and remember, no sanctions are coming off, no change in the president, he is saying you have to denuclearize if you want anything to happen. >> joined me now we have -- compile all of the interviews. what is the overall sentiment? >> else in a while that there is very cautious optimism. both sides of the aisle feel that this is a great opportunity but they also have their reservations. the publicans are saying that they want donald trump to continue to push north korea to take serious jobs for denuclearization and democrats are concerned that maybe the president will not handle the meeting as well as they would like to. there is also the issue that the state department isn't fully staffed the best in this situation. >> so step-by-step. the presidents unpredictability. it probably factors into this meeting getting booked.

the president unpredictability probably factors into anxiety over this meeting. both accurate? >> yes, we have a very a predictable president meeting with a very unpredictable leader of north korea in an unprecedented meeting. it is a huge question mark how this will turn out. both parties want to find a solution but they also have a history that is rather hostile. >> senator elizabeth warren, she said she was the president to succeed. >> i think everyone has a reason to want this to come out successfully. and senator warren said that a success in this case a success for the us. this could potentially be a great step towards greater peace between the two countries. and as you north korea is building up the nuclear arsenal and it could potentially reach

the us mainland in a couple of months. that is something we would like to prevent. >> when you talk about the presidents strategy typically does the president trump strategy to not let on, that he can assess the situation at game time and make his move. now that may work in real estate but what about with this rogue regime? >> right. there are so many questions right now. obviously this is the president in his prime. he loves to be the dealmaker. he left to make news unprecedented. this is him in his prime but we also note above president trump in kim jong-un are, cannot be predicted. we do not know what will happen. anyone who says that they know exactly what north korea is thinking, they are lying. >> look, there are staffing issues at the state department that added another variable to

down the interstate in denver. this happened for several hours last weekend. turns out the suspect is an illegal immigrant from mexico. he is now free after posting bail. that despite a request in the immigration and customs enforcement agency to detain him. we are following this disturbing story. hello brian. >> the sheriff department has been adamant all week that they would not honor us immigration and customs enforcement requests to detain a 26-year-old illegal immigrant accused of vehicular dui homicide inability hit-and-run if he posted bail. yesterday, he posted the $25,000 bond and was released. i.c.e. had wanted the sheriff department to hold it longer so they could decide whether to take him into custody and deport him back to mexico. it is now unclear whether he is a free man for i.c.e. has taken him into custody. he was arrested last week for suspected dui in which he crashed his pickup truck into a

semi truck, killing the 57-year-old driver in a fiery crash. allegedly fled the scene leaving the man to die. the sheriff department says that unless i.c.e. offered federal criminal warrant they could not hold him in jail if he posted bail. the sheriff department saying, we quote - will not honor civil detainers as it is considered unconstitutional. denver any municipalities in colorado have not hundred i.c.e. detainers since around 2013 when the aclu successfully sued a county on behalf of the illegal immigrant held on an i.c.e. request. i.c.e. says that they need municipalities to honor detainers to keep criminals from being released. >> we detained somewhere around 34 to 40,000 people a day. place detainers on thousands and thousands of people. getting federal warrants for each one of those individuals

symmetry between the american and russian leaders. especially during the reagan administration. we have been hearing for the last couple of days that this is so unusual. so unprecedented. but in fact it was the reagan and gorbachev meetings the top of us soviet leadership that lets the breakthrough for the first nuclear disarmament agreement of the cold war in 1987. this is consistent with really high level nuclear diplomacy. and in that way i think that there is no risk associated with it. now, one of the potential dangers and pitfalls is that the media and detractors will not understand that the first engagement between kim jong-un and president donald trump may not lead to major results. there could be some type of breakthrough but if you look back to reagan and gorbachev there summit, it did not go as planned and there was no

agreement because of missile defense and the russians were concerned about the us program. but one year later we got in washington at that summit, the breakthrough. it takes time. and try to help everyone understand that this type of symmetry often takes time. >> remember that it was raining and president ronald reagan had a coat on and he came out like stonefaced from the ãit did lead to success but there are concerns. people think that when kim jong-un will get to the table, he will say get the us troops 20,000 out of south korea. stop defending south korea. do not have any more military exercises. and then i will consider maybe doing something with the nuclear program. which they say he will never give up because it is key to survival. >> while i find that an onset of concerns. north korean leader has agreed to stopping his nuclear testing now. he has agreed to discussing denuclearization.

and he has agreed to watching and standing by as the us and south korea go ahead with their plan -- >> they say that is not doing it though. critics say it doesn't matter what he said, looking over the years. it backtracked and negotiations whether it was party talks or the deal 19/94 husband thinking that he will just have a history of violating anything they say. >> those discussions in the past, 25 years have been at lower levels. and the commitments were not very robust to begin with. these are commitments coming out of the top of the government and north korea and so i think we have got to be cautiously optimistic but we have to realize, this is the year of diplomacy and in us and korea relations. last year was a difficult year with rhetoric and missile testing for both sides have been working overtime on the

really, i think the nra is going to be a slippery footing with their lawsuit. i think you'll have a tough time. >> let me get richard's take on florida's new gun law. >> i think there is a certain provisions of the gun laws that are good except for the provision that deals with raising the age of 18 to 21 to purchase a rifle. certainly, that is not contemplated in terms of keeping people safe. what keeps people safe is common sense legislation. it does not include us with the age. it's keeping it on the hands of criminals, out of the hands of mental illness. there is no information here to connect this to say raising the age will keep people safer. and in addition to that the gun control act of 1968, there is a federal law. it allowed people to purchase rifles and shotguns between the ages of 18 and 20. the reason being that they can use those weapons is hunting. i think that the nra is on
