done it that way. that's a matter of opinion. but what we have to understand here is that whether or not it is political, that's a whole other conversation and based on how the president coronetted to attack mccabe through twitter you can say that it was rooted in a political call action. rob: it did come off as rather cruel although it might have been the end result anyway. when mccabe came out with the statement and basically tried to make it sound like it was another trump assault on the fbi, that was rather fascinating considering like we just said that the fbi are the ones who recommended that mccabe be fired, what did you make of that statement? >> you know, i think if you look at that statement and if you look at the actual topic of the pension, think about it, he's about to make more money with the book advance than he ever would with this pension, i think you are seeing democrats and academia lining up to help him out to get him through the spot. continue to pay attention to this because, i think, you will see, hey, he can have a media

contributor slot in a week or two, i think this is way bigger than the pension conversation. rob: let's go back, wendy, do you think that there's -- does he have credibility at this point, does andrew mccabe have credibility, it almost sounds like a conspiracy theory, a wild conspiracy theory, an assault on the fbi, i don't know how he gets there from what we know, where does he make that kind of accusation, how does he get to that? >> well, i think it's important that we all wait to make judgment until we see the inspector general's report because that's what's going underscore what happened and what they saw to make this decision, but again, i think what's really important here as far as mccabe is concerned, whether he does get media contributorship or book deal, we have to make sure that our democracy is not one that's been torn apart, so we want to know that, you know, if you have a public servant, intelligence officer, we are not painting you with a broad brush but if you did some sort of indiscretion,

maybe you should be let go, but again, this is not to say that all individuals in the fbi or the cia for that matter are bad people, no, these are life-long career servants and deserve to be treated with respect. rob: a number of democrats rushed into offer mccabe some sort of a job trying to help him get that pension, should we be trying to help somebody get a pension when his colleagues at the fbi have -- have said that they think he should be fired? >> if you look at this, this has turned into political talking point and run in the news cycle for the day and a half, of course, they are lining up to offer positions. the more this stays in the news, they talk about how close he was for the pension, we will continue to talk about it another two or three days in the news cycle. rob: probably true, guys, thank you so much for coming on this morning. >> thank you. jillian: turning now to extreme weather, parts of southern california bracing for more
