jacket and shot some guy right at the door and then he shot my buddy who was trying to run down the sidewalk and i dropped to the ground around my car and then i could see from underneath my car a guy wrestling inside with the gunman and then just got quiet and that's when the gunman had taken off. kelly: customer james shaw took chance to wrestle the gun away. >> at the time that he was either reloading or the gun jammed or whatever happen is when i ran through the door, i hit him with the door, i manage today get him with one hand on the gun and i grabbed it from him and i threw it over the countertop. kelly: life and death struggle continued with shaw fighting all the way outside and at that point ranking was able to break free from shaw and run away, police are conducting a massive manhunt to catch him.

do you agree? >> i think it's absolutely true and i think it shows how the different approach that president trump took of an extremely muscular actions against, you know, north korea both the sanctions and there's nothing like the threat of your entire kingdom turning into smoking rubble to focus the find. so he brought kim jong un to the table in a way no one else has and now we can actually talk about something that hasn't been happening before which is the prospect of denuclearization which is president trump's policy, actually getting rid of the nuclear program and their nuclear weapons. >> do you like president trump's approach, look, maybe this will work, if i'm there and having conversation and this isn't fruitful, then i will leave, he's not giving anything that he's doing? >> that's a smart noarrting posture, you don't wanting to like president obama with iran needing the deal so desperately that they can take your money on the playground.

strategists chuck rocha and republican strategists ned ryan, thanks for coming on this morning. chuck, good morning to you, and i want to say i would have to think that this is about as inspired and motivated as the left could be forren -- for an up coming election, what do you think the move should be? >> there's been rumbling on the left and democratic caucus about the leadership, the average age is like 76 year's old, every year, every group of years there's flow of leadership, you see paul ryan stepping down, new republicans stepping up. there's a lot of great young democrats ready to do that, there's so much pressure on democrats and leadership to retake the house but would not be easy because many districts are gerrymandered and maybe hard to do but unduly punished for something that they are not responsible for. rob: ned, i want to go over to

you, we see apparent motivation, there's a lot of complaining, a lot of resistance, a lot of outside, they are protesting in the street and making noise, you don't see the enthusiasm the same way, you see that there might but lagging there for the democrats come november, explain that. >> oh, absolutely, rob, if you look at the congressional generic polls, recent abc, washington post one, i think democrats should be concerned, they were up double digits coming into this year and this new one they are only up 4 points. if you look at the numbers below the surface, republicans are more absolutely likely to vote by 6 points over democrats but even more concern, rob, the fact that the voters under 30 are saying that they are 40% likely to vote and if you get black and hispanic vote they are lagging by double digit, i can see scenario that democrats paining up 15 or 20 and lose seats in

the senate and still mind themselves in minority in 2019, at that point, they absolutely would get rid of nancy pelosi and leadership, here is the fact they will probably replace her as somebody far left as american mainstream, maybe even more so because the democrat party right now is being eaten from within by far-left donors and the grassroots. quite frankly the democrat party is having serious exploration with socialism. i don't think they learned their lessons. they are going further left. rob: as far as messaging goes, i mean, they just had the young guy in pennsylvania steal the congressional seat and had a message that was moderate and a lot of trump-same agenda items, he didn't criticize the president and he won a seat that he probably shouldn't have won, is that a better direction for democrats than going far left? >> i have been running campaign for 27 years, i don't talk about
