and that is something they are seizing on but you also have other information outside of that, too. here george papadopoulos, a former campaign volunteer, pleaded guilty and there's this question about what he was told in his plea and there's a discussion about speaking with russian actors, as well. there's different pieces here and it comes back to how much of that dossier or how much did that dossier way on the fisa court when they were making the decision and something we don't know the answer to. rick: course, congressman adam schiff, we heard from them tonight, the loudest voice in the room and let's hear one more soundbite from him and get the reaction to the . >> christopher steele did not know who was paying to the client was, was paying and what the fbi properly reported is what they suspected, what

christopher steele may have suspected and they amassed it appropriately. that is what they are supposed to do. rick: do we know that that is true? >> we don't entirely know. i think there is some agreement that the justice that the republican memo says they by the court was not adequately informed and the democratic memo says they were not completely informed but adequately informed so it depends on your definition. it is interesting that you're seeing these two main sides who are it's nunez versus shift and you're seeing republicans and democrats because they see the only thing that people can target are these two messengers there's a smear campaign on both sides to discredit the republicans are trying to discredit shift and saying he's not a reliable actor and they're trying to discredit nunez to make sure that that lens you look at if you're looking at these individuals you can question

them. that is frustrating and trying to figure out the truth behind this warrant, as well. rick: in the meantime, the president of the white house meeting from day one that there was no collusion and also maintain that nothing in the smaller investigation has proven that there was any collusion at this point. >> yeah, and we certainly haven't seen articulable, hard evidence otherwise muller would have brought charges, right? the investigation is not done and there is certainly circumstantial pieces that require more information and certainly there are multiple people who applied guilty in are going to be cooperating but the question is what will be uncovered in this future investigation and where will it twist and turn. rick: where do we go from here? >> i mean, really, it looks like muller investigation is not dying down and there was just a plea agreement with richard gates, former deputy campaign chairman, was in his title, i believe on friday so from where we go from here is that muller is doing his work in doing his investigation and we have to see what comes out of that whether

rick: president has repeatedly called to farm teachers in the wake of the parkland massacre. this, as we learn one small ohio town, has already taken such action secretly training 16 teachers instructing them to fire back at those if there was a school shooting break that they filed this report from sydney, ohio. >> two school districts near dayton, ohio have a confidential team of teachers and staff trained to fire back at an active shooter. >> our staff members are trained to go to the address the threat, not to run away. reporter: the schools take measures to conceal the gun that are hidden in biometric or numeric states. it can be only opened only by staff of the armed response team. each member is vetted by the district must have a license to carry and attend monthly rigorous training. >> the first responder team members have access to these as well. reporter: many students support
