i said one life every 15 minutes and this is one of the reasons that's imperative for the president to be tough on this. jillian: well, he will be talking about this and we expect him in new hampshire to be talking about this. let's take a look some of the ways he plans to combat, starting by cutting supply of elicit drugs, securing the border, shutting down online sales and seize-related assets, doj will seek the death penalty as we mention against drug traffickers where it is appropriate, that's your thought on that? >> much of this is embodied in our bill and also in the 26 separate bills we will be taking in committee tomorrow and wednesday and the reason you need to stiffen the penalties and work with both the the prescription side and the elicit side is our law enforcement -- when i'm talking to law enforcement in tennessee, they tell me not only is it the pills but also heroin, meth, cocaine.

jillian: you're not just talking about one thing. >> all of it is flooding our streets, this is an issue that's gotten away from us and as a wife and a mother and a friend, when you talk with people whose families are being ravaged, they need to resources and this is one that has gotten away from us and i was talking with a drug court judge that i worked with back when i was in the state senate in tennessee and he said, marsha, this is different, putting the money for law enforcement and for medically-assisted treatment into our bill gets it to these vunls that are really fighting this and the president is doing this, the president is right to fix the death penalty, he is right to push to get these resources out there so we can get ahead of this and stop it. jillian: thank you very much for joining us congresswoman,

wendy, i want to start with you, it's peculiar that there is this rush to help andrew mccabe in this situation, you have the office, ofciónal responsibility at the fbi which is made of career-fbi agents that made the decision to tell jeff sessions, hey, i think you should fire and drew mccabe, i don't understand and a lot of people don't understand why there's such sympathy for him from the left? >> yeah, i think that's a good point and opr has came up and said based on investigation he should be fire. it's important to note here to fire from 26 hours of retirement is not only mean spirited but rudely and vengeance, it's not a matter of opinion but a matter of fact and we can see both sides of the aisle whether or not he should be fired. we see on the other side, rubio saying that he wouldn't have

done it that way. that's a matter of opinion. but what we have to understand here is that whether or not it is political, that's a whole other conversation and based on how the president coronetted to attack mccabe through twitter you can say that it was rooted in a political call action. rob: it did come off as rather cruel although it might have been the end result anyway. when mccabe came out with the statement and basically tried to make it sound like it was another trump assault on the fbi, that was rather fascinating considering like we just said that the fbi are the ones who recommended that mccabe be fired, what did you make of that statement? >> you know, i think if you look at that statement and if you look at the actual topic of the pension, think about it, he's about to make more money with the book advance than he ever would with this pension, i think you are seeing democrats and academia lining up to help him out to get him through the spot. continue to pay attention to this because, i think, you will see, hey, he can have a media

contributor slot in a week or two, i think this is way bigger than the pension conversation. rob: let's go back, wendy, do you think that there's -- does he have credibility at this point, does andrew mccabe have credibility, it almost sounds like a conspiracy theory, a wild conspiracy theory, an assault on the fbi, i don't know how he gets there from what we know, where does he make that kind of accusation, how does he get to that? >> well, i think it's important that we all wait to make judgment until we see the inspector general's report because that's what's going underscore what happened and what they saw to make this decision, but again, i think what's really important here as far as mccabe is concerned, whether he does get media contributorship or book deal, we have to make sure that our democracy is not one that's been torn apart, so we want to know that, you know, if you have a public servant, intelligence officer, we are not painting you with a broad brush but if you did some sort of indiscretion,

maybe you should be let go, but again, this is not to say that all individuals in the fbi or the cia for that matter are bad people, no, these are life-long career servants and deserve to be treated with respect. rob: a number of democrats rushed into offer mccabe some sort of a job trying to help him get that pension, should we be trying to help somebody get a pension when his colleagues at the fbi have -- have said that they think he should be fired? >> if you look at this, this has turned into political talking point and run in the news cycle for the day and a half, of course, they are lining up to offer positions. the more this stays in the news, they talk about how close he was for the pension, we will continue to talk about it another two or three days in the news cycle. rob: probably true, guys, thank you so much for coming on this morning. >> thank you. jillian: turning now to extreme weather, parts of southern california bracing for more
