the other day was a disgrace. where they had close to a thousand people ready to be gotten. she went out and warns them all. scattered. instead of taking in 1,000, they took in a fraction of that very, very dangerous from the standpoint of i.c.e. and border patrol. very dangerous. you really made law enforcement much more dangerous than it had to be. >> dana: the sanctuary state lashing out hard. >> how dare you vilify members of our community by trying to frighten the american public into thinking that all undocumented residents are dangerous criminals. the attorney general is trying to distract the american people from a failed immigration syste system. by painting a racist broad brush of our immigrant community is dangerous criminals. >> it's a bad idea for him to

political basis, this is the issue where they are not going to agree. a lot of people do, and they can't agree. >> kimberly: this is what happens. california, the leaders, the governor, aggressive against president trump, his immigration policies. you have made errors making a protest, warning illegals there is about to be a raid. suing him environment the about the wall, taking a lot of heat about that. everybody was running for office for governor next feels the same way and wants to sue. i don't think that's going to work out very well for them. what i like about president trump is he is not shying away from any kind of adversity. he's going to go there and make his opinions known. i think it's going to be contentious. there will probably protest but ultimately i believe he is going to prevail on this issue. >> dana: greg, california, of

course his politics mostly lean left. there are a lot of conservative and republicans who live there that probably then agree that at least on the sanctuary city issue and may be the wall, it's a good idea. >> greg: we touched on this yesterday. if you are a californian, do you want your far left leaders to equate this kind of issue within issue that led to civil war? when they are bringing up slavery or civil rights, are you as a californian okay with far left activists basically drumming up an issue to a point where it could be -- lead to violence. that's nuts. it's a little bit irrational to bring up these things when you're talking about illegal aliens on federal law and sanctuary cities. the other point, i said if you

president obama sued arizona for violating some of the federal government policies with regard to immigration, and he won because the court said federal law, when it comes to immigration, is supreme and is the law of the land and states shouldn't interfere. california's response to this is for they are not interfering. when they are doing under the tenth amendment which guarantees them the right to protect public safety, taking steps to make sure that private employers aren't simply trying to avoid paying people by calling the feds and say get these guys out of here before i had to pay them. or secondly, the people who are not criminals but are immigrants are not abuse when they are detained in houston facilities. sometimes for-profit facilities. there's been a history of past abuse of immigrants. when it comes to talk about slavery, that was brought up not by kamala harris. it was brought up a jeff sessions who said the seven

states believed in nullification of federal law, and that's what he said california was up to. i think there are areas here were california's going to say we are not trying to nullify any law. we are simply trying to protect the state of california. >> greg: protect from what? >> juan: public safety. >> greg: who is a threat to public safety? >> juan: people feel like they can talk to the cops. they can't talk to law enforcement because they are unfair. that's why the police chief backs it up. >> dana: some police chiefs do. that's true. that's why i said some. what do you think, jason? when you are in congress, this issue when president obama sued arizona, that took place at that time. >> jason: one of the most infuriating hearings i held was warning of the victims of the crimes. the point isn't about the bigger, broader population, although if you are here illegally, you are here illegally. it is the criminal element.

immigrants we can pay less. that's what that's about. >> jason: they go to great lengths to protect the criminal element as opposed to supporting i.c.e. officers who put their lives on the line. >> juan: i think you will remember president obama was called the deporter in chief. he was aggressive. if you have committed a crime and you are an illegal immigrant, people want you out. what we are talking about his red meat for the base, i think that's what pelosi said. >> greg: you are in trouble when you are quoting pelosi, juan. >> dana: let me ask about the policy. >> juan: aggravates republicans who love to beat her up. >> dana: i wanted to ask about the policies. there is a gubernatorial and senate election in california next year. in some ways what you are seeing in some of the comments from somebody like the mayor of oakland, she said how dare you endanger the lives of our law enforcement officers to promote a radical open borders agenda.

is this issue going to poll all of those democrats in the gubernatorial race farther to the left as they try to enact the primary? possibly making it hard for them to attack back to the center. >> kimberly: i think it will make it difficult for them to attack back to the center -- attack work hard. both are pretty decidedly left. there's a component in southern california. they are going to want to try to grab database. it's going to be tough because i think they are going to be pushed even further to the left. you see it's already in the rhetoric. they don't want to observe these policies, saying you shouldn't be wanting people when these raids are happening. they have kind of already made

their choices. >> dana: what happens for a conservative in california? >> greg: there is the gutfeld solution. selling california to mexico. the rest of america gets a three year tax holiday. the remaining ghost to solve poverty, air pollution, diseases. by 2030, america will consider buying california back but only if they behave. >> dana: who was going to be the judge of that? >> kimberly: he told me he was listening in the car on the radio, larry kudlow, perhaps the next national economic advisor. he is good. >> jason: senator grassley or bob goodlatte should immediately call up the mayor of oakland, have her raise her right hand and testify and explain exactly what went down. how did she know these raids were coming. where did she get that

criminology. four times as many children were killed in schools and the '90s than they are now. over 55 million school kids, an average of ten students a year, the defendant killed over 25 years. do the math. compared to other things, it's very small. as video games go up, it seems like this is on the decline. the only differences what we are seeing our spectacles. we have to admit that, the numbers out of chicago. people are getting killed in far greater numbers. these spectacles grab our attention. i think we are all trying to look for the magic villain. the left will say the nra and the right will say talk about video games. and i've talked about movies. and my belief we have devalued the human currency in pop culture. i don't know if that translates by the numbers into deaths. i don't think you can make that leap, though i understand the urgency to blame that when you see this stuff and you see these kids come all they do all day is

try to kill each other. has to have some kind of correlation. >> juan: don't you think this is about trump trying to get away from conversations about gun control? here's the key. i think you have the video industry, as kimberly said in the introduction, saying we distribute around the globe. there is no other country where you see these mass shootings, even as you say greg, there has been a decrease. we have more mass shootings in any country in the world, and we don't have a specific limit in terms of who gets our violent video games. let me finish. >> greg: major city where there is -- one of the safest countries in the world. >> juan: president obama thought there might be a link to the video games. he too was interested in this but i think we have been through these arguments as a nation. as pornography, does pornography change the way we men relate to

women? how about hard-core rap? that argument, terrible for our teenagers to be hearing about the n-word, misogyny, i've been in jail, i shot more people than you. we lose these arguments every time. >> jason: i think it comes down to the breakdown of the family. i don't think it's the video games or movies that come first. there's a small subset of kids that can't distinguish right from wrong. he put them 15 hours in a scenario where they are killing people all day and they can't establish right from wrong, they start to act on it. remember the mass killing? aurora, colorado, in 2012 at a movie. this kid -- he was so mentally unstable. i think a lot of it comes down to the breakdown of the family. it's unfair to say donald trump is avoiding a discussion. he's going to get a lot of credit for having an open dialogue in the white house about a variety of subjects that are very difficult, and doing it

i've always said it's good we play down the reporting of this. the attention field copycats. >> dana: not just for shootings. this happens with other crimes. in the case of the isis flag, talk about a red flag. there's a problem here. i will offer another solution from hardening the targets. you are going to think i'm ridiculous but hear me out. arm teachers if you want. if that's what you decide to do. you could have police officers. i also think dogs make a big difference. bomb-sniffing dogs, ammunition sniffing dogs. they are a great deterrent. home security or schools. it's a pretty affordable one. you can't have them there by themselves. they have to have a handler. >> greg: i see a second business for you. >> dana: think about all of these dogs coming back for more time. they have a couple more years in

them. we could use them. >> greg: that's true. >> jason: southwestern utah. you worry because law enforcement has to take this seriously. i think you're both right. the pentagon said more than -- sent more than $20 billion to try to find improvised explosive devices and weapons. their conclusion, the best way to find them is dogs. it's not technology. it's dogs is the single best way to do it. we have to harden some of these soft targets, and law enforcement has got to have the people back when they actually want to go prosecute these people. even though the kid may be 17 years old, we've got to believe them and prosecute them. >> greg: there has to be a way to tag them. if this kid is deranged but he hasn't broken the law, we need a database. i don't know how this guy was able to replace a flag on a school and not get caught. >> juan: most people would think the problem is the guy is

crazy. they would think -- i think they would react less to which flag, what flag is that anyway? what is the kid doing? >> dana: it would be different if it was a "don't tread on me" flag if it was an isis flag. >> juan: if you are specifically saying is this an islamic terror connection? often times with shootings that's a first time we look at. it's just that he is deranged. i don't mind having precautions in place but i think we have to discuss kids who are mentally ill coming back to your family breakdown stuff, no father, no direction. and we have to talk about guns and these people shouldn't have access to guns. >> kimberly: goes to show you where somebody has this kind of intention, they are going to do whatever it takes to get some kind of weapon to effectuate the outcome they are desiring, whether it's somebody making,

like in boston with the pressure cookers. people downloading videos. very troubling. they are going to find a way to do it. i'm a big proponent of having dogs and utilizing them. i've seen them be very effective with law enforcement. when i worked as a prosecutor and in schools i have taught in as an educator as well. i think it's a fantastic idea and i am familiar with some organizations that do this. why not? why wouldn't we? we use them in the military coming the armed forces, because they are effective. >> dana: train stations, bus stations. >> kimberly: why not protect our schools? >> greg: i worry so far we are relying so much on luck and chance. more to come in just a moment.

the president campaigned on it. the president is always negotiating, always putting other people back on their heels and i think he should be given some latitude to see how this works out and let him do what he said he was going to do. >> juan: what about the divide within the party? >> jason: i think it's healthy to have a debate. he's been campaigning for it for a year. there is a vibrant debate. where i really think there's going to be a tough thing is for the democrats. what do they have to campaign for? they have donald trump who is pulling up every blue-collar rat and they are going for donald trump. >> juan: kimberly, the kock brothers are saying they don't agree. this will cost us jobs. they point to bush tariffs, obama tariffs. at the start of the great depression. >> kimberly: 100 congressional leaders have requested -- i think we have to follow. let's give him a chance and see how it works out.

hopefully will stimulate the economy. >> dana: the president has had a steely resolve on it. a lot of conservatives on the protectionist issue. i can't get my head around it. grover northwood tweeted a tariff is a tax. economic theory always goes back to the same point which is i want american businesses to be able to compete and american workers to have great jobs and for american consumers to be able to afford good products they want to buy. if we want to compete fairly, we win 85% of the cases we take to the world trade organization and there's a better way to go about it. >> juan: do you worry about a full global trade war? >> greg: he is exempting canada and mexico. that makes trump half a globalist. north american nationalist? not sure. it's good news because it shows he's flexible. when you look at mike pence,

about 7:00 tonight. the topic will be north korea. the south korean national security advisor has been at the white house all day. meeting with h.r. mcmaster, our national security advisor to talk about what looks like a bit of a breakthrough with kim jong un agreeing he will come to the border crossing between north and south korea and go to the peace house for the very first talks he's ever had with moon jae-in, the south korean president. it will mark the first time since the korean war that a north korean leader has been on south korean soil. all of this, the white house hoped, would be leading to our direct talks between the united states and north korea about getting rid of its nuclear weapons program. the president has said he would only talk to north korea if it was about denuclearizing the korean peninsula and it looks like we may be getting closer to that point. we don't know what the substance

of the announcement will be but it will be on north korea and will be coming from south korea and the briefing room at about 7:00. keep watching for that. >> juan: thank you, john. any thoughts, congressman? >> jason: i don't believe kim jong un has ever met with another world leader. if it's happening with president moon, it will be very significant. i think you have to give some credence to what donald trump has been doing. the rhetoric combined with the military might has been having an effect. i hope this is as positive as it sounds great >> dana: i didn't realize the south korean national security advisor, i had read about it this morning. when the news first broke, i thought it was coming from south korea. one of the things the north koreans had tried to do was drive a wedge between the united states and south korea. it appears the united states and south korea have remained strong enough in their alliance forcing kim jong un to come to them. pretty good developing. >> kimberly: i think it's
