there's a o lot of concern about illegal immigration, whatever you think the best solution is. what do you think the downside for american citizens is? >> let's start with this wall trumpet wants to build. he first told us it was going to be built and paid for by the mexicans. they say they won't do that. >> tucker: i'm sorry. i'm happy to talk about the wall but to get to the concerned about illegal immigration. why should we be concerned? what are the downsides for illegal immigration for american citizens? >> you have the concern that undocumented people coming into the u.s. or overstaying visas. those are down. they have been down every year for some time now. it's not a very significant problem. instead, this something trump is

drumming up in order to scare people. >> tucker: people come over. there are a lot of people apprehended at the border and there are more than 10 million illegals living in the country. you don't think american citizens are hurt in any way or have any legitimate reason to be concerned? >> i am trying to understand what the big concern is here. what we are talking about is a border wall that would cost somewhere between 60 and $120 billion, money that would be taxpayer dollars wasted for something that won't work. >> tucker: hold on. >> how do you overcome a 34 wall? a 32-foot ladder. >> tucker: i am familiar with the bumper sticker. i wonder if you are concerned that all about the effects of unemployment -- unemployment. there are 7 million american

working men who dropped out of the labor force there is a report by the fed, they tell researchers the wages they are competing far too low. one of the reasons is because of competition from immigrants. that doesn't bother you at all? have you looked into it? should people be worried about it? >> if we look at economic analysis, no. that should not be a significant concern for people. emigrants help build the economy which raises wages. what we have seen is wages are now, as on the planet has come down close to 4%, wages are starting too raise. in this economy or any economy. immigrants are essential to growing the economy. >> tucker: let me ask you, if we have 11 million people here illegally and we have 7 million american citizens, men of

working age not working, why wouldn't we prefer the citizens to be working instead of the people here illegally? should we give priority to our citizens is our question. >> i feel like the premise of the question is missing basic economics.on if we want to create jobs, we need a robust entry of immigrants into this country. that's what allows us to grow jobs in this country. >> tucker: hold on. we have 11 million at least, may be higher, but the baseline is 11 million illegal alien workers in the country. we still have one of the highest workforce nonparticipation rates in modern history. how many more legal workers will be needed in order to help american citizens? what do you think the perfect number would be? >> i reject the entire premise of the question. you can keep asking it. >> tucker: no, no, no. you are saying we need more

people. it helps our economy. how many more do we need? >> i'm trying to answer the question. the fact is immigrants help grow the economy. that's what brings people into the workforce. that's what creates jobs. >> tucker: and i am responding with actual facts by telling you that hasn't worked. i'm just wondering what would work.wo i am saying if we face no threat and our fears are rooted in bigotry and we don't need a wall -- that is the supposition. a lot of people are afraid of illegal immigration. you are saying we have no reason to be. clearly it's irrational in your opinion. why wouldn't we follow the lead of a lot of democrats and abolish i.c.e.? ready for that? >> if we look at the fact that we haven't -- we didn't have i.c.e. prior to p 9/11. we've been able -- it wasn't

part of the super agency at dhs which creates -- what we have seen in the transition to i.c.e.'s behavior, this sense of people actingg on their own outside of constitutional requirements. i can see absolutely why senator harris would raise a concern. t >> tucker: do you think it's a legitimate thing to say let's abolish i.c.e. pretty simple question. yes or no. >> i think i answered it. kamala harris raised issues and i think they should seriously be considered. >> tucker: okay, good. i don't want to misquote you. i think our viewers in the country should know with the position as of the progressive left on i.c.e. and you explain it. ith appreciate it. thank you. a video going viral shows a mother being arrested by i.c.e., those cowboys you just heard about. >> [screaming]

>> tucker: it's a pretty upsetting video. for that reason it is getting a wide play on the left. a key detail is being left out. the woman in theft video isn't some random illegal alien pulled off the street by those cowboys. she is suspect by the feds of organizing human trafficking operation. we have the executive director for the center for immigration studies. in coverage as dishonest of this in a long time. this is the definition of propaganda. if you show that video and take out the context, it is like showing the man in front of the tank in tiananman square. >> there are all over -- the border patrol, if they wanted to randomly arrest illegal immigrants with which they don't twaste their time with, they

wouldn't have done this. they knew this woman was involved in a smuggling ring. they sought her out, tried to get in touch with her. she didn't respond. apparently when they confronted her, she tried to flee, tried to get another car in in driveway. she is resisting arrest as you can see. the border patrol did its job, yes. b 's an upsetting video because everyone is yelling and screaming but this womanve put herself in the situation by working with these criminal smuggling rings. >> tucker: apparently. i don't think the case has reached its conclusion but the point is there was a reason for it. she wasn't a hapless victim. you heard, i believe, the head of immigration studies at the largest progressive think tank say -- center for american progress. that we ought to entertain getting rid of i.c.e. what would happen if we did

that? >> who would be enforcing immigration laws? that's the real question. the border patrol does its job well andnd they will call for getting rid of the border patrol next they do a good job at near the border. but most immigration enforcement happens inside the country. who does that? i.c.e. does that. what they are saying is that in effect once you get past the border patrol, you should be home free. and this isn't some new thing. this is essentially what hillary clinton and bernie sanders said during the campaign, that any illegal immigrant who gets into the united states who doesn't actually kill somebody, isn't convicted of a violent felony, that's the way she put it, should be allowed to stay. this really is not some kind of offbeat outlier opinion. this has become the position of, the standard position of the left. it really shows how radicalized the democratic party has become. >> tucker: broad support for eliminating all border security?

of state designate mike pompeo. >> tucker: fox senior political analyst brit hume joins us. there's an awful lot going on. let's go in order. first, tillerson. what do you make of it? >> it does show you cannot disagree with the president on major foreign policy issues to with the iran deal, and there are other differences as well. plus the fact that the state department can be a pretty bulky place.ar this president is nowhere near the first president who's had trouble getting his arms around it and getting control of it. there's a good argument whether tillerson did either over there but there's a question with secretaries of state. are they representing the state department to the white house orep the white house to the state department. i think is a feeling in this administration in this white house the tillerson had become to some extent at least a creature of the building, although he wasn't thought over there to be all that popular. so his days were probably numbered.

it's regrettable, tucker, because it means we will have a period of delay while mike pompeo goesis through this process, the same is true for his deputy. that leaves a period in which the agencies are not functioning in a way that they are new leaders will want them to. it's regrettable at the early stages of this administration they are still getting the right people in place. >> tucker: yeah, it is regrettable. what you make of the report, the majority report from the intel community yesterday that found no collusion between the trump campaign and putin? >> i think it's probably correct that that committee did find no collusion. i would note in the face of all the criticism that house intel committee and the majority have received a meanwhile over in the sainted senate intelligence committee, it is chairman richard burr of north carolina,

republican of north carolina, said in a television interview that that investigation which has been thought to be very much more sober and bipartisan and better had come so far, in a sense, to the same conclusion. i think there's a good reason for that. in all likelihood there was no collusion. and there's been no evidence of it so far and i think that piece of their conclusion is probably correct and i notice that even adam schiff of california, who has been a dogged dissenter and one might say a partisan one. even he, all he said with the investigation should continue. he did not say that he or that committee has evidence that would dispute or even refute the committees conclusion on collusion. >> tucker: he called it a tragic milestone but didn't explain. for special election in pennsylvania, district outside pittsburgh that the president won by 20 points. seems very tight tonight. are we inflating its meaning?

>> it's an odd election. i would hesitate to draw major conclusions. the force of the protest vote that will come out to vote for the democrat. young, attractive candidates on the democratic side and i somewhat somewhat doughty character on the republican side. this is also conducted to some extent in the shadow of the departure of the previous republican incumbent who left in a sex scandal. bear in mind this is an election to fill a seat between now and next november. there will be a whole new district because of redistricting and this one will go away. legislatively it's pretty insignificant but it will be seen as a bellwether on both sides. depending on who wins. no doubt. >> tucker: it's interesting that the democrat is running

away from the gun issue which i think a lot of democrats think is a winner for them but not this one apparently. >> yeah, he certainly is. and he is saying he won't back nancy pelosi for speaker. trying to convince the people in the district. it's majority democratic district. it's been hospitable to republicans for a long time and been considered a safe district. he doesn't run away from the party on everything. i gather he did not support the tax cut which i think the benefits of which may be starting to be felt and that district. we will see what effect that ha has. it's an unusual race. >> tucker: brit hume, the voice of reason in a turbulent world. thank you. hillary clinton touring india and revealing a lot about what she thinks about you. we pretty astonishing remarks n.

there was a study by oregon state university that said women, white women, are unduly pressured by their partners when it comes to making political decisions. generally women, when they are unmarried, they tend to vote with the good of their gender in mind. once they become married, they be more likely to vote in their husbands best economic interests. this is largely because women hold, earn less money and hold less power in this country. there is evidence to back up the fact that women one married, specifically white women, tend to vote with their husbands economic interests in mind. that is perceived to be for white women at least voting republican. >> tucker: if you have married white people and you spend a huge amount of time attacking them on the basis of their race and marital status, as the

can engage in anticompetitive behavior. i think it's time. >> tucker: we have a whole lot of federal laws against it. google for example which has a choke hold on all human information. everything youis could know is n google. they have an effective monopoly on searching. that seems like too much power for any organization. why hasn't congress done anything to reduce that power and the threat to the rest of us? >> well, that's the correct question. google, 92% of the market by dollar volume is bigger than the entire advertising market of any nation with the exception of the u.s. it will probably blow by the ad in two years.u.s. current antitrust law is based on the premise that if it's good for the consumer, then it's good for society. that's what we are wrestling with. most people have a difficult time arguing that google isn't good for the consumer. the problem is we don't know what we don't know and that is that we don't know what

companies would emerged if we didn't have a duopology. if you work in digital marketing and you don't work for one of the'r two, you are in a business that's instructional decline. >> tucker: that means that between facebook and google, all digital news is really controlled, the purse strings are controlled by two companies. i mean, if that's not a threatening concentration of power? >> i believe it is a threatening concentration of power. i believe if fox or news corps had been weaponized by an intelligence arm of the russian government, they would have incurred huge fines. advertisers would have a band of the network. in the case of facebook, you have two companies that control almost all traffic and e-commerce and your presence on the web. if it is not a monopoly, it's a monopsony. advertisers have no choice. there's too much power in these companies. i don't think they are evil. i don't think they have done anything wrong. they do a companies was supposed
