john bolton. what can you tell us about that? >> you are right. it is very interesting eric. we're talking about the virginia senator tim kaine. question whether or not john bolton is fit to be national security advisor and if you can get a security clearance. when he is referring to is an article and started basically published by mpr in it they referred to a video that the former ambassador to the un day for a pro-gun close in russia. this injustice from tim kaine is that if he is doing video for group in russia can somehow even manage a security clearance? we expect ambassador to respond to that momentarily. although we have not heard from him just yet we certainly will share with you when that happens but in the meantime elevation to become national security advisor is as he pointed out the latest in a series of changes to the. and member of staff shakeups we've been talking about.

1:11 pm
>> cambridge analytica has denied wrongdoing but whistleblowers say that they got 50 million users information. but it could be worse than that. we are seeing with a now sink it is not 50 mind but almost every voter in america. what is claimed to possess detailed profiles on 30 million american voters based on up to 5000 data points. everything from where you live to whether you own a car. shopping hybrids, medications you take, even the t.v. shows that you want. the data is available to anyone with deep pockets. sounds like the firm is like this supersecret shadowing spy type. they said that they are a data firm. how deep does this go? and is there any evidence that there is any connection to the russians or bots that we know of that they may have used the information from cambridge analytica to target american voters? >> well, cambridge analytica certainly attracted a lot of

scrutiny in the past couple of months. of course there are reports that surfaced last year that their ceo who has since been suspended, reached out to wikileaks founder julian assange about hillary clinton's email.there are a lot of unanswered questions about cambridge analytica. i think people are really trying to get to the bottom of it. people on the hill and also special counsel robert mueller obviously with these developers that could provide for his investigation. he's looking for ties between cambridge analytica and russia and also we have heard people from the trump campaign describe cambridge work as minimal in the wake of the firm getting scrutiny. it is unclear exactly how influential cambridge really was for the trump campaign. >> one parent they were paid something in the warrant and then they got back so you talk about next. he is a channel 4 british documentary investigation really, that has gone him in trouble. he has been suspended and he is

president trump face-to-face meeting with kim jong-un? >> that is exactly what in ministration has been doing, putting pressure.as a result i think it has created the conditions where north korea has sought this meeting. we saw some opening with their delegation at the olympics perhaps. but then a follow-up meeting with south korea that led to this. i think the combination of demonstrating a very strong resolve to push back on north korea and talk at the same time is the way to go. and it brought us where we are. >> of course to think that one meeting will resolve all distrust for north korea would be a miscalculation. what would you say, how much time did he be able to take steps to his united states goal for north korea? >> i think there are a couple things people look for. the first is an expressed

willingness to denuclearize at some point. he will obviously attach a lot of conditions to that. but the idea itself that denuclearization is a possibility is an important one. the second thing is moratorium on new steps which will be new missile launches, new tests, new underground donations. those sort of things should stop while talks continue. >> i want to play more of president obama his remarks from that talk there in tokyo earlier today. he was thinking about russia as well. let's listen. >> president putin has had less interest in pursuing arms control agreements. and it is very difficult for the united states to unilaterally reduce its nuclear stockpiles without some form of russian participation. at a time when the us russia relations are strained, for a range of reasons, i do not anticipate that we will see huge progress but just because

investing substantially and modernizing their arsenal. they moved missiles further to the west and it can reach -- they need to know that the us is also modernizing and prepared to push back. including establish a strong nuclear deterrent. it is only from that basis we have a strong deterrent that you can actually negotiate on reductions and arms control. that is the trajectory that we are back on. >> i will switch from run report and get back to pyongyang. there is a fox news poll asking will north korea ever give up nukes? look at this.76 percent said no. if the people are proven right ambassador, it is president trump to do? >> the thing is to try to get them to agree to remove them. if they do not have a permanent moratorium on things such as testing and missile launches and try to then contain the
