10:00 pm
i am sad to leave but i leave with the knowledge that i lived the life that i intended." the great charles krauthammer. that is it for us. we hand it over to sean hannity in new york. see you tomorrow. >> sean: great words. charles krauthammer, his entire life was a profile in courage. intellectual powerhouse and a great patriot. we have a tribute to him later in the program. welcome to "hannity." we start with major breaking news. right now we hear talk there may be a vote in the house of representatives to end the mueller witch hunt. we'll have more in a moment. hypocrisy in the moment over the top, over the boiling point and with the midterms around the corner you have democrats and of course the willing accomplices in the main stream media. now trying to use illegal immigration to divide america. very predictable. meanwhile, the president is trying to fix our broken system and doing their job and undoing
10:01 pm
their mess. democrats offered no solutions, no compromise, no cooperation. and their friends in the media are cheering them on every step of the way. in moments we will uncover the deception that is arising from the american left. their rhetoric is absolutely disgusting tonight. plus, we have the first lady melania trump making a surprise visit to the border in the facilities in texas today. we bring you her remarks and we'll show you how absolutely apoplectic the media is here, attacking her. by the way, over a wardrobe choice. it's insane. tonight we have more fallout from the i.g. report that the media ignores including new evidence that reveals some of the absolutely dirty tactics used against the trump campaign and the biggest abuse of power. and the media is ignoring it all. we have the latest from the ongoing obstruction at the d.o.j. there is a fight abreuing and it's a sad -- fight brewing and it's a sad day here at fox news. charles krauthammer passed away at the age of 68.
10:02 pm
a huge loss for the fox news family. we have more on his life, legacy and the profile in courage that was his life. we are first calling out political bias by the way and holding our government accountable. that is the breaking news opening monologue. hours ago the first lady melania trump made a surprise trip to texas where she visited a d.h.s.-sponsored shelter serving as a temporary home to children detained at the border. take a look. >> we all know they are here without their families. and i want to thank you for your hard work, your compassion and your kindness that you are giving them in this difficult time. i'm here to learn about your facility. which i know you have children on a long-term basis. and i also like to ask you how i can help the children to reunite with their families as quickly
10:03 pm
as possible. >> sean: the first lady's trip was important. those remarks were important without a doubt. the first lady, she is doing a great job. by the way, is offering so much needed compassion. as i said from the beginning no one wants children and parents to be separated. neither did donald trump. he solved congress' mess. but the media can only focus on one thing. what melania was wearing while boarding literally the plane to texas. with a jacket with the words on the back that read "i really don't care do you?" yahoo! wrote melania trump wears a jacket to texas with a pointed message. "i really don't care, do you?" "vanity fair" did melania trump
10:04 pm
trump -- with a message and pick a poorly chosen jacket? the visit said she cared but the jacket seemed to say otherwise. cnn editor at large. melania's "i really don't care, do you" jacket. and look at how fake news cnn which barely bothered to cover the president's rally last night and the conspiracy tv msnbc did not cover at all. look how they cover the jacket. >> it was impossible to think that that is aimed at the people she just saw. it's more likely because this is what we do with the first lady when she wears these things, maybe the person she is married to. >> i believe she has worn dozens of different coats. many of them are beautiful. >> this one is not. >> this one is not. you have a great story today of the first lady going down showing compassion for the children and yet you have this jacket. >> this is a picture of melania trump boarding air force one to head to mcallen, texas, to visit some of the children held
10:05 pm
in the detention center. she is wearing a green jacket. we believe it came from the clothing store zara. on the back in white "i really don't care. do you?" she is a model. she knows the power of clothes. >> sean: director of communications for the first lady stephanie graham responded and tweeted out, "today's visit impacted the flotus greatly. if the media would look at her action to help the kids rather than speculate on her wardrobe we could get so much accomplished on behalf of kids." followed by #shecares. even president trump weighed in. "i don't care, do you" written on the back of melania's jacket refers to the fake news media. she has learned how dishonest they are and she truly no longer cares. good for her. why should she trust them. it's unbelievable.
10:06 pm
surprise trip took place less than 24 hours after the president donald trump signed an executive order preventing the separation of families and children who cross our borders illegally. in doing so, what did he do? he bailed out the democrats and the republicans in congress who by the way this is their mess. this is their law, not his. the people that have failed to act on the issue. no one wants children separated from parents. the president has said it day one. this action now literally, literally transcends stupid laws on the books. passed by congress, signed into law by a previous president. this is not a permanent solution. in fact, it's not going to hold up in the court system. the real answer, the real long-term solution, the real answer if you care is congress to do their job. pass a bill. send it to the white house. despite all of this, president trump was literally demonized for days in the media for congress' law. before the executive action. not see comparisons, slavery comparisons. basically the main stream media, what they do worst be.
10:07 pm
themselves. >> donald trump without a doubt is pure evil. if you play the tapes of what was heard a couple of days ago, it's horrific. how can people do that. that hasn't happened in this country since slavery? it hasn't happened in the world since the time of the nazis. and donald trump is right there with them. >> this is as if george wallace won in 1968. the one through line here from charlottesville to this issue is to use your phrase, a return to the most disturbing elements of white supremacy. white male supremacy to be precise in the national character. >> overnight, they have now created criminals. so people are trying to understand here. that is what happened. he said the nazis had it correct. they declared us an illegal people. that's how it began. >> i don't want little children ripped from their parent's arms and marched off to "showers."
10:08 pm
>> you look at this historically throughout history, no matter the policy. separation of family is something that speaks to the level of inhumanity. if you go back to slavery -- >> sean: no wonder when a president gives a rally like last night they chant about the corrupt news media. cnn sucks and so does msnbc. even trump's d.h.s. secretary kirstjen nielsen was not spared from the hostility and from the viciousness and the wrath of the left. look at this clip. she is run out of a restaurant by a group of liberal protesters. i'm waiting to hear from hillary, nancy and elizabeth. where are you? take a look. >> kirstjen nielsen. how dire you spend your evening here eating dinner. you're complicit of the deportation of 10,000 children separated from the parents.
10:09 pm
how did you enjoy your mexican dinner as you are deporting the tens of thousands of people coming here to seek asylum in the united states. >> homeland security secretary kirstjen nielsen is in a mexican restaurant of all places. [bleep] gall. shame on you! shame, shame, shame! >> shame! shame! shame! shame! shame! >> sean: apparently that included a d.o.j. employee. the group of insanity there. liberals save their worst for the president. pay attention to this. his 12-year-old son. really? we have to warn you. the tweet you are about to see is beyond disturbing. jane fonda brother peter the actor. "we should rip barron trump from his mother's arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if his mother will stand against
10:10 pm
the giant blank she is married to." 90 million people in the streets on the same weekend in the country. f. peter fonda tried to issue a tepid apology. melania trump had to contact the secret service because her 12-year-old son is threatened. beyond vile, beyond disgusting. you can't imagine it. he wasn't the only repugnant person on the left to go after a trump child. look at this canadian tv writer attacking don junior's 4-year-old on twitter. saying, "we are coming for you." really? this is beyond sick. this is pathological. and frankly dangerous. this is now the type of rhetoric that one has to wonder if something happens two is going to be -- who is going to be to blame here? we have another horrible example of the let's new low according to an e-mail obtained by breitbart.com. the writer for g.q. asking donald trump jr. if he wants to
10:11 pm
have -- i'm not making this up -- sex with his mother. that's how twisted his brains are. these are the same people that demanded compassion from president trump. really? where is your example? where is your compassion for children? a 4-year-old, a 12-year-old? what is ever going to happen to peter fonda or the person that threatened kirstjen nielsen? or don junior's son? what would the media be doing if this were the children of barack obama? you don't think there is a double standard? december pile this vile, all 24 hatred and insanity, president is still ready, willing and able, and eager to address what is congress' broken immigration system. it's not his system. it's not his laws. he wants to work with the republicans and the democrats alike. he wants to solve the problem. he is willing to give on daca and separation of the kids. he has already tried to clean up their mess. by the way, caused by obama and
10:12 pm
clinton because they never did their jobs. just months away from the midterms. what is this? democrats would rather use the issue to divide you the american people, raise money and win votes. by the way, this is a typical election year for them. it's all political. here is what the president had to say about all this earlier today. take a look. >> president trump: my administration is also acting swiftly to address the illegal immigration crisis on the southern border. loopholes in the immigration laws all supported by extremists, open border democrats. that is what they are. they are extremists open border democrats. if you look at nancy pelosi, you look at chuck schumer. you will see tapes where they wanted to have borders. they needed borders for security. just a short while ago. a number of years ago. we must have borders. hillary clinton. "we must have borders. if people penetrate our borders we must get them out of the country." now all of a sudden they're big open border people. it's a con job. in the meantime, people are suffering because of the
10:13 pm
democrats. so we've created, they've create and they let it happen a massive child smuggling industry. that is exactly what it's become. >> sean: so predictable. you see it every two years. every four years. republicans are racists. they are sexists. misogynistic. they're homephobic, xenophobic, islamphobic and they want to kill your children. throw granny over the cliff and they want dirty air and dirty water and poisen the air and water. you hear it every two and four years. the president is right. but you don't have to take their word for it. despite him fixing their problem and signing the executive order to keep families together despite working with the d.h.s. to make sure that children are reunited with the parents. despite all of that outrage over the trump administration enforcing congress law that been on the books for years and that obama never fixed. by the way, obama did the same thing. we have shown you the pictures. we'll go back to that in a minute. democrats does what they want and they are still playing politics and demonizing and they are still insane in the
10:14 pm
comments. they are anti-trump everything. take a look. >> what he is doing is zero tolerance and that applies to those seeking amnesty. it so undermines who we are as a country. >> their alteration of the policy today didn't end their heartlessness. >> the administration was perfectly comfortable with separating parents from their kids as long as they put pressure on the congress to build the president's wall. >> of course, there was a crisis he created. and attempted to address today but he didn't go anywhere near far enough. >> this will be a dark moment in america's history. to put these children in steel cages like interment camps is -- cages like internment camps is something that people will never forget. it was donald j. trump.
10:15 pm
>> the president was right to stop that policy. but let's not give him a medal for starting the fire and then bringing the fire hose. this could lead to family internment camps. >> sean: these people are insane. barack obama, that is what he did. we have the evidence. senate democrats are the ones that stand in the way of a real immigration system getting fixed. by the way, standing in the way of a fully funded, a fully constructed border wall, standing in the way of merit-based immigration system. standing in way of fixing what is happening at the southern border. do you care about the opioid crisis? do you care about people that don't love america coming in country? instead of fixing america's problems and instead of really helping people and solving problems and helping immigrants, democrats would rather demagogue, win a mid-term election and impose a horrible agenda on the american people which includes by the way, four points. one, they're not going to tell you. they told people like maxine waters don't say it. don't say it. we're going to do it. impeach president trump. they want to keep obamacare. do you like your doctor? do you like your cares? do you like your hospitals? forget that. and you pay less. number three, they want, nancy
10:16 pm
pelosi said she wants her crumbs back. she said the tax cuts were crumbs. she wants them back. number four, the open borders as you can see. the democrats are not acting alone. their greatest ally is the main stream media. they are the press office for the democratic party and they are backing them up every step of the way. look at how abusively, insanely bias your press is they cover president trump after he did what obama never did. he solved the problem, signed an executive order that probably isn't going to hold muster the any courtroom. take a look. >> just because the arsonist comes back and throws a bucket on the fire doesn't mean they didn't start the fire in the first place. >> it will leave indelible stain on the presidency. >> either that they are morally callous or incompetent about this. >> this is something that erdogan would do. this is something that putin would do. >> thank you for the order. instead of being separated families from other countries
10:17 pm
will be locked up today. -- locked up together. hopefully starting with his. >> the people coming to this country are vermin. that's what he is saying. the language of the european, white nationalists, splinter, hard right, crazy town parties. >> the combination of both white nationalist racism making the policy complete and total incompetence. >> they were all silent when obama did the same thing. wow! enough to make you want to -- you know why i sound frustrated? that is why we have four viewers to their one. because people know they are a bunch of liars. unfortunately the american media, well, for the american voters, they are now fully hip to the bias, the b.s. and the hatred of the president. while almost every other network, nearly ignore trump's rally last night. because they'd be called out by the president for being the liars they are. but the good people of minnesota had a message as i mentioned earlier.
10:18 pm
especially for fake news cnn. maybe they weren't listening because nobody is watching. take a look. >> president trump: we created 3.4 million new jobs since election day. 3.4. i've said before if i would have said that to you during the campaign, those very dishonest people back there, the fake news, very dishonest. they would have said, "he's exaggerating!" >> cnn sucks! cnn sucks! cnn sucks! cnn sucks! cnn sucks! >> sean: so why are americans choosing not to watch fake news cnn or conspiracy tv msnbc? and frankly not paying attention to the media anymore? it's because of their rampant, psychotic, anti-trump bias. and also because the media's
10:19 pm
pervasive double standard is clear. people see it. president trump highlighted a lot of this last night in his strong remarks about president obama. we showed you the pictures last night. take a look. >> president trump: there is no amount of money or personnel in the world to address the crisis. very serious crisis. it's been going on so long. this isn't trump administration. you look back at 2014 during the obama administration. they have pictures that were so bad, they had a judge that said it was inhumane the way they were treating children. take a look at some of the court rulings against the obama administration. they talked about inhumane treatment. i read them. i looked at them. they're all over the place. inhumane treatment. they were treating them terribly. >> sean: the president is right. so where was all the outrage from the media? look at that. those images, they're children
10:20 pm
in cages. no parents in sight. sleeping on the floor. wrapped in foil blankets. oh, those are under obama's reign. my gosh. where was tim kaine, nancy pelosi, the liberal media, where was the outrage then? where was the outrage when obama had a policy immigrant children were held for months without their moms and dads as punishment for the border crossing? where was the outrage when the family of immigrant detainees sued president obama for wrongful death? where was the outrage following a report minor detainees were brutally abused and beaten under the obama administration? it was obama who prosecuted nearly a half a million illegal immigrants. it was obama who said he must follow the laws on the books and that he had no other choice but to deport illegal immigrants. and as a matter of fact he was doing what other presidents did. even if the consequences were severe, obama said.
10:21 pm
he said it over and over again. he doesn't make the laws. it's just his job as president to enforce them. well, let's go to videotape. "hannity" history lesson. >> there are those in the immigrants rights community who have argued passionately that we should simply provide those who are illegally with legal status. or at least ignore the laws on the books. but i believe such an indiscriminate approach would be unwise and unfair. when i talked to immigration advocates they wish i could bypass congress and change the law myself. but that is not how democracy works. believe me, the idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. i promise you. not just on immigration reform. but that is not how our system works.
10:22 pm
i'm the president of the united states. i'm not the emperor of the united states. my job is to execute laws that are passed. >> sean: take a look at this stunning admission from obama's homeland security secretary. pretty interesting. >> in 2014, to deal with the spike then, with the families, we did a number of things including by the way working with the government of mexico. and obtaining their cooperation on securing their southern border. but we also expanded family detention. which was i freely admit controversial. >> you got a lot of heat for it. >> we got a lot of heat for it. >> sean: the hypocrisy, the double standard is unbelievable. as i said earlier in is all politics. this is now the political season. we get it every two and four years. more in a few moments. we have breaking developments surrounding the deep state. the anti-trump, f.b.i. love bird

what we are continuing to find is this. what we are continuing to find is this. additional information from d.o.j. and f.b.i. that has literally been hidden from congress' oversight role for nine months. so we are at the point where the frustration has reached the level that we have got to deal with it. you know, issuing subpoenas to compel people to come in and testify. some of them who really i think want to testify, want to make sure that we clean this up will be actually forth coming in days. where we will get them to come in. >> sean: house freedom caucus chairman mark meadows promising subpoenas. yeah, they'll be forthcoming. why? to compel individuals to testify over their involvement in the probe into the russian election interference. awe for of "why we fight. recovering america's will to win." dr. sebastian gorka. fox news contributor, sara carter.

this is your story about the fight and what now appears to be contempt of congress followed by an impeachment at least being filed against rod rosenstein. are they going to do it? threats aren't going to work anymore. >> threats aren't going to work anymore. they need to take this seriously. they have said over and over again, sean, both meadows, jordan and others that they are going to take this to the floor and file impeachment papers. rod rosenstein is willing to go forward with this fight. he is going to try to fight them to the end. so they have got to be serious about this. >> sean: he wants them to sue. congress should not sue because it is sort of like, you know, fast and furious, it will get lost in the court system. rosenstein knows it. so they should do what they do to you and dr. gorka and me. that is hold them in contempt. maybe put them in a jail cell for ten days. to make him, let's see. oh, they will put the screws to him like manafort who is now in
10:50 pm
solitary like he is a mob killer so maybe he'll sing so they can either impeach or prosecute trump. maybe we should use the same tactic against rosenstein mueller is using against the other people. >> that he would use against any american that was withholding information from the f.b.i. but i don't know if that is going to happen. they need to have enough members of congress really backing this and really pushing this forward. this is why the subpoenas are so important. why it's so important to get those f.b.i., those people in the bureau and the people in the d.o.j. who want to talk to come out and tell the american people the truth about what went on. >> sean: my sources tell me there were at least four criminal referrals here. probably more. the person in the most trouble tonight that doesn't know it is james comey. dr. gorka? >> well, it's very, very interesting. rod rosenstein is very, very close friends with comey, with mueller, with all these individuals. this is a man who called congressional oversight over the department of justice extortion.
10:51 pm
this individual is a swamp dweller and the survival of himself. and the cronies staffed in the d.o.j. the individual is a rogue agent inside the d.o.j. and congress should start to exercise the fully mandated oversight powers. >> sean: apparently rosenstein has a violent temper. >> the fact that rosenstein thinks that he and his temper tantrums. he has a violent temper. people have seen it told me. threatens congress that we are going to use the power of the doming and we'll subpoena your e-mails and we'll go after you. if that is not abuse of power, i don't know what is. why is he still there? >> you are right. he doesn't just threaten members of congress. these are people who can handle it and punch back and fight back. he threatens the investigators. the people who are behind the scenes and the people who are doing the investigations.
10:52 pm
the ones that he does not want to have access to these documents. he has done it to a number of them. some of them have been publicly named in stories. >> sean: are they going to subpoena your e-mails? are they going to bang on my door? rod rosenstein doesn't like what we say, he doesn't like that congress is doing the constitutional duty so now he is going to threaten them? what next? are we going to be a country anymore or constitutional republic anymore? dr. gorka? >> rod rosenstein has facilitated the subversion and the sabotaging of rule of law in the united states. >> sean: he is a bully. >> if he doesn't stop -- yes. he is a bully. >> sean: he is trying to bully congress from doing their job. >> worse than that, worse than being a bully -- there are lots of bullies out there. we now know thanks to the i.g. report and thanks to the work of sara and you, that the department of justice is a political entity that obama turned it into a political police force and the f.b.i.
10:53 pm
followed suit. >> sean: like a super police. >> that has to be fixed. rosenstein is part of the problem. >> sean: sara, is congress going to vote up or down to end this witch hunt? that is now making its way through congress. i think they need to do it like yesterday. >> i agree with you, sean. now that we know that at least three, three of the people that were on mueller's special counsel were removed for extraordinary bias, you know, clinesmith who was named by meadows apparently was just removed in february. we know peter strozk was extraordinarily biased and right now horowitz is actually investigating his role in the russia investigation. >> sean: in other words, it was legitimate -- illegitimate from day one. >> fruit from the poisonous tree, sean. >> sean: well said. >> this is what attorneys look at, at all times. >> sean: we got to roll. >> there needs to be something done. >> sean: thank you, both. a very sad day at the fox news channel. up next we'll remember the life, the profile in courage, the legacy of our friend and colleague the brilliant charles
