sanctuary laws that the white house says he was referring to the criminal immigrant gang ms-13, not to all immigrants. he didn't say so. he didn't make that clear. >> make it clear? he was responding to a point about ms-13. andrea knows better. this, my friends, is this anatomy of a smear. take a comment out of context, isolate it, blast out the worst characterization of its purpose and meaning and writes, so-called reporters and politicians spit it back on panels where the number of furrowed brows seem to outnumber the number of brain cells. and as for ms-13 as whom trump was speak. this is some of what they have been up to lately. a horrific crime in the outskirts of washington, d.c. last year. they stabbed a man more than 100

times. they decapitated him and tore the heart out of his chest. or this case in loudoun county, virginia where a reported ms-13 gang member beat a muslim girl to death with a baseball bat. the suspect charged with murdering a 17-year-old muslim girl during ramadan was accused of sexually assaulting another woman a week before the teen slaying in virginia and is reportedly an ms-13 gang member. then there is this heart breaking account from the parents of teenaged girls killed by ms-13 in suffolk county, new york. >> there's not a day, a second, that i don't think about my daughter. and they just don't understand the pain. of a parent losing their child to this gang violence.

again. and perhaps that's why the left is acting like themselves, a pack of wild animals over a side comment by donald trump. and that's the angle. now shifting gears, we're now a year into the special counsel's probe and bob mueller has another target. route reuters reporting he subpoenaed jason sullivan to appear before a grand jury tomorrow. he is interested in whether the trump campaign was involved in the wikileaks release of the e-mails during the 2016 campaign. stone is the author of a new book "stone's rules: how to win at politics, business and style." now he joins us exclusively, great to see you.

how you doing, roger? congrats on the book. we have some rules we pulled out. we're now into year two of this investigation today. and they're bringing in a guy who worked for you on twitter and social media trending. what's going on there? >> at this point i don't know if i'm a person of interest or just an interesting person. it's very clear that not only has mr. mueller subpoenaed a part-time consultant who worked for me for three months he dropped subpoenas on a number of other young people who worked for me. i think this is driven by a fake news narrative that insists that i must have known in advance about the hacking of the dnc which i dispute happened by the russian. i don't think it happened at all never mind by the russians and i must have had advanced notice about the content, the source and the disclosure time of the

wikileaks dnc disclosures. that is false. but it's not pleasant having a special prosecutor in your phone calls and e-mails. and it's a violation of my fourth amendment rights and there's no probable cause here. julian assange has said roger stone never said anything on twit her didn't glean by simply following what i was saying in interviews and on my twitter feed. >> laura: they are hanging this on a tweet you had, where you said, trust me, it will be podesta's time in the barrel. >> i said, it will be the to december that's time in the barrel, people refer to donald trump the donald. i'm referring to john and tony because in april of 2016 their

shady russian business deals were exposed in the panama papers. as a student of opposition research i was well aware of. that i never predicted the hacking or theft of john podesta's e-mails. but that is omitted from the reports and from the final report. my lawyers had to write a letter asking for a correction. the podestas refers to john and tony. >> laura: adam schiff, he says and complains that you deny everything so you need subpoenas for your tweets and direct twitter messages. he said this. >> what we ought to do is subpoena twitter for direct messages that went to these particular handles or came from roger stone so that we don't have to accept and rely upon the word of roger stone which i think is a hazardous thing to

do. one thing that roger stone and the president have in common is a philosophy that you deny everything. that only suckers and losers admit to anything. if you deny it, it didn't happen. >> first of all i testified fully and truthfully to the house intelligence committee and i turned over to them the wikileaks and guccifer direct message exchanges. >> how do you get in touch with guccifer 2.0? >> by going to direct messages. based on the content and the context of that exchanges it's six weeks after the wikileaks exposures. so collusion is impossible. they are expost fashion toe. they are benign and i turned them over to the committee. >> laura: the house committee has it. >> the senate committee will

have it. >> laura: you wanted to testify in public. they brought you behind closed doors. why is that? >> and now the house democrats complain that my testimony is not in public when they wanted it in private. i agree to agree with the house and senate committees. i would like my testimony to be in public. i am going to turn over these documents and they are complete. >> laura: george stephanopoulos had george caputo on. >> he just met with mueller's team this week and came out saying they asked a lot of questions about collusion and he came away concerned about paul manafort, roger stone, gates and others. >> laura: they are very concerned about manafort, stone, gates and others. >> cnbc and msnbc and that partisan hack ari melbern insist

that he is focusing on my relationship with rick gates. i have never been alone with him. they are focused on dinners. there is one dinner. an manafort is supposed to join us. but at the last minute, gates shows up in his stead, showing up late and leaving early. there is no discussion of wikileaks or julian assangem and we did not work together 30 years ago. that is a falsehood. >> what about this stan nunberg comment? this is in march going back to what you said about julian assange. >> the minute he told me he met with assange i assumed he was lying.

the obama administration did, in fact, spy on the trump campaign. buried in the piece on the russia probe, more than 40 paragraphs down is this revelation. at least one government informant met with george papadopoulos, president trump tweeted that it could be bigger than watergate but was this a misstep or done on purpose? roger stone rejoins us for reaction on this development. also molly hemmingway and former whitewater prosecutor saul wisenberg. >> it's shocking and improper in my view that the fbi apparently penetrated and had an undercover person on the trump campaign that they used the lesser

standards of a counter intelligence investigation. >> laura: to open counter in tell investigation you don't need a criminal predicate, correct? >> you don't need a criminal predicate. it's one thing to say they could have -- they had enough evidence to open an investigation of whether there is russian espionage but certainly they weren't close to being anywhere near able to say we have some evidence of espionage by people in the trump campaign and they never could have opened a criminal investigation on that so they used the excuse of counter intelligence. it's a huge scandal. and you're absolutely right. it was put in that story because they knew it was going to come out and they're trying to be able to say that's old news and not a big deal. >> molly? >> i think it's not that this might be happening that the fbi was spying but we have multiple former fbi officials fully

saying there was broad surveillance on the trump campaign. not just carter page but four separate high ranking individuals. there were national security letters and at least one human intelligence source about whom we don't know a lot. how many there were, were they sent in by the fbi or walk ins. but it's not a question that this might indicate there is spying. they're saying they spied and did it in a broad fashion. >> laura: remember when trump was ridiculed by everyone when he says i was wiretapped. he speaks in shorthand. >> he was right. >> laura: they trashed him. >> right here on fox was the first one to call this. this has to be seen in context. only in only did they use a phony, fabricated dossier as the underlying legal rational for the spying on the republican candidate for president using the power and authority and capability of the state to spy

on one of the two major party candidates but they infiltrated the trump campaign with an fbi agent. this makes watergate look like small potatoes. >> laura: it looks like this guy stefan hall per, who teaches at cambridge, an american citizen, you know him, roger. >> i played poker with him. he's an excellent poker player. >> laura: it looks like, it's been reported. i know -- he might have been someone who was trying to suggest a lot of things to the trump campaign. but he didn't work for the trump campaign. but it was reported that he approached many different trump campaign people to try to give them information. what do you make of that, saul? >> you would call that a potential entrapment. an agent provocateur in the campaign. i hadn't heard that yet but it

wouldn't necessarily surprise me. but it's shocking enough that based on the kind of flimsy evidence that they had that they would put somebody into the campaign. the fisa is disturbing enough because we know they didn't reveal something very important, very important to the fisa court. but to have a plant in the political campaign of your opponent, if you do something like that you better have dynamite and it looks like they didn't have dynamite and it's the pattern of sally yates investigating mike flynn for the logan act. >> laura: she was out defending this yesterday. >> congress is currently trying to find out information about these types of things and the fbi is telling them that they can't turn over that information. at the same time you are seeing leaks with personal identifying, buy graph call and career information about the source that was used and there is at least one source. they are telling "the new york times" but they won't turn the information over to congress. >> laura: why?

because they want to make themselves look as good as possible before the ig thing comes out. this narrative is being tainted, burying the lead in "the new york times." and rudy just said on sean hannity's show. they are discussing far rogue the scope of the questions. i don't like him talking to bob mueller at all. i think this whole thing stinks to high heaven but it looks like they made progress on narrowing the questions. >> there's no circumstance under which the president should go in for an interview. it's a perjury trap. and the idea that rod rhoden ste -- rosenstein won't turn over information regarding surveillance of the trump cam an with the illegitimate use of fisa warrants is an impeachable offense. >> what did the president know and when did he know it?

>> laura: how does the president of the united states not know we are doing an counter intelligence mission on the -- >> the president wanted to know everything. >> i go back to susan rice's e-mail a herself. president wanted everything done by the book. she said it twice right after noon on january 20th. i get chills when i think of that. >> it's the cya memo. >> what about narrowing the scope of the questions, is that giving you a sense of comfort they would answer questions by mueller? >> as i've said many times on this show, if donald trump, if he were any white collar client, any regular white collar client famous or not in this circumstance i would physically prevent him from going in for that questioning. on the point that roger raised about the information that the d.o.j. doesn't want to give

over. there are good reasons for not giving over sources and methods. the problem with the doj, particularly with the fbi is they've been caught saying several times we can't turn this over because it's sensitive. and when they back down and unredact it, it's just embarrassing. they have a credibility problem. >> laura: papadopoulos. they kept saying he was an impetus for the investigation, the more we learned about that, he seems like a goof ball. carter page, pap dab lou-- we k learning about who is approaching him at the time. >> we were told there were questions about russian interference. the more we learn, it boggles the mind that professionals should have started any

the county blames i.c.e. for failing to get a warrant. but the head of i.c.e.'s chicago office said marion county ignored an immigration detainer and released a mexican woman from the jail without notifying i.c.e. the pastor was at the scene of the hit and run and joins us from indianapolis. it is another shocker to hear the facts of this. thank goodness jessica survived. but your feelings given now we know that the perpetrator is gone. they tried to approach her at her supposed place of residence and the door was answered by someone who said she didn't live there any more. >> i think we're at crisis point in our country and certainly, here in indianapolis, when someone who nearly kills someone is released, less than a week after the incident occurred.

and the agencies involved for making sure she is held accountable for what happened, not doing enough. we need to be more conscientious about these kinds of things to make sure they don't happen again in the future. >> laura: and i think a lot of americans, they don't hear these crimes reported. we try to keep track of them. many news organizations will not report the legal status or illegal status or the perpetrators of the accused, of the arrested. so you have to really dig for this information. in this case we were able to get it. what's amazing here is jessica, who suffered the broken leg and more minor injuries. but the broken leg, was thrown from the car, she's forgiving the assailant who has now apparently absconded. >> that is something that is not surprising to me that jessica did forgive her and certainly we
