republicans and another meeting that was bipartisan. the general layout of two meetings, what did you think? >> the saddest thing about this is it took pressure from the pres. to get doj and the fbi to do this. this is something they should have done eight months ago when the house intelligence committee started investigating it. transparency is needed for this reason. it is unprecedented for the government to launch a law enforcement investigation into surveillance of an opposition presidential campaign. we need to know that they have hard, substantive evidence of major violations of federal law. if they didn't, there was an abuse of law enforcement powers of the federal government. heather: why do you think they have delayed this? >> that is the big question. the russia collusion

investigation hasn't produced a single piece of evidence that there was any collusion but what the investigation has raised is a lot of questions about potentially abusive behavior by fbi and doj officials and the idea what they have been doing is launching a partisan investigation against an opposition political campaign. heather: these are high up in the fbi and doj, not the men and women who were out there every day doing a great job. in terms of the chief of staff, john kelly, and the attorney for the white house, there has been discussion about whether they should have been there or not. they are just at the beginning of left before anything that was classified was released. >> that shouldn't have been an issue. what everyone forgets is the pres. is the chief law enforcement officer of the united states.

he has full constitutional authority to be completely free on all aspects of this investigation and that would include anyone working for him. the idea that there was something wrong even if they had been briefed, that is a false flag that isn't true. heather: in terms of the pres. and what he can or cannot release, could he just get involved in this and release information himself? >> yes. he has the ability to declassify any information. here is the thing everyone should remember. congress has 100% right to seek its information because of its constitutional oversight authority and that is why doj and fbi constant delay and attempts to not give information is legally and constitutionally wrong and makes you wonder what they are trying to hide. heather: going back to even -- stzrok and lisa page, why
