they will give us an update any minute now. rob: laura ingle is live with breaking developments. >> reporter: we are just moments from this press conference, we are told miami-dade police department coming out with law enforcement officials and other agencies, working through the night. we have been seeing videos and photos of what has been happening and we will show you things the ntsb has tweeted out, photos of them working the scene, they have been here with search and rescue teams using anything they can, listening devices and dogs to find any signs of life underneath that rubble. as to what happened yesterday just before 2:00 the local time this devastating collapse, video tells the tale. you can see this walkway that collapsed and killed four people, injured many others and the desperate search for finding

>> we have been working the entire night, we had our last operational brief 11:45 last night, decided to continue working throughout the night. we have engineers on scene, in tsb arrived last night to join the efforts was a representative from the fbi also here among others. as of last night's operational brief it was determined they were going to relinquish the operation to the police department. this has turned from rescue to recovery operation. we are able to confirm to you this is a very slow process, they are still working at the concrete. engineers told us it has to be done carefully not only because we have to preserve evidence and there might be victims under there, we have to treat it delicately but the safety of the rescuers as well and the unstable list of the bridge

going on now. they are still working at it. what i can confirm is at this point we can confirm six fatalities. we are -- victim advocates working throughout the night with family members. in tsb has affected advisory personnel working closely with families. what we are able to say is we will continue working at this throughout the day. we will provide media briefs as the day goes by. our next one is going to be approximately 9:00 :00 am where we will have members of each entity to provide additional information. we have not been able to confirm or divulge the information

regarding the names, race and sex of victims of the fatalities. fire rescue transport transported to a local hospital, one may have transported themselves because reports we are getting that they have ten individuals at the hospital and those numbers will fluctuate. any questions? >> when will bodies be processed? >> none have been removed as of yet. the six we confirm are the only ones we have been able to reach out files to but they are -- there is the possibility that under the concrete there may be additional vehicles and they are trying to work at it in a very tactical way because as i mentioned before the structure is fragile and it could be dangerous to rescue personnel

from the scene of this bridge collapse. a lot of equipment has been brought in and they have to go slowly as they not only move through to see what they can uncover but also trying to save lives and preserve as much evidence as possible. we are going to have another update at 9:00 am local time and we will hear from members of the ntsb at the press conference giving us more information on their investigation into the construction company that was part of this. it was supposed to be an innovative design. a lot of people celebrated saturday when the bridge that was constructed to the side, put into place, drone video, everyone was excited for it. it was a special project but turned into a disaster, more coming through. >> the latest on this tragedy
